Was there an "affair"?
[edit]Is there any documentation that Fanne Foxe and Wilbur Mills were having an "affair" as the stub says? Or could it be that they were just friends?
I remember the Tidal Basin incident. At the time, Fanne Foxe was dancing in a club called the Silver Slipper--long gone, now. But then, even after Congressman Mills acknowledged his alcohol problem, I remember that he was very open about his friendship with Fanne Foxe, and tried to treat it positively. In the papers, he said he admired her act, and wanted to be supportive to her in her career. There was even a picture of him, quite sober and looking into the camera, with Foxe dancing in the background.
That doesn't sound like the aftermath of an affair uncovered, especially since I believe Wilbur Mills was married. 140.147.160.78 13:05, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
- Sadly marriage doesn't mean the same to all of us... Mariano(t/c) 13:48, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not expressing any kind of judgement on anybody's commitment to marriage vows. But "affair" suggests that people are having sex. Being friends with a stripper, even having too much to drink and making a fool of oneself while in her company, does not prove that the two are having sex. That's all. 140.147.160.78 19:09, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
- Fanne Fox, like Jessica Rabbit, enjoyed a game of patty cake every once in a while. Wilbur was never averse to that innocent game, because he had excellent eye-hand coordination.Lestrade (talk) 01:38, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Lestrade

Notability
[edit]She was at the center of one of the most colorful U.S. political scandals of the 1970s, so I can't imagine how she wouldn't be notable. We have an article on Christine Keeler... AnonMoos
Her name was at the heart of one of the most famous scandals of the seventies. I think the article must remain. Alexander Cox, Costa Rica.

- I agree. She is definitely notable, and the article does an adequate job of explaining why she is notable. I'm removing the non-notable tag. —Lowellian (reply) 16:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Sources for expansion and further sourcing notability
[edit]This woman is more than a one-trick pony (no pun intended). She has news coverage in multiple reliable sources from 1974 until 2009 [1][2], and is writen of in detail in a great number of boooks [3][4]. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 17:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
