Based on number of recordings available for composers born after 1860. This is an objective "cloud" measure of popularity: people think it worthwhile to make a recording and others to buy it. Number from arkivmusic is in third column. Can shorten it: e.g. exclude those not living after 1930 (exit Debussy, Mahler) or 1940 (exit Ravel). A later birth date (1870 or 1880) can be used, but this raises anomalies: most of Sibelius famous work (symphonies, violin concerto) is post 1900; Strauss wrote his most famous and popular work (four last songs) in 1948. Two observations. The twentieth century is dominated by the Russians and the French. Also, the Brits d better than I thought: Britten and VW are popular around the world. Germans have to rely on the late romantics and have not created anything music wise to replace this.

Labour economics

I see you are a lecturer on economics, can you review the edits made to the labour economics article from 22 March to 25 March? Some(but not all) of the old material was unsourced, however the neoclassical perspective is more widespread in economics courses than the older labour theory of value, the article therefore ought to give a balanced view of the different theories. A few questions, - confessing that I am new to the piece ;) - Why is that a Choral composition? It looks like a cantata to me, with the choir not even playing a key role. Hi Gerda Arendt. The Proms introduced me to it 18 months ago. Yes, Cantata is the correct terminology: thanks for that. The "huge orchestral sauce": the only source I can find for this is Suzanne Lodato (as referenced). I have added her reference to the Allgemeine Zeitung along with the German (perhaps you can access this online?). Divisi is not the right term here. The sections are divided throughout the piece (like first and second violins): divisi happens when a single section is temporarily divided into two.
