Roscigno is a small town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy.

For this reason Roscigno Vecchi (Old Roscigno) represents today an example of a XIX century rural town developed around a central square and a church not modified by modern architectural or infrastructural changes.

The first mention of Roscigno is in a document from 1086, in the XIV century was property of Carleto Monforte, followed by the Caracciolo family in 1543, in 1621 as a Duchy belonged to the Villany family.
