Mater the Greater is a 2008 Pixar computer-animated short film directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Rob Gibbs and Victor Navone. It is the second short in the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales series. The short features characters from the Cars films and takes place after the events of Cars. It was first released on Toon Disney on October 28, 2008,[1] and was included in the home release of the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales compilation.[2]

Plot

Mater tells Lightning McQueen a story about how he used to be a daredevil. He said his greatest stunt was jumping over Carburetor Canyon. However, Lightning McQueen went first, and according to Mater, he didn't make it.

On November 2, 2010, Mater the Greater was released on DVD and Blu-Ray as part of the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales compilation disc set.
