Script

Per your request, I have coded a script that does what you asked, though it may be a slight overkill. Best, —Animum (talk) 02:12, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 15:55, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Having fun with it, eh? :-PAnimum (talk) 18:39, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How would you have guessed? :P --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 20:28, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Logo? [The sequel]

Hello there!

I guess there's no way to introduce this comment other than... could you please, pretty, pretty please make a logo for me? With sprinkles and a cherry on top? Yours is awesome, and so is User:LaraLove's. I'm thinking of re-designing my userpage with a salmon color-theme, so I would rather the logo be of that color, or Indian Red.

Thanks muchly,

LaPianista! 04:31, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again!
My apologies if I am intruding on your day; you seem to be busy. But could you please make the logo match with my new signature? The old one was a little too problematic. --LaPianista! «talk» 20:39, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This page looks best in...

Well, not really. Did you ever consider how your userpage looks like under a different skin? I regret to inform you that under modern (which is very popular and I happen to be using it) your floating tricks don't only look ugly but also make the site unusable (no action tabs, no way to leave you a message without digging through the header to find a direct link). I sincerely hope you can do something about it (also, so that this viral userpage design doesn't spread further - I've seen it on several occasions now). Regards, Миша13 11:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have created separate userpages for people using the modern skin. Cheers, --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 06:49, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Request

Chetblong, I am requesting your help to make a logo for WikiProject Washington, whcih I will use on the project page and the Washington portal. I would like it similar to Image:Arkansas Wikiproject.png, only using the flag of Washington and an outline of Washington. I request that the image be located at this link. Thank you and have a good day, --CG was here. (T - C - S - E) 18:25, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing I'll get right on it! --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 20:27, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --CG was here. (T - C - S - E) 20:36, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I created it, tell me what you think!
Here is the image.
--Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 21:52, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! It looks very wonderful! --CG was here. (T - C - S - E) 21:55, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 22:01, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

Hi Chet nice to meet you! Hey Is it o.k if I take some pictures of like Heber Springs and Grerrs Ferry Lake? I got what in my mind is a good picture of clinton today while going threw there let me know and thanks. DH Michaels (talk) 22:38, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great! The more people taking pictures for this project, the better. Tell me when you get them on Wikimedia Commons. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 22:42, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also I could get picturesof the Little Rock area. and ummm well what are some pages that need article's? DH Michaels (talk) 22:48, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All of the articles here need a picture, so if you are near any of those places it would be nice if you could get a picture. As for articles, these "stubs" need to be expanded, so see if you can expand any of them, but be sure to cite anything that you add with reliable sources. Also look through all of those links that I gave you so you can understand our policies a bit more without messing up, when I first started editing here my edits got reverted all of the time, so if you don't want that to happen to you then read the policies. If you need any help or have any questions relating to editing Wikipedia, just ask me here on my talk page. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 22:57, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Man! O hey before I go one last question, On talk pages should I reply on the other users talk page or my own? DH Michaels (talk) 23:03, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It depends on what the other person says their rules are, like at the top of my page I say that I will reply to message given to me here, and place {{Talkback}} on their talkpage, and if I messaged you, you should reply there and give me the {{Talkback}} template. So really it doesn't matter. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 23:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey quick question if I see red links do I need to remove them? DH Michaels (talk) 14:32, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not really, instead create the articles that are redlinked! :P --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 01:30, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i need your help

Hi Chetblong. My name is Soccer5525, and I need some of your help. I saw that at the top of your userpage and talk page, it displays that banner that says your username and it's reflection. I as well would like to add that to my page, but with my user signature, Is there a way you could help me? Thanks. --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 17:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! It will be a while though as I am busy in real life and on wiki, but I'll do it as soon as I can. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 07:05, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Really? You will? Thanks! I don't mind if it takes a while, since I'm going on vacation soon, and won't be on Wikipedia anyway. So just take you time! Thanks, and happy editing! --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 15:10, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

stroke out a warning you gave

It appears that a temporal hiccup of the servers has caused several good faith edits to accidentally blank the page (they had already been failing for a few hours). I stroke out this warning as it was clearly one of those cases[1]. Cheers --Enric Naval (talk) 05:26, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 05:49, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Intergrated banner for WikiProject Computer networking

I have made a proposal for a intergrated banner for the project here . I invite you for your valuable comments in the discussion. You are receiving this note since I thought that you might be interested.. Thanks -- Tinu Cherian - 11:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC) I have made a proposal for a integrated banner for the WikiProject Computer science  : here -- Tinu Cherian - 02:14, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi dude, you once commented "However I think that a mass merge between WikiProject Computer Science and WikiProject Computing would be a good idea, because as of right now there is no clear line separating the two projects." but you opposed the use of integrated banner for WP:COMP Sc.. I fail to understand... -- Tinu Cherian - 02:50, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well you see, I do want the 2 projects to merge. But to me integrating the banners is useless. --Chet B. LongTalk/ARK 03:14, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you feel that WP:Computer Science will ever allow it to be merged to WP:COMP, considering the opposition in even a integrated project banner..? My idea is if you cant merge, then why not atleast collaborate and work together...for the betterment of Wikipedia...I have explained other advantages of use of integrated banner in the project talk page -- Tinu Cherian - 03:20, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to explain further regarding reasons and advantages.Kindly have a look -- Tinu Cherian - 12:11, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to everyone who participated in my RfA, regardless of their !vote. I have withdrawn the nomination as a failure at 19 supports, 45 opposes, and 9 neutral statements.

As has been written and sung, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need — and what I need is to go back to working on our shared project. Not everyone has to be an admin; there is a role for each of us. After reflection, I feel I don't have the temperament to secure community consensus as an admin at any point, and I will not be applying again in the future — and hey, that's all right, 'cause I stay true to the philosophy that adminship is no big deal: I tried, I failed, and now I'll return to doing what I've always done. I have an extremely strong belief in the consensus process, and the consensus was clear. I will be devoting my energies to volunteering at MedCab and working up a complete series of articles on the short stories of Ernest Hemingway, among lord knows what else. Thanks again to everyone who spared the time to weigh in on this one. It was made in better faith than it probably seemed.
Mr. IP Defender of Open Editing 14:25, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for weighing in at my RfA. Personally, I don't think I would abuse the tools, but I can see why you wouldn't be so sure. Besides, it's hard to tell what kind of admin you would be beforehand. At any rate, I intend to contribute in other ways and forget about applying for a role I'm not necessarily suited for. Be seeing ya 'round! Mr. IP Defender of Open Editing 14:25, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Banning (mine)

Hello. I see you have acted as uninvolved admin and placed a ban on me from editing Prem Rawat-related articles for one week for incivility. Were you aware that I had not been informed of this complaint against me, nor that an Arbitration Enforcement case had been commenced? I was never (deliberately, I feel) given a chance to present my side of the case, and show the kind of editing behaviour that resulted in my peevish responses. Rumiton (talk) 15:03, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lunenburg article

Hi.... I worked very hard on this article, and you deleted it. I am from Izard County Ar, and yes, most of our info is from our old history books. Folks have somehow deleted all my sources over the past few years. It's a shame that strangers just come in and delete stuff that others have worked so hard on. QuietPrincess (talk) 19:47, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: logo and blog page

Geez, thanks Chet! Without you telling me that I can't have a blog, I wouldn't gotten in serious trouble. It's good to know that now. But I'm kind of disappointed though. I was really looking forward to doing it. And thanks for offering that website, but I can't join it. It says you need an e-mail address, and I don't have one, yet. Besides, that'd be to much to handle. I'm looking forward to the logo too! Mind me asking who you gave the job to? --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 01:36, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Milk's Favorite Cookie? Huh, that's funny. When I asked the user,User: Julian Colton, she referred me to Milk's Favorite Cookie, but he/she never replied. Hmm.
