Template:Cathead Political organizations by country

(cited as examples for 188 more speedy deletions made by Orderinchaos on March 1, 2010 between 05:40h and 08:40h with reference to either of G6, T1, C1, or no Speedy Deletion criterion at all).

Rationale: This speedy deletion campaign was unjustified and possible abusive. The Speedy Deletion criteria cited were not applicable and/or unvalid or even missing. To me it is not understandable why this wasn't resolved via the standard procedures such as regular CfD. Finally, even Orderinchaos conceded he ignored all rules. Therefore I need to insist on undeletion. If Orderinchaos wants these pages to be deleted, I'm fine with arguing about these in a regular CfD or whatever.

Background: Some days ago Orderinchaos and me had a dispute on his speedy deletion of 196 pages in the category and template namespaces for (IMHO random) reasons disregarding the definitions of Speedy Deletion criteria which for some reasons are quite concise. Now I understand that it is painful for other admins that this dispute was drawn into WP:UND, as this is certainly not the right place for such a discussion. However, from my perspective these 196 pages were were incorrectly deleted by Orderinchaos and still need to be undeleted.
I also consider it problematic that my first Request for Undeletion was removed by Orderinchaos who is obviously biased in this dispute, see (this diff). In my first request I concluded: "Let's put it together: our positions on this are diametral. I argued why I think these Speedy Deletions were neither process-wise nor substantially correct nor necessary for urgency reasons. You argued why you think these Speedy Deletions were indeed both process-wise and substantially correct and were necessary for urgency reasons. Both of us insist on our respective interpretation of the facts. Now let someone neutral decide on this undeletion request, and let's then talk on a different place about how to go on."

Thanks for dealing with this painful matter. -PanchoS (talk) 11:24, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - it is my personal recommendation that this issue be taken to deletion review, where consensus can built on (rather than decided on by a single administrator) whether the deletions were appropriate or not. Regards, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 12:10, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response which seems reasonable to me! I will file a deletion review instead. Regards, PanchoS (talk) 12:55, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am not "biased" in this dispute. I saw a horrendous, out of process mass category creation/move, and resolved to fix it. The dispute only arose because PanchoS doggedly and insistently maintained his ill-thought-out, constructed-without-any-consultation-whatsoever category system would actually fly. Category:Student organizations in Nigeria

Emptied out, and rightaway speedily deleted by the same admin within 16 seconds (see this diff). The reference to "(CSD C1: Category is Empty (and has been for 4 days or more))" is blatantly false. — PanchoS (talk) 18:53, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. It's still orphaned, so there's no point in restoring it. Talk to the deleting admin first. PeterSymonds (talk) 19:34, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It had one entry in it. I was actually going to speedy rename per WP:ENGVAR but then realised it had nothing of substance in it. A lot of the "Educational organizations" categories which PanchoS created out of process a bit over a month ago have only one (incorrect) entry in each, that being "Student organizations". Looking at the history one finds they've been yanked out of one tree and put rather artificially in another. Realistically about 20 fit this category, but I was only looking at Nigeria at that point in time. For some reason he created them all with American spelling, which is an issue I've already tried, and failed, to discuss with him. As I told him at that time, too, there is no process requirement in reverting out-of-process moves. He sought no authorisation for them, nor did he discuss it, and he's created one hell of a headache in the hierarchical structure (at least partly as he does not fully understand the area in which he's working). I do find it amusing however that he regards himself as being above the rules he seeks to impose on others. Orderinchaos 19:44, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Evilwm

The relevance of this window manager is partly practical, because people still use it, and partly historical, because it is the foundation of many later window managers. For example, see [2] for a writeup.

I see no reason to delete an article on something of interest merely because it is not widely used. We should also keep articles on Apple II, X10 window system, and Cobol for the same reasons. -Mnp (talk) 00:28, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there =) First of all, I would like to thank you for all of your sincere contributions to wikipedia. About the deletation of Master Tham Fook Cheong, I hope you can re-investigate his information. I am from Malaysia and I had heard about Master Tham for a very long time. He was really famous and had received a Medal of honor by the Sultan of Perak (King Azlan Shah) for his contributions. He deserves to be in wikipedia to be recognize as he had fulfilled the [WP:BIO]. By the way, i had read the deletation log's discussion and found out that there are some wrong researches. i just searched through Master Tham's website and there are a lot of facts and he did not sell snake oil as described by Philip. I think he mixed up Master Stanley tham frm Singapore with Master Stanley Tham Fook Cheong from Malaysia. Master Stanley Tham Fook Cheong frm Malaysia had a lot of proven records and testimonials. there are also a lot of news that had proven he is famous in Malaysia. That's a support to the first point-Notable People In Malaysia and is the reason he qualifies for a page in Wikipedia like other notable people. I had also read about the Purpose of advertsing. He was already famous and had appeared in numerous interviews and television programmes and it don't seemed as he tried to advertise here. I really hope you can revive Master Tham's page. Thank You for your kind attention. -60.48.245.64 (talk) 14:41, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Bauhaus (band)

This category was (AND SHOULD BE) useful for readers to find and navigate sets of articles related to Bauhaus (band). It's the category under which readers would most likely look if they were not sure of where to find an article about them. It can contain the following subcategories (Category:Bauhaus albums, Category:Bauhaus (band) members, Category:Bauhaus songs), at least 6 articles (Bauhaus (band), Discography, Love and Rockets, Tones on Tail, Dali's Car, The Bubblemen) and 1 template ({{Bauhaus}}), and can also be part (a subcategory) of several categories (Category:4AD artists, Category:British alternative rock groups, Category:Gothic rock groups, Category:Post-punk music groups). It is good for exploratory browsing of the subject. It has been deleted as an unpopulated category by User:Od Mishehu per Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. But, is a category populated by 7 articles + 3 categories with 30+ articles unpopulated? I do not think so, and 10,000+ categories are in the same condition as this. I know that it is not an article and I'm sorry if this is not the right place, but I searched Wikipedia for a solution and found nothing, so I thought to post it here. Thanks and Cheers! -–pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:05, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted as an empty category, but there's nothing stopping you from populating it yourself. Take a minute to read Wikipedia:Categorization, and if you have any questions you can either ask at the talk page or put a {{help}} template on your talk page and someone will be along sooner or later to help you out.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:07, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vegan for the Earth

The purpose of this page was to provide vital information regarding the crucial new evidence, detailed in a report by two researchers for the World bank, as to the true contribution of animal farming to greenhouse gas emissions. This report, a link to which was provided, as was a link to the vegan for the earth website which contains further information, calculates the true figure to be fifty one percent. As the need to consume less meat in order to address climate change, has already become something of a hot potato when the figure was thought to be eighteen percent, the new figure highlghts the extreme seriousness of the situation, and the associated need to do something about it without delay. As the simple response is to move to a vegan diet, I assert the relevance and importance of this page, and the information which it contains, and which it is linked to. I would, therefore ask that you restore it. Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Veganfortheearth (talkcontribs)

human design system

yourRationale -Mikemahalo (talk) 01:56, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the article in Human Design, or The Human Design System, was deleted by misunderstandings by a small handful of misinformed individuals. I can understand they had only the best intentions, but this wrong decision remains wrong.

Human Design appears to be one of the fastest growing bodies of thought and conceptual ideas on the planet right now. Just Google Human Design, it is more present on the planet than many other ideas now on wikipedia.

It is way out of balance for such a hugely popular topic to disappear in this way. I have signed up to wiki now to present this argument and reverse the deletion decision.

I have written a more complete argument, but for now I want to know WHO to talk to about this. I believe keeper77, who made the deletion, is not longer available for contact?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikemahalo (talkcontribs)

Belitsoft

This article was added by me along with several other articles on wiki. The article 'Belitsoft' was deleted even without discussion - I see no any comments about the reason why the article was deleted or who deleted the article. I beleive the article was deleted not according to the rools of deletion. This is why I request to restore the article. Next thing is that article was approved before and was on wiki for a long time. When there were any reasons for its deletion, I would like to have a possibility to protect the content or to improve it when there are any objections to this article being published as it is. -Minsksky (talk) 11:09, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. The reason for nomination was "no valid references, blatant advert, no assertion of notability, COI,no independent google hits" Since nobody objected, it has been a procedural correct deletion as is thsi restoration. Furthermore there are no 'approvals' and it is still possible that it is being sent to a deletion discussion as the article has issues. You can move it to your userspace for improvement, though. I'll let the nominator know. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:35, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feenixpawl

A house music duo who is well established, and signed to a Major music label, Sony BMG in Australia. Have been producing music for for several years, and producing under the moniker Feenixpawl for 2 years. Have been regulars on Australian radio, and have toured nationally. Have worked with artists such as Kaz James and Goldfish (band) -Joshsoon (talk) 11:42, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done - the page has been restored to your userspace at User:Joshsoon/Feenixpawl. I can't say I disagree with the original deletion, because the article read like a promo piece. I'd strongly suggest getting feedback at WP:FEED before moving this back to main space; otherwise it's likely to be deleted again. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:06, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and read WP:COI. You're going to have an uphill battle trying to write an unbiased article about your own group.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:08, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Kennedy Club

The Kate Kennedy Club plays a significant part in university life at St Andrews, organizing two major balls, the Opening and May Balls, as well as a historic procession important to both the University and the town's tradition. Furthermore a googling of the Kate Kennedy Club would show it has been in the press a significant amount more than just one Telegraph article as the deletion rationale stated. It is important to keep on wikipedia as students entering St Andrews have a right to know about the club. Article could be referenced more by simply visiting the club website and perusing just a couple of the many articles available online. -138.251.253.81 (talk) 11:54, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

open coffee

Open Coffee (http://opencoffee.ning.com/) is a thriving idea of people meeting informally to talk about starting and expanding businesses, challenges faced by small businesses etc. Original entry was deleted some years ago as it was considered a commercial organisation and spam. Given that attending is free, apart from the price of a coffee, and is now in all the places listed below, I think it a great omission that it is not in Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.60.198.120 (talkcontribs)

Haunted Games

Hi. I would like my code only, you do not have to post the Haunted Games wikipedia information back up - I would only like my code because I spent a few hours writing it. I think the article was originally deleted because I did not have the 'Cleanup' or something section above which I accidentally removed. Thanks for understanding -Haunted360 (talk) 11:08, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

archive of contemporary music

We are trying to get our article re-posted on Wiki. It was deleted, by you (Anthony.bradbury), for no logical reason. You say we plagiarized the material from <http://www.si.umich.edu/pep/asb/2006/NYC/ACM.html>

J-point

Apparently deleted because it was only a dictionary definition. If it cannot be expanded, then should probably redirect to QRS complex, electrocardiography, or some related topic. Bwrs (talk) 00:23, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - as the only content of the previous article was "J-Point is the last point of the QRS complex on the ECG." You are welcome to create the article yourself, but for now it redirects to QRS complex. Cheers, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 10:02, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article was recently undeleted. At this time a short bio was temporarily written but the page was immediately deleted again due to it not matching criteria. aaa phone on hold

Please explain why you decided to delete this article anout a legitimate company, it's history, etc. The article was formatted much like the article titled Muzak. I was very careful to write it simply as information, not as promotion. Why did you delete it? If this was deleted, why is Muzak allowed to have a page about their company? If I made a mistake, I apologize. Why can't you just tell me what to change and I'll change it? Thank you for your consideration. -Brucelivolsi (talk) 21:15, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - the article was deleted because it seemed to be promotional information that did not assert the notability of the company.
