Anurag Kulkarni is an Indian playback singer from Hyderabad,[1] who recently[when?] made his debut in Tollywood. He hails from Basar,Niramal,Telangana but settled in Hyderabad. His father is from Marathi community and mother is from a Telugu family from Kamareddy .He got into fame after winning first prize in popular Telugu reality singing show, Idea Super Singer Season 8 (2015) on MAA TV (now Star Maa).

Career

Kulkarni started learning Hindustani classical music with late Sri. Kakunoori jangaiah ji, a renowned Hindustani vocalist and guru in Hyderabad. He was trained in kirana gharana style of singing.

On 24 January 2015, he won one of the biggest[clarification needed]telugu reality singing shows, Idea Super Singer Season 8. The chief judges for this show were shri M. M. Keeravani and Padma Shri K. S. Chitra.[2] The show also featured many Telugu/Tollywood musicians as guest judges.

After completing B.Tech in Computer Science, Hyderabad, he worked for a software multinational company for seven months. He left the job in October 2015 to pursue his interest in music.[citation needed]

Currently[when?] he is a playback singer in Tollywood and Telugu Music Industry.
