Hi. I had noted that you had posted a note to this editor regarding his edits and wanted just to alert you that there are some issues arising with his changing of images on actor articles, including changing to a fair-use character image from a free use one, changing from recent images to some that were 20 years old, and arbitrarily just changing images, even on WP:FA articles where the infobox image being used was a matter of discussion and consensus. I'm quickly becoming frustrated with the arbitrary way he is editing and have posted notes 3 times now to him with no response. I'd much prefer, especially if his editing is being scrutinized, for an admin to deal with it rather than becoming deeply involved in this. Thanks. Thanks for replying. I don't want to particularly watch his edits, I only noticed when he started changing out the photos to articles that I watch. When you see one person making an odd change to perhaps 12 or 15 articles on your list, it raises your awareness. I posted to you after he had made the infobox switch on Al Pacino, from a free use photo to one of a character he played over 20 years ago. I just wanted to raise awareness. Thanks so much. I was looking for information on Zumba and was curious as to why you'd deleted the page beyond the "eligible content" (whatever that means). It seems like Wikipedia had an entry that would tell me what the heck it is my friends are doing, but it was removed. I'm unaware of what policy you speak of. As someone who edited under an IP address for a few years before the Seigenthaler controversy forced me to create an account, I try to pay close attention to such things, and I'm a bit of a policy wonk having written and helped maintain quite a few of them over the years. Ooh, OK, I wasn't quite up to date on WP:EVADE; I didn't actually use my IP to evade anything I was blocked for; and I did notify an Arbcom member that I'd eventually resume editing anyway. But, anyway, no harm, no foul. Your assistance please

I noticed you completed the speedy deletion of Holly Bagnall. I noticed this because User:Darrenhusted, the contributor who nominated the Holly Bagnall article for deletion also nominated Orio Palmer, an article I started. And, when I checked their recent contribution history, I saw they had made a series of nominations of exceptional 9-11 victims. I was frankly concerned by what I saw as a sequence of overly hasty nominations.

The wikipedia is not a memorial. But victims of disasters, for whom there is some well documented aspect of their story that makes them exceptional, should not be nominated for deletion under the "not a memorial" reasoning.

Can I ask whether the Holly Bagnall article was about a 9-11 victim or survivor? If so could you userify it to User:Geo Swan/rescue/9-11/Holly Bagnall?

Zumba (2)

Respectfully, did you do any research before A7ing the Zumba article? This was one of the sources listed - surely this is reason enough to send it to AFD. Certainly no one is saying that just because something is reported on CNN it is automatically notable, however when the reference has statements like "Zumba zooms to the top of the exercise world" and "Zumba is now a brand name. Since 2003, Perlman's group has trained 20,000 instructors around the world and sold more than 3 million DVDs on the Internet and through infomercials" then I would argue that certainly speedy deletion under A7 was not appropriate. The fact that there are over 500 recent news articles on it also would indicate A7 was not suitable. A7 criteria states "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance" - a CNN reference (in my opinion) certainly would mean that A7 does not apply. I was surprised when researching the subject that there was no article - however I was very surprised when I saw it was deleted without any consensus from an AFD - which would seem to me to clearly be the way to go. Could you help sort out dispute

Hello,

One editor believes that the article Ross Petot should be removed. He claims this pianist is known only in New England which is not true. I have tried to prove to this individual that this is not the case by including some info where he has played or will play. The user Paul something removed this information I'm assuming because it shows the subject playing outside of New England. The subject is actually well known among the ragtime and taditional jazz fans and has played in Canada and Europe. The article also has sources. I removed his tag that the article didn't contain sources or prove that he was notable. I have found doing a web search that people across the US are even playing his compositions. This sounds notable to me. Can you help sort this out. I'm afraid this editor has no intention of backing down even when proved wrong. I'd hate to see the article removed because of one persons die hard objections. I'm asking you because you once edited the artcle and are a admin. Thanks. I am always a little bit cautious about salting articles where the name could become the title of a sensible article; especially when it has been created/re-created at different times by different editors. I didn't mean a permanent salt. I've seen admins use a three month salt to dissuade the current editor, while allowing for the possibility that it may be a worthy topic in the future. Eliza Hancock

I am not quite sure why the above was deleted, since I can't check what was in the article any more. It was just a stub anyway, but I suspect there were some sources nevertheless.

In just a few words, Eliza Hancock (= Eliza de Feuillide, or, for that matter, Eliza Austen) is notable as having inspired several major caracters in Jane Austen's novels : Mary Crawford in Mansfield Park, most notably, possibly Eliza in Sense and Sensibility, Isobel de Feuillide in Love and Freindship, of course, and a few others. It is indeed very difficult to analyse Jane Austen's novels and ignore Eliza Hancock.

Please refer to French article for sourcing. Any amount of sourcing is easily available anyway. A separate entry can be seen for instance in

Your comment, shown below, as well as your irrational (emotional...based on your nonsense "manupulation" comment) deletion of article Ann Loiuse Bardach suggest that your adminship should perhaps be reviewed. I consider the deletion of this article to be "admin vandalism". I must say, however, that the deletion is somewhat of a blessing in disguise for me for reasons that i care not share. Hence, it is going to seem crazy when i say thank you, if i ever do. So although my comment regarding manipulation of admins was not directed to you, it begs the question: who inadvertenly manipulated who this time?

Your comment below appears to be a threat, which to me as a threat, is meaningless unless childish. You are advised to better spend your time actually explaining copyright law in more detail to others. For your information, copyright law violation is subjective (you might want to learn about Supreme Court rulings), so there is no such thing as, "explained to you very clearly", as you say. You should be aware that i have on many occassions explained the process of how i go about creating an article to other admins, and not once, have any of them objected. This is fact burried in my edit history. The one admin who processed the block yesterday was the first to ever say that i could not copy/paste copyright material into Wikipedia even if in the process of editing before actually posting the final article.

With regards to blanking my talk page, it is none of your business, further, if you would have looked into the recent history of the talk page you would have learned that relevant comments were reposted after a previous blanking. At any rate, your further comments are no longer welcomed. Anthony, I closed that RFA because I don't think there's any requirement that WP:NOTNOW RFA closes be made by admins- the Bureaucrat's Instructions doesn't attempt to make any distinction between admins and non-admins in these cases. We are all, by the terms used in that document, "non-bureaucrats". If you'd like an admin to formally close it, I can revert myself, but I think it's certain the end result would be the same. Hanja (漢字)

I tried to create a re-direct for the Hanja equivalent for DPRK, but I noticed that you deleted the old re-direct, stating that Hanja is not acceptable on English WP, your main reason being Korean WP does not allow them (but a few notable exceptions such as Korean peninsula and Kim Jong-il, 朝鮮半島 and 金正日, were never re-directs on KO-WP and thus have never been deleted). The reference to the KO-WP is true, as I tried searching a few Hanja terms there, clicked on the red-links at the top of the search, and found the reason as to why they were deleted.
In addition Korean MOS doesn't specifically prohibit these re-directs. Ok... even if you proceed with deleting Hanja re-directs, they are a small minority in the world of Chinese character re-directs on WP, mainly because of Chinese-Simplified/Traditional and Japanese, so I don't really mind either. And please excuse me for my relative ignorance towards this matter; I am an ethnic Chinese and thus know very little about most Korean topics (well StarCraft counts :D). 华钢琴49 (TALK) 01:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I suppose it could have been listed under the category of advertising, but it didn't immediately come to mind or seem to quite fit (I tend to associate that category more with "corporate boosterism" than an actual classified-style ad, first I've seen of that :) ) Sometimes these categories don't exactly fit the content of the page; it seems to me that what's ultimately important is that it needs to be gone, whatever category it got slotted into. Given that nobody else can have the username 930913, I took that to forward to my page. It was noted down after the redirect code. I wonder if I could ask you to use the "on hold" template when placing an unblock request on hold? I keep looking over unblock requests only to get to the bottom and find that you are discussing the matter with the blocking admin, effectively "holding" the block, but because you don't use the template to indicate this the requests still show up in Category:Requests for unblock as though they are still waiting to be reviewed. Dr. Ghulam Hussain page contained more information and it was removed and the old webpage Ghulam Hussain (physician) was restored wich contained less information. I sent you the following email: I read through most of the discussion of this page on the TALK discussion board. It seems there have been quite a few remarks/suggestions for edits that may be quite valid for the page referenced above, yet the edits have not been added to the wiki page. You seem to be at an administrator level with authorizations to incorporate edits. Can you update this semi-protected page? Do you need some assistance in this regard? I'm looking specifically at the section on "CHILDREN" which says "all children" were sent to the gas chambers upon arrival (untrue); and, my remarks which I added last night regarding filming allowed at Auschwitz. The reference date to War and Remembrance is incorrect and the article does not mention Nuit et Brouillard by Alain Resnais. These may be minor, but as knowledge of Auschwitz and the Holocaust pass far away from the generations, I think it is important to get the facts straight. Let me know if you need help. P.S. New Use and Auschwitz Concentration Camp

I plan to spend some time playing around with the editing features for a while until I know what I'm doing. I can't even figure out how to just send you a reply to your Welcome note without doing a new section. I presume I will find that out when I have time to look at the links and the tutorials. As for Auschwitz and children and the remark that "all children" were gassed immediately that I think is wrong, I am thinking about reports of a children's section (no resources to cite at the moment from where I sit and I might be thinking of other camps - a real possibility) but I'm also thinking of a variety of books and personal accounts I have read from survivors who were children at the time (again, maybe I'm thinking of other camps). I won't change it unless and until I can dig through my books and get some verifiable citations on that, perhaps check with Yad Vashem or the Shoah Project at USC (among other places including my personal library). But, if my memory is correct and the reference to "all children" were gassed upon arrival is incorrect, then there is a discrepancy in the same section of Auschwitz Concentration Camp on wikipedia that claims that upon liberation , that of the 7500 survivors still at the camp (who had not been sent on death marches or transferred), some were children. Consistency is necessary. As to the other issue regarding the films, I'll make sure I use appropriate wiki citation formatting and I'll figure out how to add links to the existing pages.
