Knuckles Strength
ok, there's an issue going with describing his strength in the section. His lifting strength hasn't really been described in any form of media and the notion of him being the strongest character physically is not true in the slightest.--Neofcon 20:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- What is the difference between punching meteors (continuing what was said above in Sonic City section) and lifting them when the punch accomplishes the same purpose as throwing? He needs the muscle power to move those meteors and send them flying into the air several times his own body length (and into those blue box things to open them). The sheer distance he sends them flying is notable since they are obviously not moving by rolling or something like that. Also saying that Knuckles pulling a boulder out of the ground in Sonic Battle is just a gamplay element and not canon is also admiting that Shadow's overturning large trucks is also a similar gameplay element, since it has only appeared once and has gone unmentioned since (compared to Knuckles being consistantly described by offical sources as having powerful strength). I remember an offical source describing Knuckles strength as being equal to Sonic's speed, I think it was Sega's Sonic Adventure 2 website (originally located here: http://www.sega.com/sega/game/sonic2_launch.jhtml#) but that site is dead and the Internet Archives didn't save the flash elements that it was made of, so I'm still looking. As for the overall 'strongest character', you are correct that until a decision is reached on Sonic City, anything on the site shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Cigraphix 02:40, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
The difference is he's punching them and not "throwing" them. There's a difference in the strength of a punch and the strength to lift objects times your own size. For example, take a simple boxing match, where one boxer's punch is lethal enough to take out a person or knock them out cold. The velocity of the thrown punch times his own natural strength adds more power to the punch leading to a hard blow to the body. Lifting strength requires your own natural strength. And yes, both instances of characters lifting objects larger than their own sizes has occured once in order for gameplay boundries to be set. Many of Cream's attacks in Sonic Battle has her chao performing elemental attacks (tornado spins) and this was only featured in Sonic Battle and nothing else. The same goes for Tails's Arm cannon appearing and disappearing on the fly and the springy boxing gloves. Not to mention sonic's ability to fling shockwaves. So no I don't count that game's credibility to natural character abilities (along with that game being made by THQ as well). Gameplay elements dont equal character abilities in terms of what they have in accordence to what technical system is set for them to require those abilities. Such as (like you said) shadow lifting buses. --Neofcon 21:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)We can't have different standards in the characters, so, if you feel that strongly about such gameplay elements, by all means take that arguement to Shadow's page and try to get his 'impressive strength' thing in his abilities section deleted. If Shadow can get his 'impressive strength' listed on a single gamplay element, then Knuckles should get his listed as well. Cigraphix 04:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Who the hell listed that?
In that case, we got a deal.--Neofcon 14:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I read somewhere that knuckles is as strong as Sonic is fast. If that's true then surely Knuckles strongest character in the series. 81.98.227.10 (talk) 16:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Knuckles is likely said to be the strongest because of counting his Super State. He was already stronger than Super Sonic anyways, so adding the Emeralds' power just seals the deal. Not only that, but now the official Sonic City website says so. Call it into question all you want, but Wiki does prefer official sites as a main source.GrandMasterGalvatron (talk) 12:42, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
If he was the strongest, then why he cant beat sonic, why do have to be so stupid Grandmastergalvatron. sonic and knuckles is even match. it doesnt matter about strenght or speed, face the facts dumbo —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.235.213.99 (talk) 20:38, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
The mighty don't always have the battle and the swift don't always have the race. There are plenty of reason why Sonic, even though he is the weaker of the two, always comes out on top. Your "facts" sound like biased opinions there, mate. Also, the name calling was totally unnecessary.GrandMasterGalvatron (talk) 01:27, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Knuckles2006.png
Image:Knuckles2006.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Knux's Ability to sense stuff....
...Could it be a reference to electroreception, an ability that monotremes(The sub-order that echidnas belong to) have that works similar to Knux's special sense? Let's not forget that it's not only used to sense chaos energy. He used it in Sonic Adventure 2 to sense the keys to the Death Chamber as well. (As for Rouge, bats use echo-location to find stuff). So, do you think this should be somewhere in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparx-1 (talk • contribs) 07:22, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Knuckles Super Tranformation
The following was moved here from the editors' talk pages:
- Why do you keep deleting transformation info of Knuckles? He turns or turned into Super Knuckles, period, no one can change that, besides Sega, and it apeared in several games, Sonic & Knuckles, Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, even if they are all connected. Also we must add that he also turns into Hyper Knuckles, so two transformations happenned, and only the second one happened once. Moste people forget that Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 & Knuckles are different, specially what concerns transformations. His transformation is also mentioned in Sonic Chronicles. If Sega wanted to wipe out Super Knuckles from existance then why don't they delete him from old games compilations? Because they exist. If we don't mention things because they don't appear again then we shoudn't mention Darkspine Sonic, Sonic the Werehog, or even characters that appeared only once like King Arthur or Black Doom or Erazor Djinn , Metal KNUCKLES etc... Super Knuckles (talk) 23:31, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- The information doesn't belong in the characteristics section of the Knuckles the Echidna page because it only appears once. Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 is only achieved thru lock on with Sonic & Knuckles so really only Sonic & Knuckles has the transformation (Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were even supposed to be one game). There is no argument being made that it didn't exist or whatever but Wikipedia is not a directory of everything that exists or has existed nor is it a crystal ball trying to predict the future. One offhand remark in a second game doesn't constitute another occurrence or guarantee that it will recur. However elements that aren't recurring can go into the article for the game in which they are important (a description of Super/Hyper Knuckles, Hyper Sonic and Super Tails could go into Sonic & Knuckles, Darkspine in Sonic and the Secret Rings, Werehog in Sonic Unleashed, King Arthur in Sonic and the Black Knight, etc). CIGraphix (talk) 17:06, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Expansion packs are only available if you have the original game, but that doesn't make expansions uncanon, and even if they were meant to be the same game, they are not, so we have to consider, as they are, different games. While Super Tails appeared only in one game (Sonic 3 & Knuckles), Super Knuckles appeared in three and two storylines (Sonic & Knuckles and Knuckles in Sonic 2). And the offhand remark means that he was referenced, and that he exists. Even if he doesn't appear anymore, he did, and is a characteristic of him. Super Knuckles (talk) 18:45, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

- A lot of good this was, I got 2 people to comment on WP:VG - 1 agreed with me the other bounced back and forth - and nobody else seemed to care. The 2 seemed to agree the Knuckles in Sonic 2 and 3 wasn't a recurrence since it had to be hooked up with S&K, but the editor who bounced back and forth wasn't too sure about the mention in Chronicles. So I guess a compromise is best: Hyper is out, its not a recurring element, rewrite the Super part to source it to what is written in Chronicles. I'm going to need help writing the Chronicles reference since I don't have the game. CIGraphix (talk) 13:27, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think we should describe how it enhances his abilities like that because there is no source for that (thus it is WP:OR). Not only are the enhancments themselves not recurring (just that fact that he can transform), we should stick to what sources say per WP:V. According to a GameFaqs transcript[1] the source says: "...but anyone who combines all seven of the Chaos Emeralds can command ultimate power. Many, including Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadow, and others, can even use the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds to transform into Super versions of themselves!" So just leave it to say it gives Knuckles "ultimate power", I'd like to use this source for Sonic & Shadow also if you would help with the ref. CIGraphix (talk) 03:30, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

- Fill in any blanks in the ref and check the source itself to confirm that everything conforms to it, I don't want to fill this info in using GameFaqs because then GameFaqs is the actual source and it isn't considered reliable - I'm specifically looking at "level" and "quote" - cite video game|title=Sonic Chronicles |developer=Bioware |publisher=Sega |date= |platform=Nintendo DS |version= |level=Codex |language= |isolang= |quote= CIGraphix (talk) 17:13, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Removed a line from the first section.
Someone had made a one-sentence paragraph declaring that Knuckles "is Sonic's screwing buddy." I am interpreting this as inappropriate. I've deleted it accordingly. Does Knuckles have some sort of screwdriver ability, or was it blatant vandalism? Either way it didn't belong there. --TheGhosty{子灵} 03:32, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Inclusion of Julie-su in infobox
The recent edit warring needs to stop; I'm opening this talkpage thread and notifying the two users involved so that it can be discussed. No prejudice on my part towards either version.
