Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie is the ninth overall Naruto film and sixth Naruto Shippūden film written by Masashi Kishimoto[1] and was released in Japan on July 28, 2012.[2][3] The film follows Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno attempting to escape from the wrong timeline. The band Asian Kung-Fu Generation performs the film's theme song "Sore de wa, Mata Ashita" (それでは、また明日, lit. "Well Then, See You Tomorrow").[4] Both the single CD and the film's original soundtrack were released on July 25, 2012.[5][6] The first 1.5 million film was given for Motion Comic: Naruto, a DVD that shows scenes by Kishimoto.[7]

Plot

The leaf ninjas track to drive off the fake Akatsuki members. While his friends are praised by their families, Naruto discovers Sakura Haruno arguing with her parents. At the park, Tobi uses the Limited Tsukuyomi (限定月読, Gentei Tsukuyomi) to transport the two into an alternate reality, based on inner thoughts.

Naruto (being called Menma (メンマ)) and Sakura discover their friends acting exact opposites of their usual selves, and Sasuke Uchiha being around at the village. While Sakura learns that she is orphaned with her father as the Fourth Hokage, Naruto sees to reunite with Minato and Kushina alive. The next day as the team successfully retrieve the Red Moon Scroll as against the mysterious masked ninja, the couple dissuades the refusal to bond for Naruto. After the masked man kidnaps the reinvigorated Sakura, Naruto takes the scroll, sets out for them and Tsunade orders the organization to aid them. Naruto battles with the man, only to reveal his counterpart as the real Menma. Learning that Tobi created to possess Memna and render the used scroll, Naruto purges Tobi from Menma to cancel the genjutsu. As Minato and Kushina reunited with the unconscious Menma, Naruto and Sakura return to the right timeline.

Sakura apologizes to her parents and Naruto does the same thing to Iruka Umino, who welcomes him home with a cake. This reminds him that even though he is an orphan, he still has a family.
