Need an article, not just a redirect

[edit]

This page seems appropriate for a discussion, not just of Seeing Eye dogs (which is appropriate for redirection to Guide dog, but of The Seeing Eye itself.

Any thoughts on whether original version of this page is a good jumping off point, or whether we'd be better off starting fresh?

Yes, I'm interested in contributing. --Lumpish Scholar 23:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is an article about a specific school, the page that was redirect to guide dog is about guide dogs in general. I removed the redirect and restored the ordinal article and did some wikification. This article still needs work Jeepday 13:32, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ettiquette Section

[edit]

I'm new to the Wikipedia community, and I have a teacher that helps raise puppies with the Seeing Eye. I was just wondering, is this section truly appropriate? These are suggested etiquette guidelines copied and pasted from a PDF from The Seeing Eye. It's not fact based or informational. Thoughts? Sarawebber233 (talk) 17:28, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinates

[edit]

It is rather silly to give the coordinates of The Seeing Eye, although, I admit, looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Geographical coordinates, it is not expressly forbidden. In any case, it is at least doubly silly to give them twice, once in the upper right corner, and once in the Infobox. I would gladly accept recommendations as to which one to get rid of and how. Primary sources

[edit]

Much of the article is based on Seeing Eye publications including the Seeing Eye website. This is highly unsatisfactory in an encyclopedia, for all the usual reasons, some of which are summarized in WP:SECONDARY and WP:INDEPENDENT.

I have been touching up the use of sources. For instance I have modified some citations of the Seeing Eye website to be more usable. But I recognize that this does not solve the problem of quality sources.

Probably some of the material that is backed up only by Seeing Eye sources is just plain non-encyclopedic and should be removed. For example, perhaps the whole description of puppy raising and basic training could be replaced by a one- or two-sentence summary. Who would expect to see such detail in Wikipedia? I would be interested to hear from more experienced editors about this. Bruce leverett (talk) 20:26, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Photo of Morris Frank Park historical markers

[edit]

The photo of the historical markers in Morris Frank Park does not improve this article or the Morris Frank article. The photo does not include any interesting information about Frank or The Seeing Eye that is not already in the articles. Bruce leverett (talk) 16:08, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
