Cowan railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the northern Sydney suburb of Cowan, opening in 1890.[1]

Cowan was a terminating point for CityRail suburban services until January 1992 when all services were curtailed at Berowra.[2] A soundbound passing loop is located immediately south of the station. In February 1999, it was extended south 1.1 kilometres to allow 1.5 kilometre freight trains to stable.[3] North of the station the 8.6 kilometre Cowan Bank commences its descent.

Platforms & services

Cowan has two side platforms. It is serviced by NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line services travelling from Sydney Central to Hamilton (Newcastle).[4]
