Runway length
[edit]I've added a {{fact}} tag because I can't find anything that shows the runway length to be 2,100m. Both the official site and the WAD show 1,850. The offical site does talk about extending to 2,500m. Also in the "latest news" section it says "Starting late May,". Does anyone know what year? CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 18:42, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Airlines & destinations
[edit]For User:Tobibln: I know about Club Air's going bankrupt, but according to the airport's official website, Nouvelair still offers direct flights from CLJ airport to Monastir during the summer season. Cristibur 17:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have re-organised the Airlines & destinations section and added a destinations map as well. Alexrap 16:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Accidents & incidents section
[edit]I propose removing the "Accidents & Incidents" section of the article; The section is not part of the standard Wikiproject Airports ([1])Cristibur 14:13, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have nothing against its removal. Alexrap 13:56, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Idiomatic English
[edit]This article is very well written indeed, but it can be ammended slightly so that the language it uses is more like that used by native speakers of English. I have therefore made three sets of ammendments. However, I have not, I hope, changed the meaning of anything that was already written. I am an English man who lives in Cluj (and loves this city!) and I have worked as a technical writer. But please, if you wish, challenge any ammendments that I have made, or revert to the original text if you believe that my ammendments are unwanted. Frankieparley 12:04, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- Your changes/improvements are more than welcome. Alexrap 10:30, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot :-) I will have a look at other Wikipedia articles relating to Cluj, when I get the time. Frankieparley 15:08, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Avia-Fokker aircraft
[edit]Any anybody give more specific information about the "eight-seat Avia-Fokker aircraft" used on the Czech Airlines Prague-Cluj-Bucharest flight in the 1933s? I can find no reference to this type of aircraft elsewhere, though I am not an expert in this subject. Frankieparley 12:08, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Logo CLJ.jpg
[edit]Image:Logo CLJ.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Picture of the Airport
[edit]We need a new picture of the Cluj Airport Terminal! The old building is no longer in use for more than 2 years now! If anyone has a new picture and wishes to share it freely, please do so! --Xanthar (talk) 20:31, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Avram Iancu - Mass murderer of innocent Hungarians
[edit]How can it be that Cluj/Kolozsvár airport has been named after a mass murderer of innocent Hungarians? This is absolutely unacceptable, but nevertheless has been allowed by the Chauvinist Romanian officials.
Massacres against the Hungarians
[edit]Through 1848 and 1849, the Hungarians in Transylvania became exposed to the oppositions and repressions of Romanians and Transylvanian Saxons.[1][better source needed] The Romanian massacres were a revenge for the Szekely offensive over the Romanian communities.[2]
On 18 October 1848, Romanians attacked and murdered the inhabitants of the village of Sângătin (Kisenyed), located near to Hermannstadt (Sibiu).[1][3] Another important event of the 1848–1849 conflict was massacre at Nagyenyed (today Aiud) (8–9 January 1849). During the event, Romanians massacred around 600 people in the town.[4] Additionally, the troops of Transylvanian Romanians organized by Avram Iancu, who were supporting the Austrian Emperor, fought the organized Hungarian forces from Zalatna (today Zlatna) and Körösbánya (Baia de Criş).[5]
During the fight of Zlatna (Zalatna), in October 1848 about 640 citizens[6] of the town were killed including the teachers, priests, doctors and merchants of the town. Thirteen thousand gold and twenty thousand silver coins were robbed from the town's treasury. The massacre was incited and led by a local Romanian lawyer called Petru Dobra.[7] Thirty Hungarians were killed in Boklya.[8] About 200 Hungarians were killed in Gerendkeresztúr (Grindeni)[8] and some 90 beaten to death near Marosújvár (Ocna Mureş).[9]
Massacres with Hungarian victims occurred in the following places:
Date | Location | Hungarian victims |
---|---|---|
12 October 1848 | Kisenyed (Sângătin) | 140[10] |
8–9 January 1849 | Nagyenyed (Aiud) | 600[4] |
October 1848 | Magyarigen (Ighiu) | 200[11] |
24 October 1848 | Ompolygyepüi (Presaca Ampoiului) railway station | 700[11] |
January 1849 | Marosújvár (Ocna Mureş) | 90[10] |
1848 | Gyulafehérvár (Alba Iulia) | unknown[12] |
October 1848 | Naszód (Năsăud) | unknown[12] |
October 1848 | Zalatna (Zlatna) | 640[13] |
October 1848 | Borbánd (Bărăbanţ) | unknown[12] |
This number contains only the recorded victims. The real number could be much more, if we take in consideration those many hundreds who did not died because of massacres, but during of their imprisonment and dragging with force to Naszód, Hátszeg, or Monorfalva by the Romanians in the autumn of 1848, or those who disappeared.[14] So the exact number of the Hungarian victims is hard to be shown. The Habsburgs in 1850 made a census of the victims, but it was not in their interest to show the real number of the losing side's civilian victims. Their recordings were almost exclusively about the numbers of the Romanians and Saxons killed by the Hungarians and neglected the Hungarian victims.[15] Because of the impossibility to make immediately after the events an organised census showing the number of the Hungarian victims, an exact number is hard to tell, because in the events many archives disappeared, and in many the organised Hungarian life ceased. This is why there are no sources about these places. The sources which can be researched are: the churches recordings, memories, some contemporary articles in the Hungarian newspapers, researches made after the events (Szilágyi Farkas: Alsó Fehér vármegye 1848-49-ben. In. Alsó Fehér vármegye monmográfiája III. 1. rész, Nagyenyed 1898, Dálnoky Incze József: Irtóháború 1848 és 1849-ben in manuscript), etc.[16]

Kolozsvári nemzetközi repülőtér is the name in Hungarian
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Kolozsvári nemzetközi repülőtér is the name of this airport in Hungarian which is the second most widely used language of Kolozsvár (Cluj). Kolozsvár is an historically Hungarian city in Transylvania. This is FACT. Hungarian is not an official language in Transylvania because the Hungarians have been made second class citizens in their own homeland ever since Transylvania and with it, Kolozsvár, was given to Romania in the Trianon Diktat of 1921. There are certain chauvinistic individuals who do not tolerate Hungarian's right to their own language, this is unacceptable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.89.201.254 (talk) 18:24, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
