This is a list of games in which use of the Konami Code (↑, ↑, ↓, ↓, ←, →, ←, →, B, A) significantly affects gameplay, or in which the code is notably referenced.

Konami games

Gradius series

  • Gradius (NES) - The first ever use of the code. Pausing the game and then entering the code activates all powerups except for Speed Up, Double, and Laser.
  • Gradius (PC Engine) - Pausing the game and then entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, II, and I activates full options, missile, and shield.
  • Life Force/Salamander (NES) - Enter the code at the title screen for 30 lives.
  • Gradius II (Family Computer) - Entering the code at the title screen starts the player with thirty lives. Alternatively, the code can also be used during the game like in the first Gradius to activate every powerup.
  • Gradius II (PC Engine) - Pausing the game and then entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, II, and I activates full power. This code works more than once on Easy mode.
  • Nemesis (GB) - Pausing the game and entering the code will give the player full options.
  • Gradius III (Super NES) - Normally entering the code while paused activates all powerups, but the player's ship is instantly destroyed upon unpausing. The player must enter the code by substituting Left and Right on the control pad with the L and R shoulder buttons to apply the power-ups without penalty.
  • Gradius III (PS2) - Pausing the game and then entering the code activates all powerups except for Speed Up and Double.
  • Parodius Da! －Shinwa kara Owarai e－ (GB) - Pausing the game and then entering the code activates all powerups except for Speed Up and Double. Entering the code when the Konami Logo appears enables the Sound Test mode.
  • Parodius Da! －Shinwa kara Owarai e－ (Super Famicom/SNES) - Pausing the game and then entering the code destroys the player upon unpausing. However, entering B, B, X, X, A, Y, A, Y, Up, Left and unpausing will fully power up the player. The second code uses the same finger-movements when the SNES controller is held upside-down.
  • Gradius Deluxe Pack (Saturn) - Pausing the game then entering the code will give full weapons only on Saturn Easy and Saturn Hard difficulty levels.
  • Gradius Gaiden (PS) - Pausing the game then entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle will result in a power up.
  • Gradius Galaxies (GBA) - Normally entering the code while paused activates all powerups, but the player is instantly destroyed upon unpausing. However, if the player enters the code and substitutes the L and R buttons for Left and Right, the powerups are applied without penalty. Entering Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B will result in full powerups, but subtracts one life per use. Down, Down, Up, Up, R, L, R, L, A, B gives full powerups followed shortly by self destruction.
  • Gradius IV Fukkatsu (PS2, PSP) - Pausing the game and then entering the code activates all powerups except for Speed Up and Double.
  • Gradius V (PS2) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, L1, R1 while paused gives full powerups, including the Laser weapon. Using L2 and R2 for the final two buttons gives the Double Shot instead.
  • Gradius ReBirth (Wii) - Pausing the game and then entering this code will give the player's ship four options.

Contra series

  • Contra (NES) - Entering the code at the title screen gives the player 30 lives. If the two-player option is picked using the select button before or after entering the code, both players will have 30 lives. In the Japanese version, the 30 lives code can be used alongside a stage select code exclusive to that version.
  • Operation C (GB) - Entering the code at the title screen (followed B and A again) will enable the Stage Select mode. Choose the desired stage by pressing select and then press start to begin. This code does not work in the Japanese version (Contra), since the Stage Select screen is a default feature.
  • Contra: Shattered Soldier (PS2) - At the title screen, pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, R3 on the second controller gives the player 30 lives upon starting the game.
  • Neo Contra (PS2) - Same as Contra: Shattered Soldier
  • Contra 4 (DS) - Entering the code during gameplay in the pause menu will power-up whatever weapons the player is currently carrying. The code can only be entered once per stage, as inputting it a second time will kill off the player, taking away a life. This code has no effect on the Easy setting, where all the weapons picked by the player are upgraded by default. The code also works on the unlockable emulated version of the NES Contra included with the game, with the A and B buttons being assigned to B and Y respectively.

Castlevania series

  • Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula Kun (Famicom) - Entering the code at the title screen will display a black screen with the text "There's nothing here!" in Japanese. In the unofficial translation hack of the game, this was reworded as "Sorry, that won't work!".
  • Castlevania: Bloodlines (Mega Drive/Genesis) - Entering the code at the title screen (a sound will confirm it) enables the selection of the Expert difficulty in the option screen. The code also gives the player the possibility of starting the game with 9 lives if it is entered at the title screen after the music settings in the option screen have been set to BGM 05 and SE 073.
  • Castlevania Chronicles (PS) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle on the title screen will take the player to a hidden options menu that allows them to adjust the "system time" and turn on/off the transparency of the status bar in Original mode. The system time affects small things in the game, like the hands on the clock tower.
  • Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA) - Entering the code when the Konami logo appears and choose Boss Rush to play as the original Simon Belmont, with the music and animations from the original Castlevania for NES. While significantly harder due to the limited movement of Simon Belmont, the player can do more damage with this character and collect far more hearts to fuel subweapon use against the bosses than the other two characters. Simon is also limited to special weapons from the first game: Holy Water, Knife, Axe, and Cross. (Additionally, the Holy Water weapon gives the "static flame" from the original Castlevania, not the moving flame from when Juste uses it.)
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Xbox360/PS3) - Entering it at the Load Screen of a Level (With Analog Sticks) and you get a Cheat Menu at the Extras Point.

Dance Dance Revolution

The Konami Code has been referenced in routines for some songs on Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series, and has also been an unlock mechanism on some versions:

  • Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix (Arcade, PS) - The Single steps on Basic difficulty for the song "Make A Jam!" include the directional portion of the code (i.e. without B or A) five times throughout the song. A faint chime is heard in the music after each such pattern. The song was also a remix of a jingle played behind the "walking" Konami logo animation contained in some older games.
  • Dance Dance Revolution 2ndRemix (PS) - Entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right on the Mode Selection Screen will unlock Super Mode.
  • Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix (Arcade) - The Single steps on Basic difficulty for the song "It Only Takes a Minute" begin with the directional portion of the code.
  • Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix (PS) - The last 5 pictures in the Gallery are unlocked by highlighting #224 and entering the code, replacing B and A with X and O, respectively. (This is because the X and O buttons are on the same locations on the PSX controller as the B and A buttons are on the SNES controller.)
  • Dance Dance Revolution Extreme (Arcade, PS2) - All charts for the song Twinbee ~Generation X~ contain the directional portion of the Konami Code as part of their charts, and the doubles charts all contain the sequence on the left pad, a reference to the code traditionally being entered by player 1.
  • Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix (Xbox) - If a gamepad is plugged in to the fourth controller port, and the code is entered during the credits, all of the game's hidden songs will be instantly unlocked.
  • Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2 (Xbox) - While in the credits screen, entering the code in sequence then in reverse unlocks all content.
  • Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova 2 (PS2) - While in the controller setup menu on the Japanese version of the game, using the Konami Code will unlock the alternate outfit for each of the dancers and makes them available in the shop.
  • Dance Dance Revolution X (Arcade, PS2) - The song 30 Lives (Up-Up-Down-Dance Mix) by The Motion Sick, is directly about the Konami Code itself.

Other Konami games (in alphabetical order)

  • Batman Returns (Super NES) - In options, use controller 2 and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Use controller 1 to adjust the number of lives. When finished, the player can retype the code but instead of the second down press up twice.
  • Beatmania GB (GBC) - Entering the password UUDDLRLRBA unlocks all songs and play modes.
  • Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand (GBA) - In a certain room the player will find a sign with the Konami Code. Entering the code will reveal a hidden chest.
  • Crisis Force (Family Computer) - When the code is entered at the title screen, the player will start with 15 lives.
  • Deadly Arts (Nintendo 64) - Entering the code on the title screen unlocks Gouriki as a playable character. Entering the code backwards unlocks Reiji.
  • Death, Jr. (PSP) - On the pause menu, holding L and pressing up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, X, O provides the player with all weapons and weapon upgrades
  • Death, Jr. 2: Root of Evil (PSP) - On the pause menu, holding L and pressing up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, X, O provides the player with all weapons and weapon upgrades
  • Detana!! TwinBee (PC Engine) - At the title screen press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, II, and I to select up to 9 credits in the options menu. Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Right, Left, Right, Left, I, II on the second controller (a multi-tap is required) will allow the selection of up to ten ships in the options menu. Reversing the code, on the title screen press I, II, Right, Left, Right, Left, Down, Down, Up, and Up on controller three to unlock 'Vmode' (Arcade Mode) in the options menu.
  • Detana Twinbee Yahoo! Deluxe Pack (PS, Saturn) - In the PS version, pause the game in Arcade Mode and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle to unlock Dark Play. In the Saturn version, substitute X and Circle with the B and A buttons.
  • DrumMania (Arcade) - On the first "mix" of this game, the drum pads and bass pedals are used to activate the Expert Real difficulty level. The code to do so is the Konami code, using the hi-hat, snare, hi-tom, and lo-tom for up, down, left, and right, respectively, and the bass pedal for both B and A.
  • Fighting Eleven / International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (Super Famicom/SNES) - This code replaces the referee with a dog.
  • Flame of Recca: Final Burning (PS2) - At the title screen, hold L1 and R1 button and enter the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle) to unlock Joker.
  • Frogger (Xbox 360) - When selecting to play 1 or 2 players, input the directions of the code on the D-pad of the controller, then B and A, this will make Frogger bigger. This code does not work when playing with the original graphics.
  • Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Douchuu: Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Wake (Super Famicom) - At the end of Sasuke's world, he races a giant robot in the Goemon Impact. During this event, the player has to press the D-Pad in the directions marked on the metal walls that block their progress to raise them. The first pattern is ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → which is the Konami Code without the ending "B, A" sequence.
  • Goemon Shin Sedai Shuumei! (PS) - Pausing the game and then entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, and Circle Goemon's Weapon Level is MAX.
  • Gyruss (NES) - The code must be entered in reverse order. Entering A, B, Right, Left, Right, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up at the title screen will give the player 30 lives.
  • Hayate the Combat Butler: Boku ga Romeo de Romeo ga Boku de (DS) - Inputting the directions of the code after completing the game will unlock voices in Omake Mode.
  • Hellboy: The Science of Evil (PSP) - Pausing the game and then entering the code Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle will give the player two grenades of each grenade type.
  • International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (Super NES, PS) - When used, it turns the referee into a dog. In the PS version, A and B corresponds with Circle and X.
  • International Superstar Soccer 98 (N64) - There are two Konami-type codes in this one:
to unlock all six hidden teams, press C-Up, Up, C-Up, Up, C-Down, Down, C-Down, Down, C-Left, Left, C-Right, Right, C-Left, Left, C-Right, Right, B, A, hold Z and press Start(voice:"World Class")
to activate the big head mode, a reverse Konami code has to be put in with the C-Button, being: C-Down, C-Down, C-Up, C-Up, C-Right, C-Left, C-Right, C-Left, B, A, hold Z and press Start(crowd:*laughs*)
  • International Track and Field 2000 (PS) - On the Select Event screen choose the event you want. Then input the code by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X. A zap will confirm the code if entered correctly. Your athlete will be dressed as Konami Man (male) and Konami Woman (female), two superhero-type characters from early Konami Famicom games.
  • Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced (GBA) - When the code is entered on any main menu of a game, a version of the game with enhanced graphics and/or additional features or extra lives will be made available.
  • The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Super NES) - A villager will reference the code by telling the player "If you press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, it will do nothing."
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (PS2) - After finishing the game, when the clear code is presented on-screen, pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X and Circle will cause Snake to remark "STOP FOOLIN' AROUND KID!", confirming the code. It cannot be used again once the clear data has been saved, since the code is already confirmed.
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2, Xbox, PC) - In addition to the usage in the original Sons of Liberty, entering "UUDDLRLRBA" as the player's username in Missions mode will unlock all missions and characters.
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) - This game (along with its upgraded counterpart, Subsistence) features several usages of the code
Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Square, and Triangle when the Konami logo first appears will cause it to flash, confirming the code. This will change the staff in the game's opening title sequence to display the "Opening Title Staff" - the staff who produced the title sequence.
When fighting The End, entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Square, and Triangle in the map viewer will show his location. The code needs to be entered each time the player looks at the map viewer. This only works on Normal difficulty setting or below.
Although not an actual cheat, using CQC to interrogate EVA near the end of the game will sometimes make her recite part of the Konami Code.
After finishing the game, when the Game Clear message is presented on-screen pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, O will make Snake remark "One More to Go...".
  • MLB Power Pros (PS2), (Wii) - Entering the code on the "View or Delete Custom Players" display unlocks the ability to view MLB players in the Custom Players Menu.
  • Nagano Winter Olympics '98 (PS, N64) - In the freestyle aerials event, one of the jumps (bDfDf) requires inputting the Konami code quickly to complete successfully. Additionally, after the player receives a medal in each event, using the code on the Achievements screen will start the credits sequence.
  • NBA Give 'N Go (Famicom/NES) - Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A on title screen to unlock “Super Difficulty Level” in the Options menu.
  • Pop'n Twinbee (Super NES) - Entering the code will unlock an extra difficulty level. Entering the code in-game while paused crashes the player's ship.
  • Raging Fighter (GB) - Entering the code at the title screen will enable mirror matches in the Normal 1-Player Mode. Switching the order of the A and B buttons will do the same thing for in the Normal Versus Mode. To enable the code in 1-Player Mania, the B button must be pressed twice instead of B and A. To enable the code in Versus Mania, the same thing must be done but with the A button.
  • Rocket Knight (Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, Steam) - Entering the code at the main menu will temporarily unlock the two bonus character skins. Quitting and restarting the game will reset the locks on the skins.
  • SAW2 (PS3, PC, 360) The code can be entered at the main menu while holding R
  • Silent Hill 3 (PS2, PC) - Beating the game once, then entering the code in the title screen will cause Douglas Cartland, a supporting character, to appear in his underwear in each cutscene.
  • Silent Hill: Homecoming (PS3, 360) - Entering the code during the main menu will unlock the costume young Alex. This version of him appears in the game during flashback cutscenes.
  • Silent Hill: Origins (PSP, PS2) - On the second playthrough and up, entering the code during gameplay will unlock the "Codebreaker" costume, which makes Travis look identical to Vincent from Silent Hill 3.
  • Sunday VS Magazine: Shuuketsu! Choujou Daikessen!
  • Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge - If the code is entered at the title screen, a level select feature becomes available.
  • Top Gun: The Second Mission (NES) - To receive three additional planes for every 20,000 points. Go to the title screen and enter the code to begin.
  • Twinbee: Rainbow Bell Adventure (Super NES) - Pausing the game and entering the code will allow a player to switch characters. Replacing Left and Right with L and R respectively will give the player full health and all power-ups.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force (PSP) - Entering the Konami Code at the card shop will unlock a booster pack with cards based on other Konami games, such as Gradius and Ganbare Goemon.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 (PSP) - Entering the Konami Code at the card shop will unlock a booster pack with cards based on other Konami games, such as Gradius and Ganbare Goemon.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3 (PSP) - Entering the Konami Code at the card shop will unlock a booster pack with cards based on other Konami games, such as Gradius and Ganbare Goemon.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom (Nintendo GameCube) - Entering the code during a battle gives the player extra money.
  • Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (PS2) - While fighting the Vic Viper boss in Extra Missions Mode, entering the code with L1 and R1 instead of A and B activates the "Zoradius" mini-game. Entering the same code again in "Zoradius" while paused gives the player full powerups.

Outside Konami

  • Advent Rising - Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right black white x on the pause menu brings up a cheat menu.
  • Achievement Unlocked (Online) - Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A to unlock an achievement ("Too Much Contra").
  • Aggressive Inline (Z-Axis, PS2) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A Unlocks All Levels/Park Editor Themes.
  • A Knight's Story 2 (Online) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A while running/fighting gives you a trophy that looks like a "K".
  • Anti-Idle: The Game (Online) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A the message "I'm not Konami" appears in the breaking news menu, the player unlocks an Achievement and gain 10% boost.
  • Armed Police Batrider (8ing/Raizing, Arcade) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A at the title screen allows the player to select a single ship instead of a team of three ships. Inputting the same command but reversing the order of the last two button presses will unlock ships from Battle Garegga and the Mahou Daisakusen series.
  • Battle Garegga (8ing/Raizing, Arcade) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Fire, Bomb, Option on the title screen grants access to ships from Mahou Daisakusen.
  • Bolt (iPhone) - Pressing "up switch", "up switch", "down switch", "down switch", "left switch", "right switch", "left switch", "right switch", "BOLT" unlocks a hidden "Party Mode" which causes the bolts to randomly change colors and flash.
  • B.C. Kid (Hudson Soft, Amiga) - Select OPTIONS from the title screen. On the option screen use and enter the following sequence: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, then begin a game to gain infinite lives.
  • Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (Naughty Dog, PS) - Entering code in the start menu (with 'square' instead of B and A) unlocks a demo of Spyro the Dragon.
  • Code Lyoko (DS) - Entering the code with the game paused in 3D mode unlocks all combos and upgrades, grants the maximum amount of money, refills health, and rejuvenates energy, essentially every positive thing a player could ask for.
  • Cosmic Epsilon (Famicom) - Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A on the title screen to see the hidden message "I AM NOT KONANI".
  • Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 (Z-Axis, Nintendo GameCube) - Press up, up, down, down, left, right, right, left and finally B will Unlock Mike Laird's Alternate Outfit.
  • Daytona USA (Sega AM-2, Sega Saturn) - Pressing up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, C on the SEGA screen will start a "Maniac" Mode that increases the difficulty by a significant amount.
  • digg.com (website) - Press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A to expand all comment threads on an article's overview page.
  • Dong Dong Nao II: Guo Zhong Ying Wen (Middle School English II) (Sachen, Famicom) - Entering the code at the title screen will allow the player to play a stand-alone game of Pyramid, which is usually only available as a bonus round in the main game.
  • Double Dragon Advance (Atlus, GBA) - At the Option Menu, hold Select and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left and Right to unlock the Expert difficulty setting.
  • Drymouth (Demiforce, GBC) - Entering the code at the title screen will enable a secret fourth character who can use all of the other characters' items.
  • Fat Slice (online game)- Entering the code (without the start and select) will turn the cursor into a light-saber.
  • Final Fight 2 (Capcom, SNES) - This game features a variant on the code: Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, L, R. When entered at the title screen, both players will be able to select the same character in a two player game.
  • FLIP (iPhone) - Drawing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A unlocks a hidden level selection screen containing nearly 200 puzzles. Drawing is done on the "Play" selection screen with your finger - letters are drawn from bottom left. FLIP was developed by eBattalion.
  • Gish (Chronic Logic, PC) - Enter Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, "A", Space, entered on the "Chronic Logic presents" screen to unlock the game's turbo mode.
  • GameSpot (website) - Entering the code (on the keyboard: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, enter) on most pages of GameSpot's website will load the page for Contra cheats.
  • Giant Bomb (website) - Entering the code anywhere on the site will load the Contra page.
  • Google Reader (website) - Entering the code (on the keyboard: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A) enables or disables a "ninja"-themed background image for the left-hand navigation and changes all unread counts to 30
  • Grandia (Game Arts, Saturn and PS) - A door unlock code in this game is Right, Right, Left, Left, Down, Up, Down, Up, a simple rearrangement of the Konami Code (with Up & Down and Left & Right are reversed).
  • Half-Life 2 (Valve, Xbox) - pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A in gameplay, gives the player 25 health points.
  • Heli Attack 3 (Squarecircleco, PC) - After clicking "players" and "cheats", type Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start into the box to unlock all weapons.
  • I Dont Even Game - To pass a level of the game, the player has to press these keys in order to give the ghost "The Thirty Lives Code."
  • Iji - Typing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A in the title screen presents a message mocking the player for trying to use such an overused code.
  • I'm O.K - A Murder Simulator (Thompsonsoft, PC) - Pressing the keys of this code on the game's start screen followed by enter will show a Hot Coffee mod parody.
  • In The Groove (Roxor Games, PlayStation 2) - Entering the code at the main menu will always make the "special ending" play at the end of a set of songs. In The Groove is readily comparable to Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series; in fact, Konami currently owns the franchise as of 2006.
  • Incredibles, The (TH3 and Heavy Iron Studios, PC, Mac, Xbox, PS2) - Inputting the code into the cheats keyboard "UUDDLRLRBAS" gives the player 25% health, and can be used an unlimited number of times. [1]
  • Insaniquarium (PopCap and Flying Bear, Macromedia Flash) - Type the code on the main screen to enter the Sandbox Mode, in which many game elements can be placed by hitting keys on the keyboard.
  • Jam Sessions (Plato, DS) - On the "Free Play" screen press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right to unlock 3 hidden songs.

  • Kingdom of Loathing (Asymmetric Publications, web-based) - The code is the solution to a puzzle, and must be entered as part of solving the primary quest.
  • Knuckles in Sonic 2 (Sega Genesis) - On the title screen press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Hold A and press Start to access the level select.
  • La-Mulana (PC) - the village elder will occasionally recite the code when the player enters his hut.
  • The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (Nintendo GameCube) - A variation (same as normal, but with L, L, R, R, at the end) grants invincibility when entered in the pause menu.
  • Legends of Wrestling (Nintendo GameCube, Xbox, PS2) - Enter code to unlock all wrestlers.
  • Les Menuires (website) - Entering the code on the home page of www.lesmenuires.com Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A to unlock an Wallpaper.
  • Mercenaries 2 (Playstation 3) - Enter the code in the PDA and it will unlock the Nuclear Bunker Buster.
  • MLB.com (website) - Enter the code on the MLB.TV Media Player in order to enable a hidden Slo-Mo mode. While an inverted code (Down Down Up Up Right Left Right Left B A) will unlock a hidden camera filter mode. Use 1-0 on your number pad to activate filters, 1-9, while 0 clears them.
  • Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia (Xbox 360) - At the title screen, enter the Konami Code to bring up the typing console that enables cheats.
  • Mortal Kombat 3 (Williams Entertainment, SNES) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, A, B, A will bring up the 'Kool Stuff' menu
  • Ms. Pac-Man And Galaga: Class Of 1981 (Midway, Arcade) - When the combination Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left is performed, the machine makes a dot-gulping sound, and pressing Start begins a session of the original Pac-Man.
  • MySims (Electronic Arts, Wii) - For entering codes to unlock hidden items, enter 2, 1, Down, Up, Down, Up, Left, Left, Right, Right in the vertical position. Holding it the horizontal NES-style reveals that it is the code backwards.
  • NBA Jam (2010 video game) (Wii), (Xbox 360) and (PS3) - Entering the Konami Code on the start screen will unlock the Beastie Boys for play in the game. For Wii replace B and A with 1 and 2 while on Playstation 3 it will be O and X.
  • Ninja Wars (Facebook, Website) - Konami Komando -Master of the ancient art of Konami! Achievement. Click on the Daimyo and press "up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right,b,a, {enter}"
  • North and South (Kemco, NES) - Enter the Konami code at the title screen to unlock the sound test.
  • OMGPOP (website) - If someone presses up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, on the Hover Kart 'How To Play' screen they will unlock a secret kart (Ford Fiesta with extra item slot and drift kit).
  • The Orange Box (Valve, Xbox 360, PS3) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A (Circle, X on the PS3) in either Half-Life 2, Episode One or Episode Two spawns a medkit directly to the player's location, which replenishes a maximum of 25 health points.
  • Palm Pre (phone, Palm, Inc.) - Entering upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart on the phone's launcher screen turns on the phone's developer mode, which is used to connect the device to a computer running the webOS Software Development Kit.
  • Plants vs. Zombies (PopCap, PC, iPhone OS) - Typing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A on the keyboard will produce the noise made when clicking on an in-game item to pick it up, but has no discernible effect. Crazy Dave, when trying to explain Dr. Zomboss's weakness, will say "Up up down down left right left right" before realizing it's not his weakness and moving on.
  • Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (Ubisoft, PS2) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, Square, Circle, Square on the pause screen will yield a chainsaw as the secondary weapon.
  • Quake 4 (id Software, Xbox 360) - While playing, press the back button on the controller to bring up the objectives window. Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A to instantly complete all objectives.
  • Quizocalypse (Wolpertinger Games, Xbox Live Indie Games) - Entering the code (UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A) on the D-Pad will render the game in a pixelated retro style. Entering the code again switches rendering back to normal.
  • The King of Rally (Meldac), Super Famicom - While the Round demos are running, tap UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B and A on controller 1. You hear a sound if it works. Select the round and when running out of fuel during the race, pause using START and enter the code. Your fuel tank is instantly replenished.
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Ubisoft, Xbox) - Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A during gameplay to turn on god mode.
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (PS2) - Entering the code during vid-comic play (any vid-comic at all), slightly modified to "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Circle, Square, Square," will dress Qwark up in a tutu. Revealed by Al after completion of vid-comic 4.
  • Resident Evil 2 (Capcom, PC/Dreamcast/Dual Shock on PlayStation) - Pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, 'R' Trigger will give you infinite ammo for all weapons.
  • Recognize-Security (website) - Entering the code (on the keyboard: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, enter) on most pages of the Recognize-Security website will load a Matrix digital rain page.

  • Secret Agent Clank (PSP) - Entering the code after obtaining Dallas' Chalice of Power "activates" the chalice, refiling the players health bar once per level. The code is slightly modified as "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle."
  • Smart Ball (SNES) - When the title screen says "Push Start Button", press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start to select a stage.
  • Sonic Chaos (Game Gear) - At the title screen, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Right, Left, Right, Left, 1, 2, Start for level select. Additionally, reversing the directions (Down, Down, Up, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right, 1, 2, Start) activates a cheat mode and sound test.
  • Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (Square Enix, PS2) - Equipping the Rabbit Ears Chalice will allow said character to self destruct when the Konami Code is entered.
  • Star Wars: The Clone Wars (LucasArts, PS2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube) - At any menu screen, when the code is entered, the Ewok celebration song from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi will play.
  • Star Wars: Rebel Assault (LucasArts, PC) - When entered at the LucasArts logo, at the end it will make a chime and goofy voices will chorus "LucasArts", this will engage the in-game cheat menu.
  • Super Chick Sisters (PETA) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Enter, on the home page will cause a cascade of Nuggets in costumes.
  • Super Energy Apocalypse: RECYCLED (Larsiusprime, PC) - When inputted at the title screen, it unlocks the ending song.
  • Super Monkey Ball Jr. (Sega, Game Boy Advance) - Inputting the code will temporarily change the title screen to "Super Nice Try".
  • Super Nova (Taito, SNES) - Entering Up, Up, Down, Down, L, R, L, R, B, A on the pause screen will cause the player to lose a life.
  • Tales of Phantasia (Wolfteam/Namco Tales Studio, Super Famicom/PlayStation/GBA) - Moria Gallery/Morlia Mineshaft has a basement floor with a switch-stepping puzzle, with 4 switches pointing in the 4 cardinal directions. Stepping on the switches in the order Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right unlocks a nearby door. Solving this puzzle is mandatory to completing the dungeon and the game (however, a sign in an earlier room hints at the correct order).
  • Tetris (version published by Tengen) (NES) - Pausing the game and entering the standard Konami Code will change the current tetromino into an I tetromino. Can be used once per game.
  • Tom and Jerry (Hi-Tech Expressions, NES) - When the code is entered (followed by Select) at the title screen, one can play the game with an infinite nine lives.
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (Activision, GBA) - The code can be entered at the main menu while holding R to unlock Spider-Man.
  • Trogdor (The Brothers Chaps, Macromedia Flash) - In the second TROGDOR title screen where the G (in the title) can be held to show some hints, enter the Konami Code using the keyboard and Trogdor will start the game with 30 lives, an obvious nod to Contra.
  • Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue (Electronic Arts, GBA) - Pausing the game with Select and then entering up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A and then Start unpauses the game and gives the main character, TY, a million "opals" (his unit of currency).
  • Umineko no Naku Koro Ni (07th Expansion, PC) - In episode 1, Rudolf pulls Battler's ear up twice, then down twice, then left and right twice, while saying "Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right."
  • Viva Piñata: Party Animals (Xbox 360) - Entering the code on the main menu will unlock an achievement worth 10 gamerpoints, entitled "Classic Gamer Reward"
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ (Nintendo, GBA) and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$ (Nintendo, Nintendo GameCube) - Both versions include an Orbulon microgame in which the player must enter a sequence of directional and button commands as listed on the screen.   • Zenius -I- Vanisher (website) - Entering a reverse of the Konami code (Enter, A, B, Right arrow, Left arrow, Right arrow, Left arrow, Down arrow, Down arrow, Up arrow, Up arrow) on the keyboard while viewing the website will redirect the browser to YouTube and Rickroll viewers with Rick Astley's song "Never Gonna Give You Up". This is in light of news that Konami will include the song in the next installment of Dance Dance Revolution.[2]

  • Gaia Online (website) - If you press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, and Enter, the top screen will shake and your character will jump out and run across the screen.
  • 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3) - Whilst creating your hero if you input 'up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, square, triangle, your shield would become invisible.
  • LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3) - In the arcade in the level called "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Negativitron" (Formally known as "Lift Off"), if you input 'up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, left, right, X, O' into the broken arcade machine, it will explode and reveal a set of numbers behind it.
