Comment

He is notable. He played a part in one of the most important counter-terror operations ever. "On the other hand, if an event is of sufficient importance, even relatively minor participants may require their own articles, for example Howard Brennan, a witness to the JFK assassination."

(As an aside, his stand also raises important moral questions about one's responsibility for others.)

Suspension by Air France?

The whole chapter about suspension by Air France is wrong. Cited articles base on wrong nformation. Have met Michel Bacis in person and he absolutely disqualifies these reports. The only "suspension" was that he gt a few days off to recover and was back on duty on an AF A300 2 weeks later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.227.49.69 (talk) 21:06, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is based on reliable sources. Unless there are reliable sources saying otherwise, we need to use the sources we have. Marokwitz (talk) 03:02, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would have thought that if he did receive a suspension but was considered such a hero that he received this honour within several months of the incident, that there would be some sort of press/public reaction to this? Not being a French speaker or having access to those books I can't add anything myself but I would hope something exists and perhaps it would add to the section on his suspension. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HallucigeniaUK (talkcontribs) 23:59, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, Bacos says he was given two weeks of vacation, the informations about a suspension probably comes from a wrong translation to english. I edited the page.

"Ensuite, nous avons téléphoné à nos familles puis pris un vol pour Paris où nous attendait la direction générale d’Air France qui nous a félicités et remerciés et nous a accordé quinze jours de vacances pour récupérer." ("Then, we called our family, and took a plane to Paris, where the management team of Air France congratulated us, and gave us two weeks to rest."). http://www.hamodia.fr/article.php?id=2257

And how was he rewarded for his heroism by Air France — presumably with a generous package of perks and benefits. “Not exactly,” he replies. “They gave me a fortnight off. After which I asked if I could pilot the first Air France plane back to Tel Aviv. You must never give in to terrorism, you know. Once you do, it’s the beginning of the end.” http://www.thejc.com/lifestyle/interviews/68894/michel-bacos-air-france-hero-entebbe

Dazed

What does "was dazed in the attack" mean? Injured, surprised, or what? Dazed is not an encyclopaedic termRoyalcourtier (talk) 05:00, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
