Welcome

Hey, Hi, Welcome to my talk page, feel free to add your comments, I will try to respond as soon as possible.

A barnstar for you........!!

The Original Barnstar
I would like to award you this branstar for creating Pakistan related articles 27.255.34.122 (talk) 12:29, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Barnstar

Thanks It's always nice to be appreciated. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 09:41, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Pakistan Peoples Party

I've undone your cut-and-paste move of this page. In general, the main article title should not have parentheticals (like "(PPP)") when possible. So the main article is Pakistan Peoples Party, with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as a redirect. People looking for this information are much more likely to type in just the name of the party without the (PPP). Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 14:06, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

AfD and PROD notifications

Hi Faizan. Back in November, you got either an AfD or PROD notification and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested (1, 2), that would be very useful. (You can also email me at swalling@wikimedia.org if you want.) Thanks! Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 23:40, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Spelling "mistakes"

Please stop inappropriately changing British spelling to American spelling. If you are using an American dictionary which flags "spelling mistakes" for you, then that is definitely not a basis for correct spelling on Wikipedia. The way many words are spelled in the USA are not the way they are spelled in the wider world. Please read carefully Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Spelling. --Epipelagic (talk) 22:52, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Sure I will certainly take care of that, well with all your due respect, I did change few words into British or American English, however most of them were holding genuine grammatical and spelling mistakes such as I found a word "collection" written as "collaction" so I think, I should change it? It might be possible that few edits were because of British and American English difference however not all of them, English is my native language and I know what I am typing in, however I really very apologize for inconvenience, I can certainly assure you that I will take of that in future. thanks --Faizanalivarya (talk) 04:18, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Talkheader

Hello, please do not indiscriminately add {{talkheader}} to talk pages. As the documentation for that template says, it should not be used on calm talk pages. I have mass-rollbacked all the edits you made to the talk namespace today. I apologise if I've accidentally reverted a good edit.

In addition, you should not change other peoples' comments, even for punctuation. Graham87 02:41, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

I highly appreciated your kind comments on my talk page, however with all your due respect, I certainly understood that there were few pages where I should not add as it was showing skip talk, however I believe that {{talkheader}} should be visible on every talk page of Wikipedia, these are my personal views and I think I am not going against any Wikipedia policy by adding talk header on Talk Pages, with all your due respect and I would like to inform you that according to Wikipedia Talk Pages Guidelines which you may look at Fixing layout errors, I highly appreciated your kind comments as being a most senior editor and brother to me, I hope you will certainly guide me more in future as well. --Faizanalivarya (talk) 04:38, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your polite comments. However, you should not do mass-editing to force your views of how pages should be laid out without seeking a consensus first. A recent arbitration case came to the same conclusion. I recommend asking about the use of the template at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals) with a cross-post to Template talk:Talk header. As you can see from the template talk page's archives, it is a highly controversial template and consensus has established that it should only be used on high-traffic pages. Graham87 05:33, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

I'd like to ditto this comment. Talker header was added to Talk:AIS Arena. I cannot understand why this notice was added to the article. What necessitated this? The talk page does not even have a section to it, let alone any comments. Can you please drop by Talk:AIS Arena to discuss this template's inclusion on the talk page? --LauraHale (talk) 20:28, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Dear Laura, With all your due respect, I highly appreciated your certain concern however I would like to inform you that according to Wikipedia Talk Pages Guidelines which you may look at Fixing layout errors, Its nothing to do with article its just for layout and its good to be on page as it inform other new editors who are coming on page, to focus on given below things

Be polite, and welcoming to new users Assume good faith Avoid personal attacks

its up to you, that you want to keep it or not if xyz article is written by your self, its my personal opinion an article should have it, what do you think. --Faizanalivarya (talk) 21:12, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

With all due respect, Faizanalivarya, I am still unclear beyond "I can do it" that you added the template to Talk:AIS Arena. This question, for me, was not adequately answered. Can you please look at the history of the Talk:AIS Arena and tell me why you think this article needed this template? What sort of edits were made to this talk page that consensus has suggested inclusion on a talk page such as this warranted inclusion of the template? --LauraHale (talk) 21:19, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

I have started a conversation here as I was concerned you were informing users who did not exist and did not adequately explain why you added this template en masse to articles with zero discussion. --LauraHale (talk) 21:23, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

I have replied on there and i am pasting here as well
According to you, there should not be a Template:Talk header in any newly created article or articles where there is no discussion held, means you believe in that any article without any discussion would not be discussed? and would not have discussion ever? well that does not make any sense as I said, It should on every article in order to avoid any personal attack, hate speech or negative talks, as being a responsible Wikipedia Editor we should have good faith on fellow Wikipedia contributor, that what all i have to say, now I hope people should support it, what do you think now?--Faizanalivarya (talk) 21:40, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Before you try to post that again, you should work it out with Jac16888 and convince him that it is for the better, so as not to cause an edit war. I am not opposed to you posting it, but I am opposed to edit wars. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Legolover26 (talkcontribs) 15:54, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
Again, with all your due respect, I really don't know who he is? and I hate Edit Wars too, I dont need any Edit War, anyways my apolgies again, its okay leave it, tell me how are you? well, its always nice to live in Minnesota, whats your real name by the way, just asking if you don't mind? --Faizanalivarya (talk) 16:56, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
Jac1688 is the one who reverted your edit after you posted the image on Jimbo's page. You should talk to him. And about my real name, I prefer to withhold my personal information. There is no rule in wikipedia that says I must not. You can just call me Lego. Legolover26 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:23, 25 May 2012 (UTC).

Articles for Creation is desperately in need of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors and administrators alike, to help us clear a record backlog of pending submissions. There is currently a significant backlog of 2548 submissions waiting to be reviewed. These submissions are generally from new editors who have never edited Wikipedia before. A prompt, constructive review of submissions could significantly editor retention.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you (at least) autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog.

Sure, I will take care of that, Justin.--Faizanalivarya (talk) 13:46, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Linking major countries and cities

Hi, please do not link major geographical features such as countries and cities, as you did at Andrew Flavel. It is considered overlinking. I discovered your edit to that page while checking Australian Paralympic articles. Also, "Added Text", the edit summary that you used while making the edit, is highly misleading, as you did not in fact add any visible text to the page. Adding links is called wikification and the correct edit summary to be used in this case is "wikify". Graham87 10:15, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Graham, Hi, thanks for your kind information, well I think that was an error, I did add some text in it and also did some wikification on it, certainly I know about wikification as i am part of wikification Project, you may have a look on article now, I never ever used any misleading information on edit summary, I honestly respect all policies and guidelines of our beloved Wikipedia and as being a most senior editor your should have good faith on me and on my edits that I wont provide any misleading information again in nutshell it was just an error and I corrected it, Thanks for guiding me and informing me appreciated. :) --Faizanalivarya (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Syed Shah Mardan Shah-II

Hello Faizanalivarya, I hope you are well. I appreciate the good job you do on many pages. Well done. I am hoping you will be able to find a better source than the one you just added to the Syed Shah Mardan Shah-II page. That website certainly fails to satisfy the requirements of WP:SOURCES. In particular, it is highly subjective and contains almost adulatory comments about the individuals mentioned. I hope you won't mind trying to find a more credible, neutral and factual source. Thank you and best wishes. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 08:33, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Dear George, thanks a lot for your kind concern and help for article, It honestly appreciated, I am happy there are few Wikipedians who actually in good faith of other contributor, its very nice to know, I certainly understood and found that section is not required more because I am not able to find any reliable source for it.--Faizanalivarya (talk) 16:27, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
And with all your due respect I honestly respect and follow the all policies of our beloved Wikipedia therefore I never provide any invalid source on any of my article, that was pleasure to know you keep in touch!! :) --Faizanalivarya (talk) 16:29, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Dear friend Faizanalivarya, I send you my warm salam. You do a great job and I respect you. I certainly was not criticising you. We seem to have similar topic interests on Wikipedia (I'm interested in Pakistani and Indian writers and politicians) so our paths may cross from time to time. I hope so. Best wishes. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 16:39, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Wow, as you called me a friend, so that will not be good, if you are not on my Facebook and you may join our Youth Welfare Organization as well. Do add me on my Facebook so we can talk on SKYPE, you seems very nice and interesting person, I am very friendly as well, so I would love to talk to you and share our knowledge with each other, certainly I would love to work with you in any project you like. I hope you don't mind if I call you brother, thanks my friend and my brother.--Faizanalivarya (talk) 17:27, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh Faizanalivarya, you are very kind. Thank you for your offer. But I don't have Facebook. I used to use it, but I ended up spending too much time on it. But we could happily work on any projects together on Wikipedia and if you ever needed someone to assist with any editors deliberately being vandals or reverting your edits for no reasonable cause, you could let me know and I would try to help. Is the Youth Welfare Organisation on the internet? I would love to read about it. Best wishes, George. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 06:33, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

The article Actuarial Society of South Africa HIV/AIDS Models has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable: no indication or plausible claim that satisfies guidelines, refs all 1st party so no reliable sources

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Zakir Naik

Dear Faizanalivarya, I hope you are well. I will be very grateful if you will please have a look at the harmful edits being done to the Zakir Naik page by user: 108.199.119.44. He or she is just removing whole blocks of referenced text that he disagrees with. Thanks very much. Regards, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Dear George, I certainly had a look on those edits, that was pure act of vandalism therefore It was reverted automatically by anti vandal bot, even I message on his talk page as well.-- Faizan Munawar Varyachatcontributions 13:15, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Dear Faizanalivarya. Thanks for posting and your concerns about vandalism. Adding opinions and then stating someone else is vandalizing does not constitute vandalism. Content was removed with a proper reference in the notes in which Zakir Naik says the exact opposite of what was claimed. It is very unprofessional to label individuals as vandals and to allow George to share their own personal views rather than actual facts. I am really let down by this group of contributors due to their unprofessional conduct. Rather than referring to the references I sourced in the comments, they decided to have a reversion war to propagate their own opinions. Thank again for recognizing the lack of professionalism that was demonstrated by George.
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Actuarial Society of South Africa HIV/AIDS Models is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Actuarial Society of South Africa HIV/AIDS Models until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 15:24, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

June 2012

Thank you for trying to keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at BlackBerry Quark, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage newer editors. Please read Wikipedia:NOTVAND for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. Thank you. Please desist from cutting and pasting from BlackBerry Electron. You are pasting text which is pertinent to that device and even references it - not the BlackBerry Quark. In addition, your prose is WP:EDITORIALIZING and does not conform to a WP:NPOV. It is inappropriate content. RichardOSmith (talk) 20:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Please do not assume ownership of articles such as BlackBerry Quark. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. Your comment at the head of that page instructing others on how they should edit it is inappropriate. I have removed it. RichardOSmith (talk) 20:25, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello User:Faizanalivarya, I hope you are well and happy. I have been trying to help you with some of the pages you have made by tidying up the English expression, format of citations, etc. I notice that you add this to almost all the pages you create: FEEL FREE TO CONTRIBUTE FOR BETTERMENT OF WIKIPEDIA however Please don't vandalize or propose it for anything such as deleting on the page if you think that this article has any problems or not satisfying any policy of Wikipedia (which is not possible but still) KINDLY LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON TALK PAGE There is no need whatsoever to add this and it is not actually as helpful as you seem to think. It creates the impression that you are treating other editors as likely vandals, which they are not. I respectfully suggest you stop adding it. My best wishes, as always, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 13:42, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Wikifying

Please stop your mindless over linking. You are creating work for other people to correct your errors. And check that the links are correct before saving pages. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 23:34, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

This over linking amounts to vandalism. Are you aware of the guidlines on linking. Stop it. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 23:45, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Dear Cuddy, With all your due respect and my honest apologies for that, and I am certainly aware of it that over linking is an act of vandalism, you may undo that, It must be a mistake my Mozilla got crashed therefore everything was messed up when it restarted, kindly accpet my honest apologies and thanks for informing me cheers, peace, bye -- Faizan Munawar Varya chat contributions 23:49, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Please review all your edits identified as "wikified" between 20.04 and 22.42 on 1 July 2012. Many of the links are incorrect or are overlinking and it is your reponsibility to correct these errors. Thank you. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 04:09, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Not sure what you are trying to do here, but it's breaking format.  -- WikHead (talk) 23:34, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Very well Faizanalivarya. Stay well, and happy editing!  -- WikHead (talk) 00:38, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
  • BTW, I'm quite delighted that someone else has decided to use my talk-page editnotice. I should probably point out however, that it says the exact opposite of your notice posted below (highlighted in blue). You might want to adjust that to avoid giving off a mixed message.  -- WikHead (talk) 02:16, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Link titles (and format): Some friendly advice

Dear friend Faizan, I hope you are well. You may notice that, on several of the pages you also seem to be editing, I have been re-formatting some of the citations. That is because you or someone else are not citing the sources accurately. I am absolutely sure there is no bad intent, of course, but it is not right to add different titles to the sources than the titles actually already given in the sources themselves. For example, on the Abdul Qadir Patel page, one of the citations (footnote 17) was:

Peace keeping meeting [I have added bold here purely for clarity]

I am afraid that this is giving this link a title — "Peace keeping meeting" — that you or someone else has made up, rather than the correct title found within the article itself, which is: "Two political activists among six fall prey to violence." Moreover, your link does not say what source this is from, who wrote it, who published it, etc.

This is how I have corrected it:

Staff report. "Two political activists among six fall prey to violence". Daily Times, 25 May 2012. Retrieved 4 July 2012.

Now a reader can tell that this is a newspaper article (Daily Times), who wrote it (staff report), when it was published, when it was accessed.

You might want to go to that page and see how I created the citation. I used a standard Wikipedia template designed for citations to online publications. Given that you create new pages (which are excellent) you might want to consider using this template from now on. This is just a friendly recommendation. I'm just trying to help.

Best wishes, as always, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 07:25, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Don't be discouraged

Dear Faizan, I have noticed the harsh criticisms you have received on your talk page today. I just want to encourage you not to take the criticism to heart. Don't be down. Some of the comments were too harsh, in my opinion, and you shouldn't let them discourage you. You seem to me to be a very well-intended Wikipedia user. Keep it up. My best wishes.
