Error on page

Wayne Rooneys goals against Iceland were scored at the City of Manchester stadium, not Old Trafford, I was there. Still waiting for someone to update this massive error! Edit Request on 14th December 2012

Wayne Rooney has scored 10 goals in 18 Manchester Derbies as of 9th December 2012. This is the most of any United player ever. Please mention that. The same match also saw him as the 6th man to reach the milestone of 150 Premier league goals. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/12/11/3593981/rooney-proud-to-overtake-sir-bobby-charltons-manchester?source=breakingnews

Also, on 14th December, an official Barclays Global Fan Survey saw him voted as the most popular current player of the Premier League. This should be mentioned in his indiviual awards. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/wayne-rooney-voted-number-one-in-fans-survey.html

Highest scorer of the Ferguson era

I think it is definitely worth mentioning that no one has scored more goals for Manchester Utd under Sir Alex Ferguson than Wayne Rooney. Also the picture is still hopelessly out of date and needs up-dating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.28.91 (talk) 12:46, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 27 February 2013

In the opening paragraph, please replace "he got beaten by Theo Walcott" which is awful English with "he was bettered by Theo Walcott"

Done The entire section needs a copy edit for grammar. I didn't incorporate your exact wording but I believe the spirit of your request is there. —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:02, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 2 March 2013

I think Rooney's assists should be added as he hasn't played as the main striker since the 09/10 season and even before that season he played deeper when Ronaldo was at United. He also has approx. 14 goals and 12 assists this season which reflects on his role as a number 10.

He is also the 9th highest assist maker in premier league history with 128 assists. I believe his assist stats deserve to be shown.

EDIT: here is the link to the all time assist stat http://www.premiersoccerstats.com/Records.cfm?DOrderby=Ass&DYearby=All%20Seasons

here is the link for his assists season by season http://espnfc.com/players/format/design09/playerStats?playerId=21046&positionId=18&league=eng.1&lang=EN&xhr=0

the 'a' column shows the amount of assists, although it does not cover his assists in entirety

Please give a reliable source to confirm your claims. - Camyoung54 talk 18:40, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 4 March 2013

Rooney's premier league goals have been updated for this week but not the overall tally. He has 14 goals in all competitions this season, not 13. 11 in the premier league, 2 in the FA Cup and 1 in the Champions League. This means he has 195 in total for United and 212 career goals. For some reason someone only added to the premier league goal tally but not overall. Source would be the same ESPN which has been used. I have also gave two sources for my previous edit request above. You even have the 2 cup goals and 1 CL goal listed but have not added up the total properly.

Klay Rooney

Wayne and Coleen's second son Klay has been born in the last few days and reported on in the last 24 hours, obviously this needs to be reflected in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.31.11.100 (talk) 11:36, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 8 June 2013

I would like to change rooney a position from forward to forward/midfielder 121.222.88.220 (talk) 02:40, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. --ElHef (Meep?) 03:01, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing

PeeJay2K3, you seem rather intent on adding this reference from The News of the World. Despite the fact that it isn't necessary as there's already a cite for the information. And the fact that The News of the World is about as crap as it gets and in no way a WP:RS.

WP:BLP states: Material should not be added to an article when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism. When material is both verifiable and noteworthy, it will have appeared in more reliable sources. -- Hillbillyholiday talk 13:01, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request:

Rooney has 144 premier league goals for United and 15 for Everton which is correct. However, you listed his premier league goals as 158. 144 + 15 = 159. Only the number 158 needs to be changed to 159, everything else seems correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.102.200.3 (talk) 04:27, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request: Goals scored

Bottom of the third paragraph:

"In April 2012, Rooney scored his 180th goal, making him United's fourth-highest goal-scorer of all time."

add

"In September 2013, Rooney scored his 200th goal."

Wayne Rooneys: a line to be edited

"Rooney is reportedly the third highest-paid footballer in the world after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with an annual income of €20.7 million (£18 million) including sponsorship deals.", this text has to be edited or removed because the third highest paid soccer player annually is Lionel Messi and the first is David Beckham as per forbes list of http://www.forbes.com/athletes/list/>The Highest Paid Athletes</a>. Please remove X as its not true. Mahanthathreyee (talk) 22:19, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You know Beckham has retired now, right? – PeeJay 10:13, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: but I've done something else. The point is, stating these things without a date is dodgy, because they change so rapidly. Please see Wikipedia:Recentism. When you give this kind of information, it's best to include a phrase such as "as of <date> ..." to avoid this kind of difficulty. I've done that using the current source. If you want to update to Mahanthathreyee's source, that's fine -- its date was June 2013. But as PeeJay2K3 says, Beckham has retired, so you never know when the next change is coming along. Wayne is now 28

Article is locked, please can someone update?--90.203.126.164 (talk) 00:06, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Where does it say anything else? The infobox on the right updates automatically and there aren't any mentions of his current age anywhere in the article. – PeeJay 00:24, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 25 October 2013

He's 28 years old

92.236.39.99 (talk) 10:38, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please make your request in a "change X to Y" format. That's already what the infobox says, and it automatically updates itself. Where in the article does it give a different age? --Stfg (talk) 11:16, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

England and United goals and appearances

In the article, it says he has played 88 games for England, but is actually 85. It also says he has played in 287 United games and scored 146 goals, but has actually played in 419 games and has scored 205 goals. Please fix!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BillyTheDon111 (talkcontribs) 17:45, 27 November 2013‎ (UTC)[reply]

88 England caps is supported by a reliable source, and the infobox stats account for league matches only. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:30, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Info box out of date

Sky making a big thing of this being Rooney's "300 week - it's his 300th Premier league appearence ho ho ho".109.155.127.232 (talk) 19:31, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So it's not really that out of date, is it? – PeeJay 20:45, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
