Hey Kww, thanks for the word, I'm not interested in having anyone blocked or wars, i just want peaceful editing that can be discussed. Unfortunately it became warnings for little mistakes. However if the problem persists I will take your advise, Thanks.--PeterGriffinTalk 13:05, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New billboard chart policy[edit]

As per consensus at WP:record charts there is a new guide to using Billboard Charts available at Billboard charts guide. Mainstream Top 40 (Pop Songs) (formerly known just as Pop Songs) is no longer deemed a component chart - there is no evidence to support this motion.Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:35, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality/Ethnicity[edit]

Hey Kww, thanks for the message. Right now, the MOS for bios as it regards this issue is I think somewhat contradictory (see my post on the Nelly Furtado page), and that's at least causing some part of this issue as well. I agree that, as presently written, the MOS supports including one's nationality at birth in the lead paragraph, although as I mentioned some portions of it seem contradictory on this point. Anyway, this is largely an academic debate for the purposes of this article, since so far anyway, nobody has been able to produce a decent source saying she's got dual citizenship, and we all agree that mere ethnicity, when not related to someone's notability, clearly isn't enough to include it in the lead. — e. ripley\talk 20:45, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, when you go to Category:Diamond Certification albums, it says that at the top, but it likely should in the category name. Might be cause for renaming the category, but Diamond Certification is a pretty exclusive membership, as can be seen by the list here, so I don't think we should just remove the category without replacing it with something to group it with similar articles. A less vague title like is used for Category:Singles certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America might be more suitable. Cheers.--kelapstick (talk) 05:21, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what the right solution is, but grouping the albumsover 10 million is a good idea in my opinion, and the category is named completely wrong ("Diamond Certification album" sounds like the album is used for certification), I think it might have been a mistranslation. I have been reading mistranslations for two weeks now so I just autocorrect them in my head, so sometimes I just don't get how wrong something is (you ever try to read a law that was originally written in Russion, translated to Mongolian, and then translated to English? It's "interesting" to say the least).
The RIAA website calls sales over 10 million a "Diamond Award", so I don't know what the correct terminolgy to use is, a link to the disussion at some of the music WikiProjects might help too. At least keeping the articles categorized for now will make changing over the cagetory a little easier, should the decision be to keep the category. Cheers, --kelapstick (talk) 05:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GOODCHARTS table[edit]

Hello Kevin, how do I edit the Wikipedia:GOODCHARTS table? When I click the edit button on the page the table doesn't come up. Jayy008 (talk) 20:25, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Kevin. Yeah, I agree, it's a good idea. Btw I added United States to the table, just the basic charts, no confusion about components or whatever, just simply main album, main single, certifications and radio songs. Jayy008 (talk) 21:04, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment on Phone Video[edit]

Apparently you did not understand my comment on the talk page of the article Video Phone (song). I have tried to explain more.[3] Good song articles that I have seen cover the song's lyrics. Your edits[edit]

Hi. I don't know what are you doing, but your edits (this, this, and this) are wrong. Here, there are two sources that describe the band's genre as progressive metal (an Orlando Sentinel review and a Shoutweb article). For this, there are again two sources (a BBC article and a EMI news). Here there is a sources from Billboard that clearly states the peak position is number 34. I think that these your edits are simple mistakes, but should be corrected. Best regards.--80.117.217.133 (talk) 17:43, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kevin, I already started looking for other sources that quote MDJ, and am finding some. Since I'm not so familiar to the whole building a case idea, I would appreciate if we could do it this way. Before we go and present it there, I'd like to have a very solid case if possible, so I'd like to build it on Jamie's or my talk page and have you look it over and tell us what we are missing or whats good. I'll let you know so you can review it step by step to make sure we have a good case. Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk 04:19, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kevin, here is a copy of the post on Jay's page, in case you don't see it. "Well I have found quite a few more sources that mention and quote MDJ as a reliable and reputable source. Here they are. One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, (they are including the first 2 I presented)."Thanks--PeterGriffinTalk 17:03, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basically I don't think it should be used when we have official sources present. However in this case such as Australia prior to 1997 and New Zealand and maybe a few more, we really have no way to source them. I have gone to ax for help, but he told me everything he knows and does not have the books in his possession. I have also searched for them for a while in various libraries, and have not been successful. So I would like to use it for Certifications on those cases, and well as those type of sale related problems in the future. I have specific examples listed in the top portion of the article.--PeterGriffinTalk 06:33, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I also found this BET source here.--PeterGriffinTalk 07:17, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Video Phone" - Single Page[edit]

I don't want to start an edit war, so I'll just discuss this matter with you, here. You credited Lady GaGa as a writer of the "Video Phone" remix, but used her real name. I did a little research on other pages featuring GaGa's music before making any changes. I've noticed that Lady GaGa is used in her writing credits, not her real name. This isn't a serious issue, so if you wish to have it remain like that, I don't really care. D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 23:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment quarrel[edit]

Hey Kevin, sorry about that, it's just I don't appreciate comments like that. Just because someone is an Admin doesn't make them more experienced or capable of watching over someone. From what Iv'e seen of his editing, I do believe what I wrote, believe with Admin tools you would never start that kind of edit war/quarrel/abuse of power. But even though do it to defend you, your right that it wasn't the right place for it. Sorry....:)...(I'm liking the odds so far!!!)--PeterGriffinTalk 06:26, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Gaga songwriter row[edit]

I defintely don't want an edit war, but I agree with D4c3nt3n0 (talk). As a songwriter, Lady Gaga must be credited by her stage name to ensure that it is a reliable source and that it is used via her writing credits. She does not like to be called Stefani Germanotta, so please can you stop removing Lady Gaga as a songwriter and replacing it with Stefani Germanotta as this is likely to cause confusion should people not understand who she is if they have never heard of her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlieJS13 (talkcontribs) 17:02, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war[edit]

What do you think of this?[edit]

My first impulse is to remove it, but as it is on someone's User Page, I'm hesitant. Haven't seen this before. User:SitDownOnIt created Candy (Aggro Santos song), which was tagged for speedy deletion. Article's history shows [4] the user removed the tag (only to have someone reinstate it). SitDownOnIt then redirected the article [5] and moved the entire thing over to her User Page, where it sits now, complete with categories and images [6]. Lindsay Lohan charts[edit]

Ok...I'll try and find another source for the charts. Her album, Speak, was certified gold in Taiwan because of its success and I'm trying to find the chart rankings for her album and singles there. Her single, "Rumors", peaked at #2 and "First" peaked at #8. Since these are her highest topping singles in the world, it would seem like they would be included on the charts. If you could help me find a link for the chart listings, please let me see it. Also, if you could give me a website that shows the Taiwan Top 10 or whatever it is called, that would be great. Hopefully, the website will have an archive that will show when it charted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Travismullins1996 (talkcontribs) 23:20, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do we technically need a source?[edit]

Do we need a source for the Taiwan charts? Why is Top40-charts.com not a reliable source? If you look on the Taiwan Top 10 on Top40-charts (http://www.top40-charts.com/chart.php?cid=14), it has the same chart listing as this website (http://youmix.co.uk/chart/20), meaning its most-likely not false information. There is no archive so I wasn't able to locate charts in 2004 or 2005, but do we technically need a source? The other charts do not have a source. I wasn't able to locate anything about "Rumors" peaking at #2 in China, but I really want to find chart listings for her songs in Taiwan. Her album went Gold there and was very successful, so that information would best be on the chart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Travismullins1996 (talkcontribs) 18:57, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa, whoa...No need to challenge. If I can find a source, I'll add it in. Until then, her album was certified Gold in Taiwan and Australia. I've got sources for both. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Travismullins1996 (talkcontribs) 02:12, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Charts[edit]

I changed it so it matched with the appearance of the dates on the article. Also the 'th' makes it look a mess, and is not the standard way dates are presented on Wikipedia. Also, there is no need at all to write 2010 after each date, it is blatantly obvious what year it is. It was just a general cleanup. Stevvvv4444 (talk) 18:33, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also noticed the dates in the source are the dates that chart week ended and not the actual day it was named #1. Maybe for this purpose of the article this is rectified.Stevvvv4444 (talk) 18:37, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to sort that out go for it, but if you are the one who added all the citations originally, the end few are somehow messd up. I went to add this weeks (which would be dated April 24 on the archive site), yet the previous week on the article is dated April 10 not the 17???? 18:43, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

UK R&B Chart[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you reverted my change stating that the source was correct. NO it wasn't and still isn't, the citation of this weeks chart links to last weeks chart. The most recent chart on the source website is titled April 24 (as this is when it expires). You have linked todays announced chart to the one that ended yesterday!! And now for your first official mistake![edit]

Congrats on your recent RFA. You have officially made your first mistake as an admin and I am now here to scold you! Ok, not really; just letting you know that when you move a WP:SPI case to "pending close" please stick the {{SPIclose}} template at the bottom (with no parameters). This adds the page to Category:SPI cases pending close and lets clerks know that it's believed everything is set to go and should be ready for archiving (that way, if we find something a bit off, we know whether it was a mistake or it just hasn't been done yet). Anyway, thanks for your hard work and getting involved immediately! I look forward to working with you more in the future. --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 07:31, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Congrat's and well-deserved, Kww. Maybe you could kick off your adminship with a usable talk page? ;D Best, AGK 23:15, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well done for achieving promotion to adminship. Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:49, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RE[edit]

See WT:PW where it was discussed it should be deleted. Pretty much agreed that it isn't important.--WillC 05:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ANI for User: Lukek26[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Ok...I'm sorry[edit]

I'm sorry fo my recent edits, but the user Genieofmusic really gets me angry...I come with sources that are reliable, saying about Blackout sales being 3.1 million, but hew lowers them to 2.5 million, leaving all the sources, and when I asked him why, he said that I was gay and crazy like all Britney fans...and i was supporting the other user, because he had reliable sources, because, as we all know, britney.com is not britney's official page... I will stop fighting with him, but it is the truth, he is always lowering britney's sales, if you don't believe me go to wikipedia in spanish, portuguesse and all the other languages, and you will see...--GenieOFbritney (talk) 23:31, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Holographic Metaphoric Mathematics[edit]

Hello Kww. a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Patent nonsense I have been adding more information on my user page. Would you please review for pure bunk check. I've gone through and colated supporting sources and while information still needs to be added, I would like your input. Hopefully it qualifies as fringe science even though I know it's right on the money. Thanks! Aint21hexster —Preceding undated comment added 23:46, 23 April 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Blackout[edit]

"(Changed protection level of Blackout (Britney Spears album): Edit warring / Content dispute ([edit=sysop] (indefinite) [move=sysop] (indefinite)))

This doesn't mean "indefinite". TbhotchTalk C. 04:24, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Reword: You indefinite full protected the article Blackout (Britney Spears album), though you said that the protection "expiry=Apr 30, 2010". TbhotchTalk C. 04:45, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Faroe Islands[edit]

I disagree with you, i mean a lot of Faroese singers give reference to this site, ok it doesn't seem a trustable singles chart, but can be used to show the countries radio station statistics. I will not add again the chart, but in my opinion, the information of the countries which have small population should have been used too. --Triancula (talk) 05:41, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Holographic Metaphoric Mathematics[edit]

I have seen your query at Wikipedia:Fringe theories/Noticeboard#Holographic Metaphoric Mathematics. I have answered there. Probably you would have seen my response anyway, but I thought there was no harm in making sure. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:51, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rokstarr[edit]

Hello Kevin, can you look at This the charts and release history, it's lighter than the rest and it's odd, I can't see anything wrong when I go to edit it, yet it looks funny. Jayy008 (talk) 17:22, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Kevin, I knew you'd figure it out! Jayy008 (talk) 21:59, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriter row[edit]

I would "advise" you to give me a warning before you decide to prevent me editing articles. Should this happen again, I will contact another administrator about you. CharlieJS13 (talk) 18:13, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Macro[edit]

Hello Kevin, what's your opinion on not having Billboard in the names of the charts (apart from Hot 100), if you agree can you move it to the macro? Jayy008 (talk) 18:32, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow[edit]

question about User:CharlieJS13[edit]

as part of your measures you've asked him not to remove content from talk pages... does that include his own talk page? Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:56, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kww, if you are indeed mentoring CharlieJS13, I would like to discuss their edit here. I have warned them on their talk page, but would appreciate your opinion as well. Thank you. — Satori Son 19:45, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing[edit]

Another thing you should know is that I have a mental disability, and I expect to be treated fairly and to be treated with the same respect as others. Please understand my situation and make "positive" comments on my talk page. CharlieJS13 (talk 21:52, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is irrelevant to the subject matter that has been discussed. However, I do not wish to be spoken to like that please as you did with your last comment on my talk page, considering that you still do not seem to understand my personal situation. That was a fairly harsh comment you placed, and I do not expect to be treated like that, even though I understand the policies regarding my "mentorship". CharlieJS13 (talk) 16;55, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Stupid Question: Street single?[edit]

Hi, Kevin. I just noticed the first sentence of A Milli, which says, "A Milli", abbreviated occasionally as "Milli", is the second official single, and the official street single from Lil Wayne's sixth studio album, Tha Carter III. What, pray tell, is a "street single"?

I fired up Google, which pointed me to Yahoo(!) where I read that "a street single comes out months before a regular one does. it's usually leaked underground or on the internet." So is a street single actually released by the record company/artist? If so, what makes it "street"? If not, why is it a single we mention in WP? How can there be an "official street single"?

Confused as usual, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 15:21, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

I'm sorry. I don't wish to get into an argument with you. It's just that I seem to have the same people contributing to my talk page that's all. CharlieJS13 (talk 18:52, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Need you to take a look at this[edit]

Hey, I need you to go trough a SPI. Its very important that you read through everything. From the beginning to the end. [9]

The NT account is exclusively used to do the exact same edits as AC, and so far no one has explained how its possible that the NT account contacted ACs sock. How this could have been a coincidence. Can you take a look at the evidence? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 19:00, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Book Sources[edit]

Hey Kevin, I have come across the book sources which I have previously been unable to find. I found them in the New York library, so I would like to include Mariah Carey's information using these sources. Can you please explain to me how to use and insert these book sources? Thanks.
