Orphaned non-free image (Image:EFTA logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:EFTA logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:48, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scrollboxes and references

In your edit here:[1] you re-raise an issue that came up last month - I and several other editors believed that the layout you used in the United States article was desirable, and created Template:Scrollref to ease its spread. However, I and everyone else involved in authoring the template did an about-face and assisted in its removal upon learning that it: A: prevented the printable layout from rendering the entire references section of an article, and B: potentially caused similar problems for screenreaders and the like. As such, please refrain from spreading the scroll box-style layouts in main article space until Mediawiki and/or the default .css for the site makes it possible to suppress the feature in those instances. Even then, it might warrant some discussion before reintroducing it, however, given that a number of editors expressed distaste for having the citations obscured at all (see [[2]]). Fair use rationale for Image:French deployment overseas.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:French deployment overseas.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:06, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Is it possible to align-left the 1st column aswell? Chesdovi 13:02, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, all the barrier names are in the centre of their own column while all the others are placed to the left of their respective columns - it just looks a bit messy - that's all! Chesdovi 12:53, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What an improvement! Many thanks! Chesdovi 10:51, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Satellites

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for merging the Satellite state and Satellite nation articles. It occurs to me now that I talked about it for a while and then forgot to actually do it, so thanks for picking up my slack. ~ FerralMoonrender (TC) 17:48, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

suffrage

You're welcome. Perhaps others didn't consider the relatively low number of people watching the article. That's what convinced me it should be well protected. —EncMstr 01:39, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of countries by formation dates

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article List of countries by formation dates, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of List of countries by formation dates

An editor has nominated List of countries by formation dates, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of countries by formation dates and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:02, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of country and capital changes

You're welcome. I was editing under subheadings most of that time (i.e. the 1980s table), so I wasn't really doing the "oops, forgot a comma" each as a single edit. If you look at the history you'll find it's mostly under subheadings. Frickeg (talk) 22:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Women's suffrage

I generally prefer to see a longer protection log before I indefinitely protect something, even for semi-protection. This article has only been protected three times, and never for more than three months at a time. Anonymous users do have useful edits to make as well, and it is sort of against the spirit of the site to make them register to edit such an article. If vandalism continues after the protection expires, we can always put it back on. It's really no big deal. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:20, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
