The 2012 World Series will be the 108th edition of Major League Baseball 's championship series . The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the champions of the National League and the American League .
As has been standard since 2003 , home field advantage for the series will be decided on July 10 at the All-Star Game to be held in Kansas City, Missouri . The games will be televised in the USA on Fox .
