The Moto G4 (often stylized as Moto G4) is an Android smartphone developed by Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo. Announced as the successor to the third-generation Moto G, it was released in Brazil and India on May 17, 2016, followed by the United States on June 28, 2016 with introduction to other markets later.[1] The phones will receive Android security patches, but not on a monthly basis.[2]
On February 28, 2017, Lenovo announced its successor, the Moto G5 with a better CPU, more RAM, and more storage.[3]
Specifications
The Moto G4's hardware design was refreshed, featuring a "water repellent nano-coating", and a camera protrusion. However, unlike the Moto G3, the previous generation, the Moto G4 Plus does not feature IPX7 certification.[4] The device is available in black and white-color versions, with different rear cover and accent colors available for custom order via MotoMaker. The G4 includes a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 system-on-chip, and 2/3 GB of RAM. The Moto G4 includes either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated memory storage slot to expanded memory up to 128 GB via MicroSDXC. The device also comes with Moto Actions which supports and responds to motions and gestures. It has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and an FM radio receiver.[5] The Moto G4 also supports 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. The device ships with Android 6.0.1 "Marshmallow". [6] It features 'Turbopower' charging that gives up to six hours of battery life after just 15 minutes of charging.[7] On December 29, 2016 Moto G4 users in India reported that their devices had begun receiving an OTA update to Android 7.0 "Nougat". News sites were later able to confirm that this was indeed a rollout, and not a soak test.[8]
Models
The Moto G4 is available in a standard model, the Moto G4 Play, and the Moto G4 Plus. The Play is a lower-end model with a lower-end camera and a lower screen resolution.[9] The base Moto G4 is a standard, sitting between the Play and the Plus. The Plus is a premium model of fourth generation Moto G which has a fingerprint sensor on the front. It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with infrared phase-detection autofocus, up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage.[1][6]
Moto G5 Plus
The Moto G5 Plus to be available online from the 15th March, 2017 is a highly anticipated mobile phone as the Moto G series are passionately popular mobile phones for their specifications and their extremely reasonable pricing. The Moto G5 Plus price is expected to be wal less for its specifications.Prior to the Moto G5 plus, which is about to foray into the market, Moto G4 was welcomed and it totally rocked the smart phone market. The simple reason was that it took over its counterparts that were released as budget phones back then with its striking features like 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with a 2GB RAM, a 16MP camera on the rear and a 5MP front camera for selfies and much more. With all these basic features and a reasonable price, why would one not go for a Moto mobile. This model launched on 15 March 2017 Cite error: The <ref>

Prime Exclusive edition
Online retailer Amazon.com also offers a Prime Exclusive edition of the G4 (both the 16 GB and 32 GB models) for Amazon Prime members. This version is approximately $50 cheaper than its regular counterpart, and features Amazon advertisements on the lockscreen. All other features are identical.[10]
