"I think therefore I am".

The philosopher René Descartes Is credited with the saying “cogito, ergo sum”, in Latin: Translated to English it reads “I think, therefore I am”. The great mathematician should have said, “I stink therefore I am”!

Surname Spelling

Is the correct spelling of the surname "Descartes" (one word), "Des Cartes" (two words), or "Des-Cartes" (hyphenated)? The printed works appear to give both the one word or hyphenated versions. That he dropped the tussenvoegsel for the Latin version of his name might suggest two word usage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.168.242.44 (talk) 05:59, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Remains

His remains are not in the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Even though his name is engraved on the floor, there is no tomb, and if you ask the church keepers, they will tell you the engravings are symbolic and that there are no more bones there. The skull is in the Musee de l'Homme but it is not in display, the real skull is in the research floor. 2A02:1811:C0E:9C00:C1A5:C871:B9D7:3E97 (talk) 01:56, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
