Bhanga (Bengali: ভাঙ্গা) is an upazila of Faridpur District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1]

Geography

Bhanga is located at 23°23′00″N 89°59′00″E / 23.3833°N 89.9833°E / 23.3833; 89.9833. It has 41462 households and total area 216.34 km2.

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Bhanga has a population of 214702. Males constitute 50.23% of the population, and females 49.77%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 105762. Administration

Bhanga Upazila is divided into Bhanga Municipality and 12 union parishads: Algi, Azimnagor, Chandra, Chumurdi, Gharua, Hamirdi, Kalamridha, Kawlibera, Manikdha, Nasirabad, Nurullagonj, and Tujerpur. The union parishads are subdivided into 136 mauzas and 206 villages.[3]

Bhanga Municipality is subdivided into 9 wards and 26 mahallas.[3]
