== Microsoft Office XP ==

Thank you for evaluating the [[Microsoft Office XP]] article for [[WP:GA|Good Article]] status. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to improve the article before or after your evaluation is complete. I would prefer to address any shortcomings before that time. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 01:50, 27 December 2017 (UTC))
:Sure! I've already started making notes on the review page about passages in the article that might need to be fixed, so feel free to respond to each note. (I'm using [[Talk:IND World's Fair Line/GA1|this review]] as a model for the review.) [[User:Enterprisey|Enterprisey]] ([[User talk:Enterprisey|talk!]]) 19:40, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
::I am sorry that I did not read this before or the notes; I wish that it would have notified me that you responded. I intend to address the comments in your notes tonight. Thank you for your time. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 21:03, 28 December 2017 (UTC))
:::Oh, no problem! I should've left a note that I actually did start the review on your talk page. Looking forward to a good review. [[User:Enterprisey|Enterprisey]] ([[User talk:Enterprisey|talk!]]) 22:26, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
::::I replied to some of your comments. I hope that this leads to productive improvement and that you inform me of any other issues with the article. Thank you! ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 02:32, 29 December 2017 (UTC))
::::I just wanted to mention that I have made more edits since I responded to your comments, including edits in regards to [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Microsoft_Office_XP&oldid=817551242 naming consistency], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Microsoft_Office_XP&type=revision&diff=817993421&oldid=817552263 prose] ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Microsoft_Office_XP&type=revision&diff=818024451&oldid=817995168 more] [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Microsoft_Office_XP&type=revision&diff=818047361&oldid=818046976 than one]), and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Microsoft_Office_XP&type=revision&diff=818046820&oldid=818024451 client vs. full file and service pack information]. I hope that you find these changes to be satisfactory. Thank you for your time. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 17:58, 1 January 2018 (UTC))
:::::The changes look good! Sorry I haven't been editing the review much lately, the tail end of the holiday season was a bit busy. But I should be back to reviewing it this week, probably tomorrow. Thanks! [[User:Enterprisey|Enterprisey]] ([[User talk:Enterprisey|talk!]]) 04:47, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
::::::Thank you! You are fine, of course. I hope that it has been well for you. I will enjoy more of your thoughts because I want it to be beautiful. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 18:51, 2 January 2018 (UTC))
::::::I am sorry to bother you again, but there is something I wanted to ask you, as you are the article's reviewer. I should [[Wikipedia:Be bold|be '''bold''']], but how would you feel about a section dedicated to new features in the individual Office XP applications (e.g., Outlook 2002) (similar to [[Microsoft Office 2010#New app-specific features|this]])? I do not intend to list every feature, of course, but I feel that such information would be immensely valuable. Naturally I will not work with this if you feel that it would detract from—or negatively affect—its potential as a Good Article, or its review process. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 20:59, 3 January 2018 (UTC))
:::::::Sure, that sounds like a great idea that would contribute to the article's coverage! It would definitely improve the article. [[User:Enterprisey|Enterprisey]] ([[User talk:Enterprisey|talk!]]) 21:18, 3 January 2018 (UTC
::::::::I have run into a bit of an issue, but I should be done with that section by January 8. I hope to address your other feedback (e.g., the .NET strategy) and make the appropriate edits at that time, as I have found the appropriate sources. Thank you for your feedback and for your patience. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 00:28, 5 January 2018 (UTC))
::::::::Enterprisey, I have added that section and have made changes based on your previous suggestions. When you are available please let me know what you think. Thank you for your assistance. ([[User:IanWilliam20|IanWilliam20]] ([[User talk:IanWilliam20|talk]]) 04:15, 7 January 2018 (UTC))
:::::::::Enterprisey, I truly do apologize for writing to you about this again—it is clear that you are busy—but it has been almost a month since you were last contacted. Are you still interested in assessing [[Microsoft Office XP]]? If you are no longer able or interested please let me know. I do not mean to sound like a broken record, as they say. Thank you. ::::::::::{{u|IanWilliam20}}, I apologize for the lengthy delay; I had a lot of IRL work to do and I kept thinking I would be able to come back to the review. Apparently this wasn't the case at all. == draft-sorter.js and grade parameter ==

I've noticed that your draft-sorter.js script adds a 'grade' parameter whenever it adds any WikiProject banner. As far as I'm aware, 'grade' isn't a supported parameter for most WikiProject templates, and so it results in pages being added to cleanup categories (e.g. [[:Category:Africa articles with invalid parameters]]). If there isn't another purpose, could you remove this from the script? Thanks. '''''<span style="color: darkblue;">[[User:Harryboyles|Harryboyles]]</span>''''' 00:47, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Enterprisey, could you please make your bot check whether a user exists before making a talk page for them? Based on [[Template:Did you know nominations/2018 Gulf of Alaska Earthquake]] (check the history), it created [[User talk:Multiple, no one editor seems primarily responsible for the article as it now exist]] (now deleted). That kind of page is not helpful to anyone. Happy editing, —'''[[User:Kusma|Kusma]]''' ([[User talk:Kusma|t]]·[[Special:Contributions/Kusma|c]]) 20:03, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Enterprisey, you have not returned to this review in nearly two months, and you have not been responsive to recent requests from the nominator to say when (or whether) you planned to return.

It was good of you to give GA reviewing a try, but that comes with a responsibility to communicate, especially when written directly. If you do not return to this review in some way by the end of February, I'm sure you will understand that I will go looking for another reviewer to take over where you left off. Thank you. == Admin recall </br><small><small><small>(Umm, actually making you recall that you need to run again for the RfA now)</small></small></small> ==

Well, I got bombed in my first RfA, and I too had an alternative [[User:Wìkìpe-tan|account]] that I did not connect to my main account, till just before my second RfA. So at least we both have got that in common :D

Since your first RfA, the feedback I have from the community is that you've contributed to build Wikipedia in unique ways, which editors really appreciate. If there's someone who has already passed {{u|Kudpung}}'s criteria, I would really want to know why aren't you considering running again, now that much time has passed since the earlier RfA. If you're looking for a few supports before you decide, you have mine:

*:Thank you so much for your support! I would normally be interested in running again, but my current RL workload is incredibly high to the point where I can't do much else at the moment. If I had a week to spare, I absolutely would give it another try (after consulting a bunch of people, of course!) since it has been nearly two and a half years. [https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T189456 If all goes well], I should be putting in a ton of time to the project over the summer, so I think that would be a good time to run again. Again, thanks! == sql as a programming language ==

if sql in general is a programming language (and I agree that it is) then it should be given the treatment all the others are. You have c, c++ etc all listed separately. SQLite, MSSQL and SQL are all similar but have different syntax to the point that they don't run each other's code. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Thoughtpolice26|Thoughtpolice26]] ([[User talk:Thoughtpolice26#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Thoughtpolice26|contribs]]) 04:50, 12 April 2018 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

== Conversation on improvements to AfC process ==

Hi {{u|Enterprisey}} -- I'm [[User:MMiller (WMF)|Marshall Miller]]; I'm a new product manager at WMF with the [[metawiki:Community_Tech|Community Tech team]]. I'm currently working on a potential improvement to the Articles for Creation (AfC) process that I posted about [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/AfC Process Improvement May 2018|here]], and that's being discussed on the [[Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation/AfC Process Improvement May 2018|talk page]].

I don't know if you've had a chance to check out that conversation, but I wanted to get in touch since a lot of the conversation has been around the tools that you've worked on for AfC. The discussion so far has narrowed down to a few leading improvements, and the work that the Community Tech team at WMF would do to pursue those improvements could likely involve enhancements to the AFCH script, or work that builds on things like the [[toolforge:apersonbot/pending-subs/|Pending AfC Submissions]] tool.

If you have time to weigh in on the conversation, or for us at the Community Tech team here to ask you questions about your work -- or if you want to collaborate on some of these improvements, please let me know! We would appreciate any bandwidth you can spare.

== Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing ==

Hello,

There will be [[:mw:Parsing/Replacing Tidy|some changes to the way wikitext is parsed]] during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at [[Special:LintErrors]]. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.

There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:LintErrors/html5-misnesting&namespace=0 misnested tags] and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:LintErrors/deletable-table-tag&offset=6843815&namespace=0 table problems]. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{tl|infobox ship}} is parsed).

If you are interested in helping with this project, please see [[Wikipedia:Linter]]. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at [[WT:Linter]] if you have questions.

Thank you for all the good things you do for the English Wikipedia. [[User:Whatamidoing (WMF)|Whatamidoing (WMF)]] ([[User talk:Whatamidoing (WMF)|talk]]) 21:18, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

G'day, recently added <nowiki>{{afc-c|p}}</nowiki> template in for ''partially accepted'' AFC/R requests. Is it possible to add in code to place this over requests that have some redirects accepted and rejected?

Hello there! I have been using the delsort script but have been noticing whenever I choose "Cricket", the AfDs aren't actually going to the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Cricket|collection page]]. – [[User: TheGridExe|<span style="color:green">TheGridExe</span>]] ([[User talk:TheGridExe|<span style="color:navy">talk</span>]]) 18:34, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
:I see the issue. There's supposed to be a comment that reads <pre><!-- New AFD's should be placed on top of the list, directly below this line --></pre> at the top of the section where AfDs are supposed to go, but that seems to have been removed; I put it back. Probably I should fix the script so that it doesn't depend on the existence of the comment. Thanks for pointing this out! == MediaWiki:Gadget-afchelper.js loading user JS ==

Hi there! I noticed [[MediaWiki:Gadget-afchelper.js]] sources [[User:Enterprisey/afch-master.js]]. This poses a security risk, since (while probably unlikely) your account could be compromised and someone could insert malicious code in your user script which affects everyone who uses Wikipedia. I noticed you're a sysop on [[testwiki:User:Enterprisey|testwiki]], do you have two-factor authentication turned on? Doing so there will also mean you have 2FA here. Even if you do have it turned on, under principle it would be good to move the AFCH script to the MediaWiki namespace. You could make protected edit requests as needed, linking to the source on GitHub. What are your thoughts? ==List vs article==
As it is in the notability guideline, although technically a list is a type of article, probably "list" is "differentiated" from "article", otherwise, why mention "list" and "article"? I guess you take it as a tautology but I take it as talking about two different things. So the removal of "lists" require discussion in the talk page. AFCH doesn't prevent data loss when navigating away from page.

I'm using:

AfD Stats

Hi Enterprisey. I hope you have a fine summer. Did you change the way AfD Stats handles right and wrong? I looked at mine, and I notice that my "keep" !vote in this discussion closed as "merge" counts as "didn't match". Sam Sailor 16:18, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and I don't see any recent changes. I believe the reasoning of the original tool authors was that a merge is an indication that the content is unsuitable as a standalone article, but a keep is an indication that the content should largely remain at its current location. XTools edit counter

Hey there, I saw your comments about XTools on IRC. So you know, you can get just the namespace totals with XTools (example). This is still imposed by 350,000 edit count limitation, though. The issue obviously is users with a really high edit count can slow down the tool tremendously, for everyone else who uses it -- if not fail completely. The same is true for any tool with long-running queries. We have a few tasks to mitigate this, namely phab:T188677 and phab:T182182. I hope to get to them soon. I do have an older tool that just does the namespace counts, with no edit count limitation: toolforge:musikanimal/namespace_counter. It will run on Oshwah [1], but be prepared to wait ;)

Finally, I wanted to remind you XTools is open source. If you are interested, we'd absolutely love to have more contributors, even if it's just technical suggestions for improvements. Docs on how to contribute are at xtools.readthedocs.io. Cheers MusikAnimal talk 13:57, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

magnustools/quick_counter is another tool to get the namespace breakdown of edits by a user MusikAnimal talk 14:49, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the links! I had no idea you could click on the section name in the edit counter to get just that section; that's a great feature. I'll add all of the tools to the WP:WK list, since I hadn't heard about those too.
I sadly don't know any PHP, but I will definitely send over any ideas for improvements if I happen to have any. Enterprisey (talk!) 18:23, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You should learn PHP! Not just so you can work on XTools, but because you are a talented developer and Wikimedia projects are predominantly PHP-based. I didn't know one lick of PHP two years ago, and somehow I've grown to love it. Learning it opened up the door to work on MediaWiki itself.

Back to the edit counter -- if you do decide to build your own, you will run into the same issues all the other tools have. Perhaps you're already aware of this, but namely, you have a hard limit of five database connections. So if five people are running the edit counter at the same time, the sixth person will be greeted with a "exceeded max connection limit" error. For this reason it's important to set some sane limits. You can do away with an edit count limit (a bad solution, admittedly), and instead set a max statement time so that queries gone wild are automatically killed. Failure to do this is why the old XTools and Supercount suffered from so much downtime. If you need more help in this area, feel free to ask. I'm mostly interested in how you plan to tackle this issue, as perhaps you have a better solution. MusikAnimal talk 16:56, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Block afch on WP:AFC/R via gadget instead?

Is there a good reason for this instead of editing the gadget itself to include:

(/^(?:User:|Draft:|Wikipedia(?:_talk)?:Articles_for_creation)/.test(mw.config.get('wgPageName')) && mw.config.get('wgPageName') !== 'Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Redirects')

Seems like the latter would be more efficient, but didn't know if you'd prefer it this way for testing or some other good reason. ~ Amory (utc) 12:03, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it would be more efficient. I've gotten used to fixing bugs in AFCH by pushing them to my userspace, so that solution didn't occur to me. Edit request filed. Enterprisey (talk!) 19:44, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've read your message and will respond soonish when I'm back at a computer. Enterprisey (talk!) 22:49, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, to comment on each source in order:
  1. cnbc.com: isn't primarily about Pointy, doesn't contribute to significant coverage
  2. forbes.com: quite good actually, I don't know how I missed it during the search; if we had another source of this quality I'd probably keep the article, to be honest.
  3. sfgate.com: doesn't seem to mention Pointy that much, unless I missed something
  4. youtube.com: YouTube cannot be used as a reliable source
  5. irishtimes.com: also quite good, bit of a PR piece though (IS concerns)
  6. businesspost.ie: paywalled, can't comment on how good it is, although I suspect I would have the same notes as for the irishtimes.com article
Summary: I'd probably have voted "keep" if I had done a better job searching & found these. (I can't get the Forbes article to show up on a news search for me, though.) I was obviously too quick to vote "delete" on this one. I'm considering a DRV; pinging Atsme and Tyw7 for thoughts before I do that. Enterprisey (talk!) 06:01, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • ’’’comment’’’ - I still believe it fails GNG and NOT. When an article has limited activity at AfD, I look to DGG for his expertise...especially when it involves business promotion, so I pinged him. Atsme📞📧 13:14, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ask!

Hello, is the tool at [this site] still working? phjtieudoc 02:44, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Ah, it does seem to be broken. When I get back I'll see what I can do about fixing it and moving it to the official tools server. Enterprisey (talk!) 21:07, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help!

Hi! Concerning the rollback you applied on my modifications[1], the summary function doesn't seem to leave much space for detailed explanations, which is why I put them in the talk page of the article[2]. But I'm beginning here, I'd appreciate if you could tell me how I did wrong. Thanks. -- Nuotzi (talk) 06:06, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the followup message. I did not see the talk page message you left, and will respond there. In short, I thought the tower's construction issues were covered by reliable sources (and I spent five minutes fact-checking after I made the edit), but I may have been wrong. I've left your version up pending the outcome of any discussion on the talk page. Enterprisey (talk!) 23:47, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Nuotzi, it's almost always a good idea to write an edit summary, even if you have to severely summarize your explanation (and post a longer one on the talk page). Enterprisey (talk!) 23:49, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking through the submissions for the Columbus meeting. I'm working on a boring task and I get the impression your script might be relevant to my task. However, when I look at User:Enterprisey/reply-link, I see how to install it and I see how to use it but I don't quite get what it does. Could you include, or point to an example of its use?--S Philbrick(Talk) 21:18, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sphilbrick, sure - once you install the script, navigate to any talk page or Wikipedia-space page with discussions, and after each signature you should see a new (reply) link. Clicking a link will open a form allowing you to reply to that comment, and once you click "Reply" your reply will be saved. Enterprisey (talk!) 21:25, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. While it doesn't help me with the task that I'm working on, I wonder if it has the potential of addressing a feature I think is missing and have asked for but haven't seen it built yet.
When I respond to someone, I'd like to include a ping if I'm not on that person's talk page as you just did. The problem is, I have to manually add a template, then go up to the previous reply and look carefully to make sure I get the username. In some cases this is straightforward but some people's username is not exactly the same as the text and the signature. I copy and paste that into the template and sometimes mess up. Once I hit publish I may realize I messed up because it's red but then it's too late. Even if I fix it, the ping feature doesn't work unless I add the template and sign in the same step.
My assumption is that your script must be able to detect that there is a signature and presumably could access the username. From that, it ought to be straightforward to have an option in the reply form to start the reply with username. I wouldn't have to search to make sure I get the username exactly correct, it would pick up the username of the message I'm replying to. Is my assumption correct?--S Philbrick(Talk) 21:47, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You can now ping people from edit summary too; the name of the user is already inserted there, so it might be interesting to add a link. --Izno (talk) 21:54, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sphilbrick, yeah, I was actually thinking about adding this feature or a variant of it. Either we could have a ping template already in the text field, or we could ping the user in the edit summary. I was going to add an option, but wasn't sure if people would find it useful. It would be pretty easy to do it, though. Enterprisey (talk!) 21:56, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I would find it very useful.--S Philbrick(Talk) 23:35, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sphilbrick, I've added that feature. Enterprisey (talk!) 05:24, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, despite replying to you on your talk page, and having window.replyLinkPreloadPing = false; in my common.js, it is still auto-inserting that ping.. Galobtter (pingó mió) 08:27, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reconsidering Locus Page

Hi First of all, thank you for investing your valuable time in reviewing the Locus's credentials and giving me an opportunity to submit a few facts and references. I respect your comments and some of the concerns brought in light regarding the page and hence working towards an explanation for your kind consideration. I do understand where you are coming from. Just want to highlight that Locus.sh is the brand name for the supply chain automation/logistics optimization products and solutions used by the company. Locus.sh is one of the top logistics automation and optimization brand of India with the majority of its operations based out of Bangalore, India, however, the parent company is registered in Delaware, US. Locus is serving clients based in the US, Indonesia, Australia and Canada, however, the biggest focus is the Indian subcontinent. One of the reasons why most of the third party validation you see is from Indian publications. Please allow me a day to provide all the information and also suggestions for changes in the page that can be considered by the respected voters and Wikipedia Admin.

User/user in sigs and afdstats.py

Hi Enterprisey. A comment in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of double albums made me curious, but [2] returns no results. The only reason I can think of is Andrew using [[user:Andrew Davidson|Andrew D.]] in his signature. Would something like ([Uu])ser in afdstats.py solve that? Sam Sailor 08:42, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, I have way too many regular expressions floating around my various scripts & tools - mostly because I hit different edge cases in different tools. I should get around to unifying all of them. In this particular case, absolutely - and I should just make the entire namespace case-insensitive, since during reply-link testing I encountered a user who would sign [[USER:X]] ([[USER TALK:X|talk]])! Enterprisey (talk!) 07:41, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sam Sailor, should be fixed now. Enterprisey (talk!) 04:58, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Enterprisey, Thank you, works fine. (Does Reply-link remove the "[[User:##| ##]], " bit when posting on a matching User talk page? Leaving it in out of curiosity.) Sam Sailor 07:03, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delsort no longer visible on AfD pages

Hello Enterprisey, I use the delsort tool for occasional AfD discussions (in User:GermanJoe/vector.js). Usually the tool is shown in the "More" tab on top together with other installed tools such as rater, redirect highlighting and dash fixing. But now it's no longer showing (all other tools are still visible, I use Firefox 52.9.0). Maybe it's just some kind of loader issue or my clumsy call definition (I am not really experienced with more complex details of Wiki-functionality, and am just copypasting the installation instructions usually). I have other tools also installed at User:GermanJoe/common.js (just fyi). If you got some time, would you mind taking a quick look at the function call and possible issues please? I'd greatly appreciate any help. GermanJoe (talk) 19:54, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Maybe it helps as background info: the tool was still visible on 18 August, when I started an AfD nomination at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elixir Technologies Corporation (2nd nomination). GermanJoe (talk) 20:08, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GermanJoe, I located the problem. Your vector.js contains a call to mw.util.addPortletLink that isn't wrapped in the proper call, which means that all of the lines below it (including the line that imports the delsort script) won't run. You should copy the code at User:Enterprisey/vector.js (which is just the code at your vector.js with one modification - i.e. wrapping the addPortletLink call) to your vector.js, which should fix the issue. Enterprisey (talk!) 20:39, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That worked, thank you for your help. I knew, it had something to do with my less-than-optimal coding ;). GermanJoe (talk) 20:53, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lantern Entertainment is different from The Weinstein Company

Hi - I posted this on the Lantern Entertainment Talk page and saw you had undid some of the corrections, based on the below conversation was hoping you could assist in making the necessary corrections to the page/create a new Lantern Entertainment page. I haven't heard from user DGG since he agreed to make the split and as you are able to make edits and are a neutral party was hoping you could help.

Disclosing that I am an employee of the company Lantern Entertainment, I am noting that this article is incorrect in saying Lantern Entertainment is the new name for The Weinstein Company. The correct information is that The Weinstein Company has effectively dissolved and sold its assets in a bankruptcy court to Lantern Capital for $289 million. Lantern Entertainment owns those assets, but is an entirely separate company. How can this page be edited to reflect the accurate information?

references: https://deadline.com/2018/07/weinstein-company-sale-approved-judge-lantern-capital-1202424618/

https://www.thewrap.com/weinstein-co-lantern-entertainment/

  • I think we do need two articles. The Weinstein Company is by far the better known at present, and the principal article should be at that name, and will give the information about the sale of the assets. Latern is notable enough by itself for a separate page, where the link can be briefly stated. I'm prepared to do the split. raw wgPageNames on AFCRHS

Just FYI there are two raw wgPageName's in User:EnterpriseyBot/AFCRHS.js. I didn't find the source for it on your github, so I didn't fix 'em since I figured they'd get overwritten on the next bot update, but wanted to let you know! ~ Amory (utc) 15:43, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

AFD Stats not counting votes

I had voted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of men killed by women but AFD stats doesn't seem to include that. cc Σ since he's involved in the maintaince of the tool. --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 14:26, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Tyw7: It is because your talk page link in your sig is a link to User:Tyw7/t (a redirect to your talk page), rather than a link to User talk:Tyw7. The AfD stat tool looks for the talk page link for !votes (presumably because a lot of people have no user page link in their sig); because of this odd linking, it only seems to count your AfD !votes if you are the nominator. I changed the link in your sig at that AfD and now it shows up in the stat tool. I'd suggest fixing your sig? — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 02:02, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Insertcleverphrasehere, done. Is there a way to mass change my signature to link to User talk:Tyw7 on AFDs? --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 02:17, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Insertcleverphrasehere, it doesn't seem to want to count the vote for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Araya point battle and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frat shag. Also maybe Enterprisey or Sigma could tweak the tool to count users linking to redirects for their talk page? --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 02:39, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Tyw7: Someone with Autowikibrowser could probably do it easily, but I'm not certain why it won't work on those particular AfDs. I tried a number of things but nothing worked. It seems that the tool is confused by something about the page. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 05:01, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Insertcleverphrasehere, how can I know who has AutoWikiBrowser? Edit: I posted at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks#Change_signature_on_AFD_templates --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 16:06, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Really what should happen is that the tool works even if you have a subpage of your user page in wikitext. I'll get on that, but what I suspect happens is that the tool requires a user talk page to be linked, not just a user page. Enterprisey (talk!) 02:52, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Enterprisey, so I guess the tool is broken if the user does not link to the talk page or use some sub page to redirect users like I have done.
Do you think if I do User talk:Tyw7/t to skip the headers, will it work? --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 02:54, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Try it? It should, although I don't know if we detect subpages in the regular expression. Enterprisey (talk!) 02:55, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Enterprisey, nope it didn't. I tried it with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IKASI and if I add the "t" the page disappears from the stat. Removing the t makes stats count that page again. --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 02:56, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
