Dobrolet (Russian: Добролёт) was a Russian low-cost airline based at Sheremetyevo International Airport and a subsidiary of Aeroflot. It operated scheduled flights to domestic destinations.[1]

History

The airline was founded in the autumn of 2013 by Aeroflot, the Russian flag carrier airline based in Moscow. Dobrolet started operations in May 2014 on a Boeing 737-800NG.

The name "Dobrolet" extends all the way back to 1923 when the Dobrolet Russian Voluntary Air Fleet Joint-Stock Company was founded.

The European Union blacklisted Dobrolet on July 30, 2014 as part of a sanctions package against Russia. Dobrolet was the exclusive operator of flights between Moscow and Simferopol. As a result of the sanctions, on 3 August 2014 the company announced that it was ceasing all the operations.[2][3]
