request for merger[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the merge. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the merge was: not to merge.

I added a request for merger, because I don't believe the history of black people, in hockey, needs to be segregated from the main article on the history of ice hockey. NorthernThunder (talk) 23:33, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the merger request since the target page was redirected to Ice hockey#History back in 2008. --64.85.221.4 (talk) 15:20, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Val James?[edit]

why is there no mention or section on him in this article? 74.104.150.176 (talk) 01:49, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Because no one has added him to this article. Feel free to be bold and do that yourself. Echoedmyron (talk) 02:02, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalizing Black[edit]

(@1995hoo: so you're aware of this)

I'd like to offer that this page should be capitalizing Black as per AP’s style which is now to capitalize Black in a racial, ethnic or cultural sense. As per AP, this conveys an essential and shared sense of history, identity and community among people who identify as Black, including those in the African diaspora and within Africa. Being that the league has had a plethora of race-based issues over the past several years, it would be a meaningful mark of this community to allow this change. Further evidence that this is acceptable MOS:PEOPLANG Mrohlewis (talk) 19:32, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I got your ping. I’ve reopened a discussion about this issue at the WikiProject Ice Hockey talk page (sorry, I’m not sure how to link that). I think that would be more appropriate than discussing this multiple times on different articles' pages. 1995hoo (talk) 21:54, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Centralise this discussion, rather then having it on multiple platforms. The latter will only ensure a no consensus result. GoodDay (talk) 22:27, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
