I finished the assignment for Deadline 5 (Week 9) -WANG XIAOLING

Hello, Professor, I am Wang Xiaoling from the collective intelligence. I completed 10 Wikipedia tasks that needed to be edited this week. Also, My two Chinese articles have been completed. https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:WANG_XIAOLING995/%E6%B2%99%E7%9B%92. please check, thank you!^^ WANG XIAOLING995 04:42, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WANG XIAOLING995, Ok! The next step is to move the articles from your sandbox/draft/userspace to the mainspace. So please publish them. Then you will need to add WP:CATEGORIES (zh:维基百科:頁面分類) and WP:INTERWIKI (zh:Help:跨语言链接) to the other language versions. Adding some images would be good too! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:59, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus,Hello professor. All tasks have been completed.

Image added to this article.^ - ^

2)商品化/Commodification(https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%95%86%E5%93%81%E5%8C%96). Because the subject of this article is very abstract, it is difficult to add image.

3) The part about Zhao Lixin's dispute has been translated.(https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zhao_Lixin&diff=1019789977&oldid=1018266494) -----The sections of week 8 replied to the professor, but the professor did not reply to me, so I replied again in the sections of week 9.

4)Please check this week's Extra Credit blog article!^^Thank you very much WANG XIAOLING995 06:31, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WANG XIAOLING995, Excellent job publishing the articles (and with your blogs). You are right that illustrating commodification is hard, so I challenge you - can you come up with a picture? Sometimes inspiration takes many forms. Consider, for example, the picture at unrequited love. The difficulty of illustrating such concepts can also make for a good extra credit blog too. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:07, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus, Hello professor, adding pictures has been completed,https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E5%95%86%E5%93%81%E5%8C%96&diff=65369914&oldid=65365808 please check. Thank you! WANG XIAOLING995 12:23, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
WANG XIAOLING995, Interesting. How does a vaccum cleaner relate to commodification? What was commodified here? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:47, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus,Hello professor. Lighten the lives of domestic workers and boost sales of goods (vacuum cleaners) by replacing the commercialization of labor-saving household devices - vacuum cleaners. WANG XIAOLING995 06:19, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
WANG XIAOLING995, Good argument - do you have a reliable source for this? Remember, Wikipedia is not a place to present our own arguments (see WP:NOR/zh:维基百科:非原创研究). It would be ok for an extra credit blog - but for Wikipedia, we need a reference. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:01, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus, Hello professor^^. I have added the source, please check~~Thank you! https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E5%95%86%E5%93%81%E5%8C%96&diff=65459714&oldid=65459668 WANG XIAOLING995 10:05, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Assignment Deadline 5 (Week 9): Jung Eunjin & Yoon Chanmi

Hello, professor. I'm Eunjin Jung student who taking Sociology of Everyday Life.

We are almost done translating Cognitive bias to 인지 편향! But we have a questions.

Cognitive bias articles have recently been revised by other users. Then do we have to translate all these updated contents?

And we would appreciate it if you could advise us on how to work on 8.See also, 9.References, 10.Further Reading, 11. External links in Cognitive bias article. Should we translate everything as it is? Or do we have to research and add the contents?

We're still working on another article(Women in South Korea). We are researching an academic paper as your advice.

We'll be waiting for your feedback. Thank you for reading!--Eunjin Jung (talk) 11:05, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Eunjin Jung, While it is good to keep translations up to date, I do not see any significant changes in the cognitive bias article (changes since early March are minor). If you are referring to another article, please provide a link so I can review it.
With regards to sections 8+. See also is not very important - you can just keep the entries that have Korean Wikipedia equivalents. References should be auto-populated with translated footnotes and you should not need to edit anything manually Further reading is moderately useful but not very important (and in English). I'd suggest trying to add Korean works there (books and academic articles) rather than copying content from English.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and keep up the good work! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:58, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, professor. We finished working on the Cognitive bias to 인지 편향 article first! And the academy papers/articles on Women in South Korea article are collected in my sandbox, so can we use them? Please check! We are going to finish adding this academy articles to Women in South Korea within this week, but if you don't recommend it, we will stop working. And we're going to look into "the latest" articles further.--Eunjin Jung (talk) 01:38, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Eunjin Jung, Good job with the translation; I encourage you to submit your articles to ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 for feedback from experienced Korean Wikipedians (and extra recognition & credit). The soruces at User:Eunjin Jung/sandbox are a good start, but except the first one, they are not academic, but newspaper-level. They are a good start, but you should consult more academic sources (books and journals). You can find many academic works on this topic using Google Scholar: [1]. Deadline 5 (Week 9) (2) - Subin Choi

Hello professor : ) I posted an article after viewing the last Deadline 5 (Week 9) talk message replies.

https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%ED%81%B4%EB%A6%AD_%EB%B2%A0%EC%9D%B4%ED%8A%B8

However, ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 is not an auto-authenticated user, so I couldn't.

Please check the posted article. Thank you. --Subin3754 (talk) 17:16, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Subin3754, If you have trouble editing protected pages, ask for help, for example at ko:위키백과토론:알고 계십니까. Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:40, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 To add content, it says that 5 items must be maintained, but there are no 5 items to write here. This part was for extra credit. Do you mind if I don't? Have you checked the link to the existing translated article?--Subin3754 (talk) 15:05, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Subin3754, I am afraid I don't know what "5 items" are you referring to. In either case, this is indeed just an extra credit suggestion and you don't have to do so, however, I still believe your work is eligible for Korean DYK and you deserve more recognition for it. I cannot help you much on Korean Wikipedia directly, but you can ask for help in the forum linked, I am sure otheR Korean volunteers would be happy to offer assistance. But if you are ok with not nominating it, I am fine with this too, as you said, it is just an extra credit suggestion (but one that would also look good for your digital portfolio). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:02, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello professor! Finally ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 I solved it.

https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%9C%84%ED%82%A4%EB%B0%B1%EA%B3%BC:%EC%95%8C%EA%B3%A0_%EA%B3%84%EC%8B%AD%EB%8B%88%EA%B9%8C

The first sentence at the top (클릭 베이트(clickbait)) is what I posted. Please check. Thank you.--Subin3754 (talk) 07:29, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Subin3754, I see. I am not sure if this wasn't removed by User:Sangjinhwa whom I'll ping here. You can also ask for assistance here: ko:위키백과:디스코드 대화방). Good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:56, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question of references / Ji Su Jung, Su Young Han

Hello professor!! We are Ji Su Jung, and Su Young Han.

We checked the professor's feedback!

We thought a lot about the areas you were concerned about, and we eagerly searched for scholars to solve this problem.

However, we couldn't find the thesis and references to support the paragraph.

In this case, should we delete the paragraphs and contents without references?

We look forward to your response. Thank you! --Swamming (talk) 04:57, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Swamming, Unless you think the content is an obvious error, I expect that sources exist. You may have to go to a library and browse through some non-digitized books to find them, however. If you do so, remember to write down page numbers consulted. We still have over a month left in our course - I am sure that's plenty of time to find references - try your best! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:04, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Piotrus: Hello Professor! We are Ji Soo Jung, and Su young Han. We checked your answer. We eagerly try to find paragraphs without data. However, the deadline for this assignment is until week 9, and the deadline is until today, so is it okay to move even one part to the article, Professor? For the lack of reference, we will continue to search and update the data in the future. Sorry to keep asking questions. We look forward to your reply! --Swamming (talk) 11:56, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Swamming, it is ok. The assignment will be graded later - this deadline is to show me the article as hopefully finished, but then (as I did) I will tell you what to fix for the 'final' version. So you completed the deadline successfully, but I suggest you now try to find the references for all content before we make it public later. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:17, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I finished Deadline 5 (week9) / Younji Ha

Hello professor, I finished my assignment. please check. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%82%AC%EC%9A%A9%EC%9E%90:Younjihaa/%EC%97%B0%EC%8A%B5%EC%9E%A5#%EA%B2%BD%EC%A0%9C%EC%A0%81_%EB%AC%B8%EC%A0%9C (I'm still adding Some link and footnote marker)

--Younjihaa (talk) 10:19, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Younjihaa, Your translation looks good but indeed you need to add references (footnotes). Please let me know when this step is finished. After that we should be able to publish your article. Keep up the good work! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:05, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Professor, I finished inserting the footnote! Please check! --Younjihaa (talk) 13:08, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Younjihaa, Excellent, now you can publish your article. Then please submit your articles to ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 for feedback from experienced Korean Wikipedians (and extra recognition & credit). Good job! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:19, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A question before the deadline - Jaewook Bae

Hello, professor. May I submit the Wikipedia document with only necessary elements? My topic is World Government. I thought of various organizations such as the United Nations and NAFTA, but it is too difficult because it contains the contents of the world's "single government" that has never been implemented. I'm trying my best to translate it, but I'm having a lot of difficulties because there are so many abstract and biblical words on the subject of world government. These contents(;abstract and biblical words) are not translated well, and even editing makes me unable to understand them. And the length of the existing English document is too vast. I will wait your reply. Thank you. --Plusbae00 (talk) 15:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Plusbae00, It is ok to make a simplified (shorter) translation. At the same time, learning about new vocabulary is one of the side learning goals of our assignment, so I encourage you to look at it in a positive light - how much can we learn in the process of translating an article? You can even write an extra credit blog about this! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:16, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Piotrus, Okay! I will try my best and write a blog about my difficulties and overcoming after the assignment! Thank you.--Plusbae00 (talk) 08:39, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline 5 (Week 9)- YUNCHANMI

Hello, professor. My draft article has been completed. Please check it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chanmi0618 (talkcontribs) 00:48, May 1, 2021 (UTC)

Dear YUNCHANMI. Please include a link to your project. Also, please remember to WP:SIGN - you may want to revisit Wikipedia:Training/For students module from Deadlines 1-2. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:20, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chaehyoseung, Good progress. Please make sure to convert external links to footnotes. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:25, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, professor. I retried the wiki assignment. I'm not sure if the modification I made is correct, but please check it. Thank you. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%B4%88%EC%95%88:%EB%94%94%EC%A7%80%ED%84%B8_%EB%85%B8%EB%8F%99#Foot_Note --Chaehyoseung (talk) 20:35, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chaehyoseung, I am afraid this is not correct. Please watch our videos about adding references and writing sample articles, where you should see how I demonstrate the correct method of doing so. You should also repeat the Wikipedia:Training/For students module on 'adding citations'. The on-wiki manual is here: Help:Footnotes / ko:위키백과:각주. Also read about Wikipedia:Citation templates. Good luck and ask me further questions as needed! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:51, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your record re deletion of articles

Hi Piotrus. So, I've followed your career regarding deletion of articles (via WP:AFD and WP:PROD) with interest for some time, and in a bit more detail lately.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, and nothing personal, but business is business: I'm sufficiently unhappy with your record that I feel it's an unacceptable outlier for what's expected. Whether it's a problem of ideology, attitude, aptitude, or conception of what we're trying to do here, doesn't much matter. It's a question of actions.

So, are you willing to have a frank discussion about this problem, with an eye toward you seeing the advantage to your applying your skills to some of the many other fields here besides article deletion at which you might be more skilled (and sincere thanks for your many contributions in these other fields!), or undertake a program of education and/or improvement of your perspective regarding deletion/retention of articles?

It's up to you of course. But if you don't want to, I must say that I'm going to feel compelled to request a more general review of the matter. Your call. Herostratus (talk) 23:44, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Herostratus, I am happy to hear any constructive feedback, nor am I offended by frank comments. But since you mentioned "an outlier". According to WP:AFDSTATS, when looking at AfDs created by the two of us (checkbox "Only show AfD's that were nominated by this user" ticket), we are pretty much identical: both of us have the same ratio of "number of AfD's where vote matched result" (63.6% for me, 64.1% for you) and "ignoring the no consensus" (69.1% for me, 69.5% for you). Well, you have a 0.5% better nomination ratio... Without the checkbox, so checking for all votes, my numbers are actually a bit better ("where vote matched result " - 74% for me, 71% for you; ignoring no consensus, 80.8% for me, and 78.9% for you). So if I have a problem, you appear to have the same one, if not the slightly bigger one, yourself :P I'd therefore suggest that before you suggest to others they need "a program of education and/or improvement", you consider the lessons of Matthew 7:5. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:43, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. You may be right. I'm looking at the data right now. My beef is with some particular cases, which are enough to make my spidey-sense tingle. But we'll see. Yes Matthew 7:5, right, yes I'll follow up on the comparison and all. Well I just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'm taking a gander at the issue, so's you wouldn't be blindsided should anything worth further discussion come up. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I'd rather alarm than ambush you. If I'm wrong, I'll apolgize. Herostratus (talk) 14:29, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Herostratus, We are cool. And feel free to bring up particular cases. We all make mistakes of one sort or the other. Assuming the 'results which don't match the final consensus' can be described simply as mistakes. The spectrum is rarely white to black... Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 18:17, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I finished my week9 assignment, please check it /PARK CHAEJEONG

Hello, professor. I've finished my Week 9 assignment(weekly Wikipedia editing, blogging). Please let me know if I've done anything wrong..!

Also, please give me feedback on writing Wikipedia my 'Sandbox: Beauty Store'. Please let me know if there is anything I need to supplement. Thank you:):) Have a good weekend! Pkccccj 13:49, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pkccccj, Excellent. Your weekly edits are very nice, and the beauty shop article is shaping very well. Things to improve: 1) add images (if you cannot find any on Wikimedia Commons, you can take some yourself!) 2) Make sure that each paragraph has a reference 3) You need to rewrite some conten to avoid WP:ESSAY style. A sentence like "Before looking at the background of the beauty store, I would like to briefly explore the history of the beauty industry", while grammatically correct and acceptable for other assignments, is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please also read WP:OR and ensure that you don't present your views or conclusions. On Wikipedia, we have to impartially summarize what others wrote on this topic. 4) For the references, please make sure each contains information on author, date, publisher, in case of Korean title - also English translation of it. 5) This source is a blog and not allowed on Wikipedia per WP:SPS. week 9-LiuXinlei

Hello, professor. I've finished my Week 9 weekly Wikipedia editing and Please check it and give me some feedback!Thank you!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rae041/sociology_in_china#Further_reading --Rae041😃User talk:Rae041 09:25, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rae041, Good progress. Things to fix and improve: 1) Please make sure each paragraph, and preferably each sentence has a clear reference (footnote). Unreferenced paragraphs cannot be accepted. Sentences like "Chinese sociologists believe that the development of Chinese sociology to the present is the result of historical accumulation." need a clear reference. Who are those Chinese sociologists who believe this? 2) Avoid WP:ESSAY-like style: "our country". China is not "our country" - it is not my country, nor the country of most readers of Wikipedia. 3) In your draft, you added content that disrupts chronological history, discussing events related to '1940' before 1920s. Please make sure such confusion is avoided. 3) Add hyperlinks (blue/red links) to terms most readers won't be familiar with, for example "From Xunzi's group studies". Who or what is Xunzi? 4) Some sentences are meaningless. "Since 2000, the study of the history of Chinese sociology has entered a deepening stage". What is a "deepening stage"? Please make sure each sentence is clear and avoid writing sentences that do not. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:17, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2021 May newsletter

The second round of the 2021 WikiCup has now finished; it was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 61 points to advance to Round 3. There were some impressive efforts in the round, with the top eight contestants all scoring more than 400 points. A large number of the points came from the 12 featured articles and the 110 good articles achieved in total by contestants, as well as the 216 good article reviews they performed; the GAN backlog drive and the stay-at-home imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been partially responsible for these impressive figures.

Our top scorers in Round 2 were:

  • Botswana The Rambling Man, with 2963 points from three featured articles, 20 featured article reviews, 37 good articles, 73 good article reviews, as well as 22 DYKs.
  • New York (state) Epicgenius, with 1718 points from one featured article, 29 good articles, 16 DYKs and plenty of bonus points.
  • Republic of Venice Bloom6132, with 990 points from 13 DYKs and 64 "In the news" items, mostly recent deaths.
  • Hog Farm, with 834 points from two featured articles, five good articles, 14 featured article reviews and 15 good article reviews.
  • England Gog the Mild, with 524 points from two featured articles and four featured article reviews.
  • England Lee Vilenski, with 501 points from one featured article, three good articles, six featured article reviews and 25 good article reviews.
  • Sammi Brie, with 485 points from four good articles, eight good article reviews and 27 DYKs, on US radio and television stations.
  • Ktin, with 436 points from four good articles, seven DYKs and 11 "In the news" items.

Please remember that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of Round 2 but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in Round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them (except for at the end of each round, when you must claim them before the cut-off date/time). When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. W9 Weekly edits, Deadline5 / Sangmin Choe

Dear Professor Piotrus

I've done 10 edits this week! Those are what I did. And I finished Deadline5. If there's something wrong, please let me know! Thanks!

LH land speculation scandal in South Korea Tragedy of commons

Somsorosomsom, Your English article is quite good, please please ensure that each paragraph has at least one reference. I see a number of short paragraphs without any references. Also please use Grammarly or a similar service to ensure that the grammar and vocabulary issues are solved. For the Korean article, it seems almost finished - when you are sure you translated all content, please publish it. Deadline 5 (Week 9) - Shinhee Kim (김신희), Minkyo Jeong(정민교)

Hello Professor, we have almost finished our main articles. Please check out our articles and give us feedback.

 English Wikipedia
 Korean Wikipedia

By the way, we have a few questions. In the case of English Wikipedia, there are several example sentences for each paragraph, and it is difficult to translate them. This is because the sentences are related to prosody derived from pronunciation and rhyme and number of letters, and are appropriate examples when pronounced in Korean. How should we solve this problem? Thank you :) Kyokyoyaaaaa talk💬 14:04, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kyokyoyaaaaa, Your Korean article is progressing nicely. Please make sure that each paragraph is referenced.
Regarding the English one. Sometimes it is impossible to translate rhyme. In such a case, you can just provide a non-rhyming English translation, as well as the transcription of Korean rhyming. (Ideally, you should provide both the hangul 가루는 칠수록 고와지고, 말은 할수록 거칠어진다, the romanization "galuneun chilsulog gowajigo, mal-eun halsulog geochil-eojinda" amd a translation that makes more sense that what I get from the machine translation ("The more you paint the powder, the harder it gets, and the more you talk, the rougher it gets." - which saddly doesn't make much sense).
Please also ensure each paragraph has a reference. I see a number of paragraphs that don't have them. Also, please use Grammarly or a similar service to ensure that the grammar and vocabulary issues are solved. For references, please ensure each work has also a title in English (don't remove Korean title, just add English translation). Check if the journal has an English name and if so, list both as well. For your article, I'd also suggest adding a section about the history of proverb study in Korean. What are the best known Korean paremiologists? What are some of the classic (most famous) books in the field? It would also be nice to try to add some pictures, perhaps of the famous scholars of Korean proverbs, or objects mentioned in them. Week 9: Youngsil Lee

Hello, professor! I completed all 10 Wikipedia edits this week. And I posted a picture on wikimedia commons! I also finished editing 'Soonpoong Clinic' for Wikipedia main project on Sandbox.( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Youngsil/sandbox) The news content has been added to the article according to the feedback you gave me before. Can I ask you to check if there are any changes? Thank you. Have a nice day. --Youngsil (talk) 14:05, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Youngsil, Thank you for asking for feedback - we have many items to fix:
  • Please look at the format common in similar articles on English Wikipedia, for example, the section "Character Introduction" is more likely known as...? (See for example this article for a hint). This will give you ideas what are the expected sections and how to title them. A big section that is missing is "reception". Did the show win awards? Was it well reviewed by newspapers and magazines?
  • Please use a service like Grammarly to proofread your text; for example the sentence "On the one hand, it is said to be similar to the role of a drummer in Pansori, Korea." suggests through its structure that Pansori is a town in Korea. On that note, please add hyperlinks to notable concepts that readers are unlikely to be familiar with, such as pansori (which is not a town, and which should not be capitalized, and on that note, now, ensure that you capitalize first words of sentences like the heading "way a script is written" - which is very unclear and should be renamed to something that is more clear). There are many other unclear sentences including the entires section titled "Ideologie" (which is not correctly spelled, either - its ideology - and it is likely not the correct word to use here anyway). "Soonpoong clinic has the characteristics of solidifying dominant ideology" - what do you mean by "solidifying dominant ideology"? This is not a correct term. "Even if Oh ji-myeong does childish actions and forces him to behave" - "does childish actions" is not a correct vocabulary. "Forces him to behave" - forces whom? "that most of the female characters fix the femininity of women and draw negative images compared to men by showing roles in charge of housework or male assistants" - this sentence also is unclear. Please avoid the use of machine translation as it creates numerous errors. There is much rewriting needed, I am afraid, and this is just for the currently written content - but you need to expand the article significantly too.
  • There is also a problem with parts of your article like the entire "Features as a sitcom" section which seems to have nothing to do with that show (Soonpoong Clinic). Remember, your topic is a particular sitcom and not sitcoms in general. Content that is not relevant to "Soonpoong Clinic " should be deleted (but you can move it to other articles if they are relevant for extra credit). Unless you have sources about specific features of Soonpoong Clinic that are unique to the show, or at least representative or such, this entire section will need to be deleted as it is not relevant to "Soonpoong Clinic" (just like an article about, let's say, Korea, should not try to define what a "country" or "a nation" are).
  • It's good that you found two Master Thesis that mention the show (Wooyeol and Kim) but you should both use them more, and look for higher quality articles (academic journals and books). Master Thesis are not considered to be very reliable as a source (but they are a good start). In either case, please provide URLs to those sources and format your references with Wikipedia:Citation templates.
We still have over a month to fix the issues, so I wish you good luck! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:21, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SIA YANG: Good job with your edits, they look fine! Lastly, please remember to WP:SIGN your posts on talk pages. For your images, please try to add WP:CATEGORIES. Also, while it is fine to experiment, for your next image upload please try to upload images of better quality (see commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Little Siamese Cat.jpg) or that show content that is more likely to be useful in illustrating articles. week 9

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jiwoo2020/sandboxHello, professor, I finished revising the article. I didn't know how to write the outline, so I added it under the page title.--Jiwoo2020 (talk) 16:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jiwoo2020, Good progress, the article looks a bit better, but you missed some recommendations I made 3 days ago, which I will partially repeat: 1) "Please summarize the contents in the WP:LEAD (abstract/introduction) at the top of thje article.". 2) "You still need to add more blue links, for example you should link Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (South Korea)." 3) "The section 'A pet in everyday life' should make it clear you are referring to South Korea." and others. Please fix the issues I outlined (I just listed three here - but you did not address most others) and then clearly tell me how you addressed them, in the format 1) I wrote the missing lead 2) I added new hyperlinks (list them), etc. I also noticed you added a new section entitled 'Information you need to know to raise pets in Korea.' Such a section is not an encyclopedia - see WP:NOTAGUIDE. As such, while some information you added may be relevant, it needs to be merged into the main article into more relevant sections. Lastly, please use a service like Grammarly to fix problems with language and grammar. For example you write "Exploring the recent developments in the cultural practice of eating dog meat, there is a debate over Korea eating dog meat around the world. They insist on protecting animal rights.". But Korea is a country, country doesn't eat meat. And who is "they"? You will need to carefully reread the article and fix such issues. Fortunately, we still have over a month to do so - so take your time and don't hesitate to ask me questions! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:53, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tichiel, Your articles appear to be well formatted, but it would be good to ensure all paragraphs have a reference and add images. Finally, I also encourage you to then submit your articles to ko:위키백과:알고 계십니까 for feedback from experienced Korean Wikipedians (and extra recognition & credit). DYK for The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery

On 3 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a report by Witold Pilecki, a Polish resistance fighter who infiltrated Auschwitz, was translated into English in 2012 as The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question, JeongYoon Oh

I have a question. I wrote my 2 topics (Vogue, Yong-gi-nae campaign) in English on the dashboard, and in fact, all the articles are written in Korean. If that's the case, should I have written 2 topics in Korean instead of English at first? Or does it matter if the language entered on the dashboard is English or Korean?

JeongYoon Oh, It's a minor technicality, but if your articles are on Korean Wikipedia it would be good to link them there in Korean as well. So if you can, please change it, it will ensure I am not confused during grading :) Thank you, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:42, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I really want to change the topic I wrote to Korean, but I don't know how. Could you tell me how to do it?--JeongYoon Oh (talk) 14:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

JeongYoon Oh, I think it will be ok if you just add Korean names of your topics (and remove the incorrect English links). To link a Korean article in a dashboard, after you click the 'assign article' button, you will need to change the default en.wikipedia.org (English Wikipedia) to ko.wikipedia.org (Korean one). I hope this helps - if not, please ask again and I'll try to clarify more! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:11, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Joanna Chlebowska-Krause

Ency? Coi, wystawy w dziwnych miejscach, wystawa w Muzeum Miasta Gdyni nieudokumentowana.

Deadline 6 (Week 10) / Jeongyoon Oh

I completed the assignment by leaving a review in another student's article. Please check! Thank you!

JeongYoon Oh, Great. I recommend whenever you mention a wiki article you also link it like ko:공산주의의 역사 this. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My Compliments

Hello Piotrus. I have to say that I am in awe of your (and your students) work here at the 'pedia. Since I added your talk page to my watchlist last year I've come back to it time and again to read the conversations you have with your students. Your help in instructing them how to edit is one of the most admirable things I've come across in my sixteen year career here. When I take a look at their edits I find that I am learning new things all the time. Many thanks as well as many congratulations to everyone involved. MarnetteD|Talk 20:08, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Possible work for your class

In conjunction with my work converting bare urls I have recently seen several new articles created by Ningsih ODINN (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). They have been a busy bee adding articles about historical Korean royalty. I am wondering if there is any value in having your students take a look at them. I am not in any way shape or form complaining about their creation but, as I don't read or speak Korean, I think the articles might benefit from someone checking them for accuracy as well as wiki-formatting. For example in the article Queen Munseong reference four reads "no issue" - does that mean they had no children or something else? I am aware that this may not be a task that you or your classes want to take on so no worries if that is the case. Best regards to you and every single person that you have helped to edit here. MarnetteD|Talk 20:08, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MarnetteD, Hmmm, as my Korean is limited I also have trouble verifying this. Have you asked for feedback at WT:KOREA? It contains more Wiki-experienced editors than my students, many of whom are still relative newcomers here. Although if Ningsih ODINN would like to speak in Korean to them, they can certainly do so. On that note, there is an entire Korean-language Wikipedia discord forum (see WP:DISCORD, ko:위키백과:디스코드 대화방) which is replacing the old real-time WP:IRC-style chat. It is a very good forum for people to ask for quick feedback (although it is less transparent than forum-style (and hence a bit slower) WP:HELPDESK/ko:위키백과:질문방). I hope those links help everyone here who may need to ask others for assistance. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:25, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response and links P. I'll look into it later today. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 12:22, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Róża Maria Goździewska

On 5 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Róża Maria Goździewska, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that eight-year-old Róża Maria Goździewska (pictured) was "the youngest child nurse" in the Warsaw Uprising? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Róża Maria Goździewska. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Róża Maria Goździewska), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Please give me feedback on the week10 assignment /PARK CHAEJEONG

Hello, professor. I read the article "Korean Proverbs" written by Minkyo Jeong(--Kyokyoyaaaaa) and Shinhee Kim on their sandbox this time and left feedback on the Minkyo(Kyokyoyaaaaa)'s talk page. Please check it.

Accidentally, I saw that you talking about her signature, when I was writing on the Minkyo's talk page. I also modified my signature when I first used Wikipedia, and I wonder if I got an additional score :)

Oh, and thank you for giving me feedback on the 'beauty store' I wrote in my sandbox. I am revising it as you say. But do you think there's anything to add about the content itself? Tell me if there is. Thank you! Have a nice day! Pkccccj 08:10, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
