Miss Universe 2015 will be held at January, 2016 and venue to be announced. Paulina Vega, Miss Universe 2014 of Colombia, will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Transmission and execution of the event are still uncertain, after the NBC, Univision and other sponsors, break trade relations with Donald Trump following statements against Mexican immigrants in the United States; and that the event and its organization, were acquired by the entertainment company WME/IMG .

History

After the Miss Universe 2014 pageant, some media started to speculate and disseminate information about the next contest. According to uncertified interviews, Paulina Vega, Miss Universe 2014, claimed that the contest would be held in Beijing in November 2015.[1] Weeks later, Colombian media reported advanced negotiations about bringing the contest to Bogota in January 2016;[2] However, Bogota withdrew its application to host the competition.[3]

Selling the Miss Universe Organization

September 14, 2015, the Miss Universe Organization was sold to the entertainment company WME/IMG - owned by Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell - after Donald Trump bought the NBC Meanwhile shares of the company.

  •  Paraguay - Laura Garcete (Paraguay) was designated by Promociones Gloria, Paraguayan national franchise, to represent the country on this edition.
  •  Singapore - Lisa White (Singapore) was chosen to represent her country after a casting supervised by the national director, Osman Nuraliza (Miss Singapore Universe 2002).
