Where has it been used first? Who introduced it? Or where could I find information on this?

Spellings

I have added a new sections Spellings and removed a never ending list of wiki links from the introduction. I have also changed article and used only the most common spelling (same as article name). Only exception is where a specific spellings are discussed. These changes are based on my research on search results and usage of the different spellings on the web. Since there is no verifiable data that lists the different spellings of the name and number of people using it we can consider Google as an evidence for the moment. Feel free to contribute...

Exactly! We need to look past the muddle of transliteration, to any variations in Indic scripts, but in doing so, also looking past details of how the same original sound came to be represented differently in Devanagari vs. Bengali vs. Gujarati vs. Panjabi, even vs. Urdu, etc. etc. LADave (talk) 11:25, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Choudary

Besides the fact that Chowdhury already deals with all sorts of variations of this name (and Choudary also has one listing that isn't a "Choudary"), this page is tagged as a disambiguation page but it's actually being treated as a anthroponymy page, since the three people listed here aren't known solely by the name "Choudary". Saber Hossain Chowdhury,Bangladeshi, Former President of IPU (Inter-parliamentary Union); Chowdhury was the 28th President of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). He was elected to the position on 16 October 2014 for a term of 3 years. Chowdhury is the incumbent member of Jatiya Sangsad from Dhaka-9.[6] He served as Deputy Minister of Ministry of Ports & Shipping and, later, as Deputy Minister for Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives (1999-2001). He was the youngest Member of the Cabinet during this period. At Political Party Level Chowdhury was appointed in October 2001 as Political Secretary to President of Bangladesh Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, who was then the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament. Shortly thereafter, he was elected Organizing Secretary (1) of the Party with responsibility for Dhaka Division.

I wish to edit the page "Chowdhury" to provide a deeper understanding of the term, its provenance, western equivalence, documented history, and importance during the British Raj.

This will include references from The Rajas of the Punjab by Lepel H. Griffin/The History of the Patiala State, which describes the Chaudhry/Chaudhari of the Punjab. I would also like to provide further context of the Zamindar system and its roles during the Mughal Empire, and the British Raj as per the works of S.Nural Hasan's The Position of the Zamindars in the Mughal Empire and its relation to Chowdhury influence.
