Samastipur Junction railway station, (Station code: SPJ), is a railway station serving the city of Samastipur in the Samastipur district in the Indian state of Bihar.[2] The Samastipur Junction railway station, is well connected to most of the major cities in India by the railway network and serves the city with numerous number of trains. Samastipur is well connected to Patna, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Guwahati, Surat, Lucknow, and other cities. It is also the originating station for many superfasts and express trains.

Facilities

The major facilities available are Waiting rooms, retiring room, computerized reservation facility, Reservation Counter, Vehicle parking etc.[3][4] The vehicles are allowed to enter the station premises. There are refreshment rooms vegetarian and non vegetarian, tea stall, book stall, post and telegraphic office and Government Railway police(G.R.P) office. Automatic ticket vending machines have been installed to reduce the queue for train tickets on the station.[5]#wifi available

Platforms

It had 9 platform but now it reduced to 7 platforms at Samastipur Junction. The platforms are interconnected with two foot over bridge(FOB). Platform 6and 7 are most busy platforms and mostly used for long route trains.
