Armenia–Uruguay relations are foreign relations between Armenia and Uruguay.
Overview
Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
Armenia has a concurrent ambassador in Buenos Aires, Argentina[1] and an honorary consul in Montevideo.[2] Uruguay has a concurrent ambassador in Moscow, Russia[3] and a consulate in Yerevan.[4]
Both countries are full members of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
Culture and community
There is a strong presence of Armenians in Uruguay, where they have their own cultural and religious institutions, including the AGBU Uruguay Chapter, established in 1939.
Uruguay was the first country in the world to recognize the Armenian genocide, back in 1965.[5]
