Orphaned non-free image (Image:Juntabox2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Juntabox2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 09:04, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah yes. I remember removing the nowcommons template, then I saw it was at commons and figured someone had redone it properly. Guess not. Well, I think they actually are the same, but I don't have access to Heim's book to verify. I think the image should probably be replaced anyway, even for sede vacante, as there isn't really a good reason to borrow Heim's image via Noonan's book when someone could redraw it.. One of the major contributors is insisting that he added that section, and what he did is not copyvio - which probably means that copyvio is everywhere. Still, if someone would volunteer to check everything carefully against the sources - remembering that one of the parts was a copyvio of a different source than the one cited - we may be able to salvage it. Fair use rationale for Image:Zcoq.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Zcoq.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Black Falcon (Talk) 20:31, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Non-Italian popes

Greetings. Just a quick question about an edit you made to Pope Benedict XVI. You deleted a category link to non-Italian popes, with the comment that "he's its only member." I wasn't sure if I understood your reason. He hasn't been the only non-Italian pope, as the category list shows. What did you mean, or was the deletion an oversight? Thanks for the clarification. You can respond here. --Anietor 23:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Cat Non-Italian popes contains subcats for non-Italian countries, including German popes, which Benedict XVI is a member of. Other than Benedict XVI, the Non-Italian popes category had no members, only subcats. That's what I meant in my edit summary "repetitive cat." Savidan 23:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Ciao! Thanks for you addition to Odoardo Farnese. Curiosly, that image is of a picture I had written an article before, so I added the link. Papal conclave, 1549-1550

Hi Savidan. You are off to such a great start on the article Papal conclave, 1549-1550 that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. Appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 02:25, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Don Bosco

As I had imagined, the addition of a lurid life episode of a venerated saint raised several censorship crusaders against it. I'd signal that Evrik for the second time removed the incriminated paragraph with feeble excuses. I also doubt he'd be behind another attempt from a unnamed user. I don't want to hamper you too much, anyway. I'd just need some help to sort the thing, if you're more expert than me, say: how to mention the effective ownership that he is exerting over the Bosco article; how to dirme the edit war etc. Thanks in advance and good work. --Attilios 23:41, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Giovanni Bosco

Hi Savidan, and thanks for your edit to the talk page here. Eminently sensible. I’d thought of writing something similar, but coming from atheist me (and Evrik and I do not like or respect each other very much) it would have been the opposite of oil on troubled waters. I don’t know whether you are a Catholic, but it is clear that you are are interested in and knowledgable about Catholicism, and not hostile to it. So he might take your arguments seriously.

Cheers! —Ian Spackman 08:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Leti

Ciao! I think, this fashion of call old Italian people by their "milanese", "Venetian", even "Ferrarese"!! regionality looks very old fashioned and not motivated. Very "1911 Britannica". One can reply that Italy was then a patchwork of small states, but (apart that at Leti's time Milan was not indepedent), curiously, people from, say, Lecco or Como would not easily listed as "a Lecchese literate" or a "Comasco engraver" etc. I don't see that for other countries people, say, from Saxony is called "a Saxon painter", or from California is called "a Californian politician" etc. I can't see why Italy must make an exception. Aside from my personal view, I see that here the most common practice is to call them simply "Italian" so let's get stuck on that. But, of course, let me know. Ciao and good work. --Attilios 18:02, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Ciao. I prefer to remain stuck on ethnicity. Just take France, Germany or even Spain (not only medieval... Germany was unified around the same time than Italy). In encyclopedical entries you have no reference of "Aquitanic" or "Saxon" or whatever were instead, at the time, consistent differences. For example, Occitanic civilization before 13th century was something far different from "French" (as a "Catalan" would be horrified to be defined a "Spanish" today) and so on. Not to speak of Polish people who were officially citizens of the Russian Empire but are anyway listed here, I think correctly, as "Polish". In the end, I notice that for all other countries regional nationality is avoided. I think, for Italy it originated from the Anglo-Saxon passion for Renaissance Florence: so, books started to get populated by "Florentine" and "Tuscan" people, and so on for the rest of Italy. I repeat, I've nothing against smaller nationalization by principle, but I think we should conform to the general habit in this Encyclopedia; and also think of not getting too specialized up to becoming rather deceiving. Do you think we'd offer a good service to a Burkina Faso wikiuser by describing one as a "Ferrarese painter"... he'd soon start to mumble what's "Ferrarese", and I'm afraid, the same for "Tuscan" and similar. Ciao and good work. --Attilios 19:45, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
The most problem is hyper-particolarism. Italy was so fragmented, that Dante would declare himself a Florentine, Cola di Rienzo a Roman, Leti a Milanese, yes, these are known places; but how about those from Parma, Piombino, Pisa, Naples, Amalfi, Gaeta, Asti, Pavia (endless etc. - ALL independent entities in one age or another) who would also declare themselves Parmense, Piombinese, Pisane etc. when abroad. It'd be a total chaos, mostly ununderstandable for any not-Italian to call them "Parmense painter", "Astigiano writer" etc.. A note: beware of most maps of Middle Ages and even modern times Italy: 99% of them truly do not show all the independent and semi-independent sub-states which existed. Mirandola, Piombino, Duchy of Castro, Duchy of Sora, county of Modica (not to speak of the city-states of 12th-13th centuries, they were some 500 or so)... San Marino is just a relic of such endless list of petty states. --Attilios 21:44, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Blanchflower.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Blanchflower.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 05:56, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

You're probably right; I'll go ahead and delete it myself. Savidan 01:36, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Zorkanthology.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Zorkanthology.jpg.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Eight Saints, by Skysmith (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Eight Saints fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

faulty redirect

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Eight Saints, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 08:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

For the life of me I can't see why this was deleted. The Eight Saints were the Florentine war council whom the war was named after. There is a sizable section in the article talking about the identity of the Eight Saints. That people have time to delete these baffles me. Savidan 15:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks again Savidan. Highly curious thing this is. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:06, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Wapedia

Are you a progressive or an agonist?

There are two things you could do. 1) jump through hoops to delete it, or 2) jump through hoops to fix it. Which of the two is more productive?

I've found that the second option above often takes less effort than the first.

Using prods and AfDs to delete work that you could easily fix seems irresponsible to me. On the one hand it's potentially destructive, on the other, it resembles extortion: "fix it or else." It forces others to have to fight (you) to keep Wikipedia intact. At least it feels that way. Wikipedians shouldn't be fighting each other or ordering each other around. Instead we should be assisting each other in any way that we can. Prods are killing the spirit of cooperation in the Wikipedia community.

An alternative approach would be to roll up your shirt sleeves and take on the task of fixing the article (assuming it can be fixed). And perhaps contacting the various contributors to seek help. More likely than not, you'd get accolades for your initiative, plenty of encouragement, and enthusiastic offers of assistance. Cooperation is so much better than conflict, don't you think?

So, in the spirit of cooperation and supporting your Wikipedian neighbors who took valuable time to work on that article, why don't you contact the management of Wapedia and find out how many users it has, and ask them where in the press those figures are reported?

That would clear up the notability issue one way or the other.

Also, if it turns out not to be notable, then it would belong in the Wikipedia namespace as a subpage of Wikipedia:Mirrors, from where we monitor and track mirrors and forks of Wikipedia. Or under Wikipedia:Tools, as it is a tool for accessing Wikipedia.

I hope I've been able to provide you with a glimpse at another way to look at things.

The Transhumanist 23:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't taking issue with the way the article was written, but the notability of the subject. Notability concerns cannot be "fixed" by writing the article better. This concern is particularly accute because the article concerns Wikipedia: notability guidelines must be applied to ourselves first, before we can justify turning them on garage bands and familiy pets. Contacting Wapedia to determine their notability simply won't do; there need to be reliable, published sources. Please see the notability guidelines for websites for more information about this. Moving the article to the Project space isn't that great either. Wikipedia:Tools is not for articles about tools but instructions on how to use them. I apologize for any grief which this prod has caused you, but I still do not think the website is notable, and intend to take to to AfD. Cheers, Savidan 02:04, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
"Rolling up your shirt sleeves" in this case refers to hunting down sources that prove notability. Notability has to do with how popular the thing is - we just have to find a reputable newsource that reports about the thing. Thanks for bringing my attention to this by the way. I did a quick survey of its notability, and here is what I found... Wapedia was started in August of 2004, and has since then spread around the world. It has an entry on many foreign-language wikipedias, and supports those versions of wikipedia as well. A google search got half-a-million hits, and a quick browse of those show that it is mentioned on computer geek sites all over the place. It appears to be being used by a hell of a lot of people via PDAs and cell phones. Now it's just a matter of finding a reputable news source, so searching the archives at PC World, Wired, CNN, etc. might be a good idea. The Transhumanist 02:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Google hits and foreign language Wikipedia articles are not sufficient. GNAA gets just about as many Google hits and look where it got them. Let me know when you a CNN article. FYI: I did do a bit of due diligence before making the nom. I also did a Lexis search (sorry that I can't link to it, but I searched Major Papers, all available dates), and found only one trivial mention in a Straits Times article. Savidan 02:22, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
You said you practiced due dilligence... Did you contact the creator/managers of Wapedia to ask them for references of their service's popularity? What references did they give you? The Transhumanist 02:46, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I've already made it clear to you that I consider that the wrong approach. I think that articles should be able to be written with published sources. I do not believe that articles should be written from first-hand experience or from (what scholarly sources call) "personal correspondence." If any sufficient sources did exist for this, I imagine they would be available online. If we were dealing with ancient history instead of internet technology, there might be a case to be made otherwise. Savidan 03:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Second Battle of Hogwarts?

I recently tried to create a redirect page to here for Second Battle of Hogwarts, but I noticed that it was protected from creation. I read the discussion on the page. Couldn't we just simply use it as a redirect page to the specified link above? Sincerely, Thrashmeister {U|T|C} 12:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

...*sigh*...I think there is more justification for creating a "Third Battle of Hogwarts" article for the repeated attempts of fans to insert this form of original research onto Wikipedia. Wait to see if that articles survives deletion before creating such redirects. Savidan 15:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Papacy began dates

I'm pleased to see, that You are interested in Popes, but some of them have wrong "papacy began dates" - these are installation dates, not election dates.Kask 15:04, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

It's unclear which is more important. Instead of just going through and changing it, maybe its better to just note which is which. Savidan 23:17, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

It's important to mark "papacy began day". But the marking of "consecration day" or "installation day" needs to change the Infobox. There is a disturbance about these dates because about before 795 year a pontificate began in the consecration day (after the confirmation by Emperor of Byzantine, his Exarch or the Frankish King), but later these rules changed and it has been election day.[2], [3], J.N.D. Kelly Dictionary of Popes, and etc. Benedict XVI is pope from April 19, not April 24.Kask 15:07, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, and there is also a problem about Leo X. He was elected on March 9 1513, but he was promulgated on March 11.Kask 14:42, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I would priviledge accuracy and exactness in these situations. Perhaps: March 9, 1513 (elected)<br>March 11, 1513 (promulgated) Savidan 17:07, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Cardinals

Hey, I was trying to look up the origin of cardinals in pectore. It seems you added a note to the Pope Paul III article that he was the first to do this,[4] but the 1913 CE article on him doesn't mention it, and the CE article on Cardinal implies it started with Pope Martin V. Do you remember your source? Gimmetrow 23:16, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shell babelfish 19:38, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Featured Article

Hello Savidan:

I have come to your talk page because of seeing the feature article Cardinal-nephew. I learned from the article history that you are a main editor, or perhaps the main editor. My congratulations!

I hope you don't mind a couple of questions.

I was surprised to see an almost empty talk page for the article, because the few articles I'm involved with have volumes of talk. Was the work done without "talk", or was the talk archived, or was discussion carried on somewhere else? If the answer is "without talk", this is a whole different mode of operation than what I have seen and I would like to hear more about the approach.

Second question - A few years ago, I read or heard somewhere that in the case of some Popes, nephew was a euphemism for son. I don't know if it is true. Can you comment on this?

Thank you, Wanderer57 02:30, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I much appreciate the information. It is refreshing to know there are articles without disputes raging in the background. Best wishes Wanderer57 03:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Amazing Facts

A Seventh Day Adventist has carefully expunged all evidence for this groups anti-Catholic reputation. He won't even allow mention of it. He obviously is defending his POV. You seem very good at this, so I would ask you to take a look at it and see what can be done. Thanks!

You may not have realized it, but you edited a page that was fully protected for stability reasons due to the mediation it is currently undergoing. -- Avi 02:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I didn't realize that. However, full protection does seem to be an inadequate solution if it means leaving a bunch of uncited and biased information (and almost certainly information which violates the BLP policy) in the article much longer. Savidan 04:54, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, and I'm not certain that you would not be allowed to make those kinds of edits. However, being that there are serious POV-related debates under mediation now, I figure I'd let you know. Personally, I think that as long as the edits made by a sysop to the article do not affect the articles stability vis-a-vis the mediation, and are more policy than content related, they should be OK. -- Avi 05:13, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Already reverted myself. Looks like this article needs a lot of improvement before it'll become anything respresenting npov (or even non-random-quotes-from-GOP-presidential-candidates pov). May as well just let the mediation continue. Savidan 06:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Blackgatewithtowers.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Blackgatewithtowers.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Franz Matt

Hello Savidan -

You requested a translation of the article about Franz Matt from the German Wiki quite a while ago (I believe). I wanted to let you know that I have just translated it, although it is still waiting to be proofread. I thought you might be interested to know.

Burr-Hamilton duel GA Sweeps Review: On Hold

As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I'm specifically going over all of the "World History-Americas" articles and just reviewed Burr-Hamilton duel. I am leaving this message on your page, along with the other relevant task forces/WikiProjects/editors to the article, since you significantly edited the article (as determined by WikiDashBoard) and figured you might be interested in helping to improve the article further. I believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues considering sourcing that should be addressed, and I'll leave the article on hold for seven days for them to be fixed. The article needs just a few more inline citations and some minor cleanup, and if fixed, I'll pass the article. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:28, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Denis Arndt

A tag has been placed on Denis Arndt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page you created, you may want to consult WP:Your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. D106 depot (talk) 07:06, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Scudworth2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Scudworth2.jpg.

Thanks for uploading Image:Gandhi-clonehigh-3.jpg.

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:30, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Power9.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Power9.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Fair use rationale for Image:Palantirrotk.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Palantirrotk.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Phalacrosis, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Replaceable fair use Image:Primeraaron.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Primeraaron.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Closedmouth (talk) 13:01, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Early life

I added material and quotes to your good article "Early life". With the exception of your description of Marcantonio Pacelli (I used Vatican info regarding his position under Pius IX), I kept all your good material, but had to regroup some, to fit the larger structure. Only good intentions -:)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gothmog.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gothmog.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Speedy deletion of Template:User SJS

A tag has been placed on Template:User SJS requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

White Mountain Art

At one point, you nominated White Mountain Art as a Good Article. I thought it had received this status, but I don't follow all the guideline stuff. Is it true that, should I add footnotes to substantiate some of my statements, that the article can be submitted for Good Article review? Please help me in this, since you seem to like the article. Thanks. I can't get to it right now, but I'm very capable of making the citations. Then, perhaps, you can tell me how to submit for GA. Again, thanks. JJ (talk) 23:45, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
I have been working steadily on White Mountain art. It's not ready for GA submission just yet, but can you take a look and tell me if it's moving in the right direction? Thanks. JJ (talk) 22:08, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Pius XII

Please look at the latest additions "After the War". I integrated existing text in the "Main" and added more "mains" as well as to the overall introduction.

I agree with your note. Reduced text somewhat to make sure it reflects the main points of additions since January 2008. New "main" liturgy. Integrated previous text into main. --Ambrosius007 (talk) 20:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
