You may wish to comment

I have listed you as the updater for the 2014 Iguala mass kidnapping at In The News. You may wish to comment there. μηδείς (talk) 17:45, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you very much, μηδείς. I was only planning to nominate the article if the students were found (alive or dead), but seeing how the international press has picked up the story, I think it is a good idea to do it now too. Do you think the article can be nominated again if the status of the students is confirmed? ComputerJA () 18:09, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Some crimes are never nominated, and some only after conviction and sentencing. Given that the pair were fugitives and the nature of the crime I think now is the best chance at posting. If bodies are identified soon then we would just update the blurb. If they are identified in two weeks a second nomination would be unlikely. There is no policy, it depends on news coverage and the mood of he desk. If the bodies are found years from now then another nomination might work. You might compare the nomination history of Oscar Pistorius who was only listed after he was convicted. But he was not a fugitive, and many Mexican fugitives have been posted before. μηδείς (talk) 18:20, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ayotzinapa

Saludos. The Fight to Save Juárez

Thanks for helping the article!

Are you interested in starting a Spanish version of The Fight to Save Juárez? I have written articles on Latin America-related books, and they have been translated into Spanish by other Wikipedians: The Japanese in Latin America and New Worlds, New Lives.

Also, are you interested in expanding Spanish-language articles about Texas politics such as es:Departamento de Justicia Criminal de Texas? (from Texas Department of Criminal Justice), or creating new ones about Texas culture such as Paño? WhisperToMe (talk) 04:56, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • @WhisperToMe: Thank you for creating the article! I haven't read the book myself but I have free access to it at my school's library catalog. Hopefully I can read it once I finish the ones I checked out for the winter break already. :-)
In all honesty, I'll have to decline your request for now. I am not very active on Spanish Wikipedia because I've grown in disappointment with other editors there. I've encountered many differences with some of them, especially regarding citations (not to mention the fact that some have accused me of working for the government and being a deletionist—when, in fact, I delete information after I research it and see that there are no sources backing what it states). Anyhow, when I get a hold of the book and finish it, I'll consider expanding the article and creating one in Spanish too. It's on my Watchlist for now on, though. Thanks for stopping by, happy holidays! ComputerJA () 17:53, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico
Thank you for quality articles on the Mexican drug war, such as María Santos Gorrostieta Salazar and Manuel Buendía, "vital to inform the English-language world", for reviewing and fighting unsourced trivia, for an informative user page, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Edit Request for Angelica Fuentes Wikipedia Page

Hi, I saw you had an interest in all things related to Mexico, and wanted to see if you could look over an edit request I've put on the Angelica Fuentes English Wikipedia page. It's an extensive edit, but includes information about her influence in Mexico and regional and global philanthropy. Hope you can consider it. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cvillasmil (talkcontribs) 18:58, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

vandalising the Mexican Drug War

Hi, i've been noticing some users vandalising the main article of the Mexican Drug War (since the first days february).

I think you might like to give it a look.

Also, congrats for the great work on the Mexico related articles.

  • Hey, thanks for visiting my talkpage. I saw the history log of the article. I think you're right about the neutrality box; you guys should settle your differences on the talkpage and see what can be done. I've been pretty lazy with the Mexican Drug War article, so thank you for keeping an eye on it. I'll be around and supervising the discussion if you guys are down for it. Thanks, ComputerJA () 19:30, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

re Mexican Drug

I have absolutely no special interest in the Mexican Drug War and simply stumbled upon it by accident. But the edits in question are clear in violation or WP:OR. Your assertion that he provided sources is irrelevant. From WP:OR: This includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources. To demonstrate that you are not adding OR, you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material being presented. (This policy of no original research does not apply to talk pages.)

CJK (talk) 20:24, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I see bias in your edit, (and many other articles you edit), i think you are doing it more in a pro-American stand, than in an attempt to improve wikipedia's reliability.
  • I´m adding Controversial facts under the controversy section.

No one "implies a conclusion". The information is relevant, it points to reliable sources and news articles, please read the references.

  • Also read this articles (and its references):

CIA drug trafficking

Gulf Cartel#Corruption_in_the_United_States

Guadalajara Cartel#Collaboration_with_the_CIA_and_DFS

ATF gunwalking scandal

You seem not to have looked closely at my edits, I have been quite critical of certain aspects my country's actions in articles related to both World War II and the American Revolution. The problem is that your assertion The direct or indirect support of Mexican and U.S. officials to Drug Cartels is relevant is purely original research on your part and most of your source actually predate the war! WP:OR clearly states that users cannot use facts A or B to support conclusion C. You would need a reliable source related to the war in question that explicitly states that U.S. is deliberately supporting the drug cartels in question.
