Télévision à la carte japonaise

I saw some multichannel television providers in Japan (including Sky PerfecTV) offer all of television channels on their platform on a la carte basis. Neuraxis - Truth beyond (metal album)

After asking on justabout every helppage on Wiki, I was directed here. My question is: I'm holding a not for sale promo version of the album mentioned above. On MORBID RECORDS, not on Neoblast or Galy Records. Has there ever been a official release on Morbid Records? The Data I can provide:

  • MR: 099
  • 085-09352
  • Release date: March 17th, 2003

Oxygene7-13 (talk) 17:44, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's listed (34th entry) as a CD and Album on this page, which was found via a couple of minutes googling and searching (the page is configurable, so it may display a different order to you). I'm not sufficiently au fait with the minutiae of record collecting to know if this is the precise item you're looking for. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.123.27.125 (talk) 17:24, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for answering. I'm limited by a whitelist so right now I can't go to Discogs right now... Asking myself if that's also the promo or an orig. release... Oxygene7-13 (talk) 17:32, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The full entry appears as "[Album cover thumbnail] - Neuraxis - Truth Beyond... - (CD, Album) - CDM 0703-1428 - 2003": looks to me like a full release.
The band name hyperlinks to an entry for the band's discography listing 13 items, and the entry for Truth Beyond... drops down a list of 4 versions as follows:
Truth Beyond... (CD, Album) Galy Records GALY-005 2002
Truth Beyond... (CD, Album) Morbid Records (2) MR099 2003
Truth Beyond... (CD, Album, Promo) Morbid Records (2) MR 099 2003
Truth Beyond... (CD, Album) CD-Maximum CDM 0703-1428 2003.
Each of those 4 listed Album titles also hyperlinks to a page of details about that particular version. The first of the 2 Morbid Record entries (CD, Album) includes the 17 Mar 2003 release date and the data:

Hope this helps. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.123.27.125 (talk) 18:33, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It does. Now that I know it has been officially released through Morbid, I can add it on its article. The only thing I knew about it was that promo I have and as a collector I know that does not have to mean that they released it at all. Thank you so much for the effort. Oxygene7-13 (talk) 18:41, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I also asked to get an idea about how rare the promo is I have. I'm a fanatic music-collector and it is always nice to have something unique. The promo still is but it would have been rarer if Morbid had never released it. Again, thank you all. Oxygene7-13 (talk) 18:48, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Vehicle combat game for the original PlayStation that takes place in San Francisco

I remember back in the early 2000s, I played some kind of driving game on the original PlayStation. I only played it for a few days as the game belonged to a family friend and the disc was returned after a short while, so I don't remember many details about the game anymore. What I do remember is that some or all of the game takes place in San Francisco (I remember since one of the missions had the dialogue "San Francisco is a city in turmoil"), it was not a racing game but rather a driving game, it had combat elements (or at least you were trying to avoid obstacles and attacks), it had missions, and if my memory is correct, the main car used was either gray or black. And before anyone asks, it was neither those San Francisco racing games nor was it Driver. I also checked every game on List of driving and racing video games that had a PS1 version listed, but none of the games seemed to fit. Can someone help out here? It's something that's bothered me for more than 16 years now. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:13, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone find an obit

The Margie Hines (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) article has had some back and forth over a date for her death. IMDb and Behind the Voices are WP:USERGENERATED and I've been unable to find an obit in my web searching. I'm hoping that regulars of this R/D can do better than I have done. MarnetteD|Talk 20:33, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not finding it in Newspapers.com, although it's not comprehensive. Not on Findagrave either, ditto. What are the various possible death dates or years that you've run across so far? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots13:32, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking Baseball Bugs. The one that both sites that I mentioned have is February 4, 2011. MarnetteD|Talk 15:59, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not finding much on Ancestry.com, either. For what it's worth, their marriage license application dated March 3, 1939, states Jack Mercer's age as 26 and hers as 24. That yields more recent birth years than 1910 and 1909 respectively. Maybe they fibbed about their ages. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots17:21, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again for your research Baseball Bugs. I find it a little odd that no one noted the passing of someone whose voice was such a part of the cartoons that I grew up watching. Ah well when life starts making some kind of sense that will be a pleasant change :-) MarnetteD|Talk 19:08, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't rule out that she remarried and when she died only that married name was given. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:10, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Since there doesn't seem to be a Margaret Hines anywhere i think the logical conclusion here is she probably did remarry as what another user suggested so tracking her possible married name down is gonna be trickier as it could be literally anything. --ThatBaileyLad (talk) 01:41, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In any case, rather than maintaining the almost certain fiction that this woman is still among the living, at age 110 or so, it would be best to post the death date(s) you have and add a question mark after it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots07:18, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at [1] it is stated in the comments that she was older than Jack Mercer and altered her age on her marriage application. So she was born prior to Jack, and Jack was two months old at the time of the 1910 census. This ties in with the officially recorded date of birth, 1 October 1909. As regards her date of death, I don't think anything can be made of the fact that IMDb gives her age on 4 February 2011 as 102 - I think that was done mechanically by subtracting 1909 from 2011. I'm not sure why the original obituary is being claimed to be a hoax - Margaret Hines was a New York lass and there can't be many people called Margaret Louise Hines who died in New York State between January and September 2011 at the age of 101. 2A00:23C5:840F:1F01:51C3:5024:D4D0:25B0 (talk) 18:42, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well chances are she probably did die in 2011 but we really need more concrete evidence here. Is it possible to check a Public Record's office in New York City since or the town she was born in cause chance's are they're maybe record's of her there. --ThatBaileyLad (talk) 20:00, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is it legal to publicly distribute and advertise a parody of Go, Cubs, Go? Not sure if there are copyright issues or if some entity owns the song. 147.126.10.152 (talk) 05:31, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

UK athletes - how are they assigned?

In many sporting competitions (football perhaps being the most prominent), the four constituent parts of the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) have seperate national teams.

My question is: given that there's no such thing as "Scottish citizenship" or "Welsh citizenship", how is eligibility decided, about who is eligible for which of the four teams? On what basis can a given athlete be deemed "English", as opposed to "Welsh" or "Scottish" (or vice versa)? Eliyohub (talk) 08:35, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As for football, FIFA_eligibility_rules#Home_nations_agreement should be exhaustive (and exhausting). --Wrongfilter (talk) 08:48, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, much appreciated. What about the Commonwealth games, Rugby League, or Rugby Union? Eliyohub (talk) 09:29, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kim Esty is not Canadian

Hello Why does Wikipedia list Kim Esty as being Canadian, despite her British accent, and other sites listing her as being form Lymington? She live si nToronto but judging by her British accent, she was not born there. I wish I could cite my source in the article but due to the captchas I cannot right now. thanks.199.101.61.34 (talk) 01:07, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

She was born in Toronto according to this website among others. You should be aware that people can have all manner of accents that aren't necessarily an indicator of where they were born. MarnetteD|Talk 01:57, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And if she was born in Canada, she is very likely a Canadian citizen. For more detail as to the "very likely" part, see Jus soli#Unrestricted jus soli and Renunciation of citizenship#Renunciation law in specific countries. --76.69.46.228 (talk) 08:50, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Discogs lists her as beng from Lymington and moving to Toronto, which better explains her British accent. I know many people from Toronto and they speak whith hard R sounds, not Uh sounds, and they pronounce T's in lots of words like Ds. Kim Esty's accent is extremely similar to that of the singer Birdy who is also from the same area. I've never heard of a Canadian that speaks with a notable British accent. It's not just her singing it's her speaking voice too. also there's no such thing as a Canadian eurodance singer because Eurodance means European dance both in English and Arabic. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 09:39, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Discogs is a user generated site (like Wikipedia) and thus not a reliable source. Do you have any reliable source that says she is British? Because I cannot find any but I can find multiple sources that list her as Canadian, including a 1998 issue of Billboard. Regards SoWhy 10:15, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you Americans define as reliable. I'm going by her accent, not by her place of residence. There's no such thing as a Canadian with a British accent nor is ther esuch a thing as a Canadian eurodance singer. I never said discogs is reliable I said it better explains her accent. There are no Canadian-born people with British accents if they grew up in Canada, North America. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 12:45, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You might be surprised but "There's no such thing as a Canadian with a British accent" is a claim we cannot just accept because someone on the Internet said so. In fact, Canadian dainty is similar to British ([2]) and there are plenty of possible reasons why a Canadian might speak with a British accent, such as being born in Canada but growing up in the UK. Point is, unless we can verify that she is British, we will go with the sources that confirm her Canadian nationality. As for "reliable", the page I linked to does explain what we refer to as reliable and what not but it's not "you Americans" specific (I'm German for example). Regards SoWhy 13:30, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The archived website in the references says she was born in Toronto to parents of German and Austrian descent. It also thanks her for providing that information. 2A00:23C5:2208:4600:BD64:EF37:E6A1:AE92 (talk) 15:16, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't the article of Vinny Appice mention the Solo-album Sinister?

I'm holding the album mentioned above in my hands right now. Did no-one bother to add it or are there reasons I just don't know..? If there will be no response, I will add it myself. Oxygene7-13 (talk) 15:48, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
