Mexico–Sahrawi Republic relations refers to the current and historical relations between the United Mexican States and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). Mexico recognized SADR on 8 September 1979,[1] formal diplomatic relations were established in the same month,[2] during the José López Portillo government.
Diplomatic relations
On 15 February 2001, a Sahrawi embassy was opened in Mexico City,[3] while the Mexican embassy in Algiers had been accredited to the SADR since the early 1980s.[4]

- Sahrawi president Mohamed Abdelaziz visited Mexico from 29 November 2012 to 2 December 2012. He was on an official visit to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the new president-elect Enrique Peña Nieto.[5][6][7]
- Sahrawi Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamed Salem Salek visited Mexico in March 2013, meeting his counterpart José Antonio Meade at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.[8]
