Shortcuts

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Windows 9

The Windows 9 page was deleted because it was serving as a redirect that many thought confusing to many people. However, not only has there been a plethora of news articles and such concerning this topic, but Windows 9 is also set to be demoed tomorrow by Microsoft as a Technical preview. As such, this page could validly serve the Wikimedia community, not as a redirect, but as a full-fledged article detailing the deluge of information and news that will be coming over the next several weeks. Plus, it's bound to be confusing to type Windows 9 as an article search in to Wikipedia and not find it, considering that this has been kind of a hot topic on the Internet for several weeks now. -173.21.51.97 (talk) 15:35, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done. The redirect was deleted as a consequence of Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 May 11#Windows 9. We don't restore pages by request if they were deleted as a result of discussions.
However, feel free to write an article about Windows 9. The entire deleted contribution history of that page was never more than a few hundred bytes long, when it was a disambiguation page 2 years ago.

Great. Thanks for the info; I don't have time right now to create a new article from scratch, but maybe if I make a stub, people will see the topic is open again, and it can start anew. Also, since the article was recreated once and deleted again as it had been proposed for deletion, maybe there should be a note of some kind that says there is permission from an admin to start the article again? You can always flesh out a draft article (just create Draft:Windows 9, or if you don't have an account, use Wikipedia:Articles for creation) and it won't be deleted. It's the main space articles that get closer scrutiny. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:50, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done Gladys1555 The page hasn't been deleted yet and since this is a speedy deletion, the best place to argue against this would be on the article's talk page. There are some other issues with the page- it's also tagged with an WP:A7, meaning that there is a concern over Barcella's notability. You can address this by providing coverage in reliable sources such as links to news stories about her and so on. I notice that you have said that she has been on various shows, but we need to see proof of this to show what type of appearances these are and how in-depth they were. Was she only briefly shown in a 1 second flicker over her artwork? Was she shown in-depth? I also note that the article is still written in a fairly casual tone, as if it was a fan page or was taken from her personal website. I don't know that it's still overly promotional in the "buy her stuff now, she's awesome" way, but the overly casual tone can negatively impact a page and still come across as a little promotional.  Not done because we don't restore articles deleted in accordance with WP:CSD#A7 by request on this page. @Coin945: If the game is notable (and I agree the Metacritic reviews constitute a decent argument for notability) then you have a good case to present to the deleting administrator RHaworth. The deleting admin should always be your first step. Draft:Years & Years

The article was deleted for copyright infringement, when I in fact wrote the description on last.fm (it made sense to use the bio i'd written for Wikipedia). I think the problem therefore is that last.fm went live before the article was reviewed on Wikipedia. I am the author of the last.fm bio, meaning there is no copyright infringement.  Not done @Jamellis: This was requested before, above, and the request was declined. There is no way copyrighted material can be restored unless the Wikimedia Foundation knows that the content is released under an acceptable free license. Yes, it was a copyright violation because it duplicated content from another website, and we can't rely on the word of some random user account claiming they own the copyright and therefore need no permission to reproduce the content here.
If you wrote it originally, you can write it again in different words.
Or, you can post a notice on the last.fm page that the content is public domain, or releasable under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:25, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajecr: Please do not add more requests to the bottom of the page. Making more requests is unnecessary and you only need to ask once. If you want to draw more attention to your request, you can always ping one of the administrators that has previously responded to the request by writing {{ping|username}}. Also, I note that your username change has been rejected because it was already taken, so you will need to choose a new one. NTH Ring

Deleted because of "Not of any relevance.". Strongly object to that reason. Here is a description from Civil engineer "A Scandinavian "civilingenjör" will in international contexts commonly call herself "Master of Science in Engineering" and will occasionally wear an engineering class ring. I contacted the closer of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of scouting troops and service units for this, but they are involved in a lot elsewhere i think and i am not sure they are an administrator or not anyhow. This is a logo of a significant organisation. I did not notice until today that the file was orphaned and completely deleted. Freefall (webcomic)

One of the longest-running webcomics on the Internet, Freefall, has been deleted from Wikipedia twice over the years due to lack of notability. I'm placing this back into contention for undeletion one more time, using this as my justification:

"If you are not a fan of Freefall you ought to be. Alas, it really will involve some time because it is a serial story, and the current panels are shocking — that is, they have a total surprise that I do not think many readers saw coming...The story is well developed and very logically constructed. @Modemac: For articles deleted via AFD, your first step toward restoration should always be to contact the administrator who closed the AFD and deleted the article, in this case Stifle. You may have a decent argument above to suggest that new information now justifies inclusion of the topic in Wikipedia. email that article was being deleted went into Spam folder, had assumed the article was still being reviewed -- evidence of my niaivity of the review process. I don't think I actually submit it, as I had previously thought. Sarah J Price

is a Welsh Playwright, film maker TV, Film and West End actor, reality star, musician, sports journalist, comedy writer and stand up performer, (Edinburgh festival, NYC Comedy club) and regular international radio and TV guest. the page was originally merged with two other Sarah Price's in an act of vandalism, the swimmer was separated, but the two 'film' Sarah Price's remained as one, my attempt to get the page back up and running on its own was removed, the main reason given for its deletion being "I found lots of Sarah Prices, but not this one" the problem being because of Ms Price's varied career a fair few of the 'lots of Sarah Price's' were indeed her, she has also worked under several stage names since she began her career in early childhood. her recent output as an actor I feel merits the page to be reinstated and updated. -Jasperxj (talk) 04:00, 4 October 2014 (UTC) Jasperxj (talk)[reply]

  • This ran through AfD and since you're saying that there were other sources and that she was merged with other Prices as an act of vandalism, this really should run through WP:DR. However, I do note that your username is a COI since it kind of insinuates that you are editing on behalf of an organization (Phinbella Micronation Television) so I am going to block that account name. You will have to either create a new account that represents you as a person or request an unblock with a new username. Also, since there is potential that this station is a hoax, you will need to show evidence that this TV service exists as well as to show notability. Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. "Permission for Wikipedia to use it" is not sufficient. You must either declare that the photo is in the public domain, or release it under an allowable free license. If you want it in the public domain, say so and I can restore it with that information. If you want to release it irrevocably under a free license like CC-by-SA or GFDL, you must send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org using WP:CONSENT as a template. 2011 in Australian literature

I request the undeletion of this Wikipedia page deleted under CSD G13.

As a result of the deletion discussion, this page was merged into 2011 in literature in January 2014. As the creator of the pages 2003 in Australian literature...2010 in Australian literature I have now created a new version of the page that matches the level of information contained in the earlier pages.   • @HatchCloud: The article has multiple issues. The article doesn't really show how she merits an article, but most importantly the article was written in a very promotional manner, which is likely because it would be considered WP:COPYVIO from this site. Please understand that we cannot accept material that has been published elsewhere, regardless of whether or not it is in another language. Since the article was so closely paraphrased from the French source, there's not much we could give you from the English translation that isn't already in the French article and you'd still have to re-write the piece as a whole in order to meet our neutrality and copyright guidelines, so I'm not sure how much help that would be.   • Done. I've restored the article and replaced the deletion tag. What it basically means is that an article on a living person has to have at least one reliable independent source or it will be deleted. Right now adding such a source is more important than updating the profile for newer films. Once a source has been added you may remove the tag yourself or ask someone else to do it (asking in this thread will work fine or you can leave a message on my talk page). I've also toned down some of the wording, as the old revisions were much too promotional for Wikipedia. We want to clearly and neutrally summarize the verifiable facts about a subject. I'm not sure the reason stated for deletion of this page is accurate or fair. The reason stated was "unambiguous advertising," and "and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic," but I don't think I was promoting anything, I just wanted to document the series and have a list of the guests all in one place. I copied the format almost exactly from The Nerdist Podcast page (The Nerdist Podcast), and I can't see any major difference in what I posted and how that is set up. American Fashion Podcast exists, it's has 20 episodes and adds more weekly, and it has three hosts...   • We don't restore A7 articles, but this article also had issues with promotion as well and could have been deleted under WP:G11. I'll be honest: it's very, very unlikely that this will ever be restored as it was originally written. What also doesn't help is that it doesn't seem like you've ever held an actual pageant so far. The existence of a company, organization, or event does not automatically mean that it passes notability guidelines as existence is not notability. I would suggest that you wait until the event is held and gains substantial coverage in independent and reliable sources.
