Photos

[edit]

I like the additional photographs. Regards Greg Gregorydavid 22:58, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Restructured

[edit]

The article was a mess. It's supposed to be an encyclopedia article about the automaker DKW, not a photo gallery or a list of models. I've removed excess photos and excess sections, split the model details about vans into new articles, and generally improved the structure. I think it looks a lot better now. --kingboyk 17:56, 11 November 2007 (UTC) ...but I might have overdone it re images. I see someone has already put a Commons image back in, one or two more might be good. --kingboyk 22:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you have removed all the external links and virtually all of the images and in my opnion left the article in a disintegrated state. There is enough precedent on Wikipedia for galleries to be set up. Why did you not just trim any galleries you felt were overloaded? When an article is in stub stage external links, sometimes in other languages serve a valuable purpose.Gregorydavid 03:16, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have spelt his name wrong, it is spelt with a Ö, not with a Ø. 80.192.246.56 (talk) 19:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Falcon-Eagle200780.192.246.56 (talk) 19:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.192.246.56 (talk)

No, I don´t think so. He was Danish, and even on the Danish DKW page his name is spelled "JØrgen". --328cia (talk) 22:56, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who knows this company as "Dampf-Kraft-Wagen"?

[edit]

I cannot understand why this article is titled "Dampf-Kraft-Wagen" when practically no-ore referes to the company or the brand as such. Even from the days when they made hilfsmotoren, before they made motorcycles or cars, they were known just as DKW.

Naming the article "Dampf-Kraft-Wagen" makes as little sense as naming the article on Saab "Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget" and even less sense than naming the article on BMW "Bayerische Motoren Werke" becasue there are actually some people who have heard that phrase. Thankfully, NSU Motorenwerke was not expanded to "Neckarsulm Stricktmachinen Union", and the long name it does have is probably due to necessary disambiguation, which does not appear so necessary for DKW. Fully agree - hence I just renamed the article per WP:BOLD and WP:COMMONNAME --Biker Biker (talk) 06:19, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
