I am 'claiming' Greig as an Indian cricketer - just as Ranji is an English cricketer. He was a very large figure in contemporary Indian cricket, and was the batsman that the opponents wanted to get out while playing against the Europeans. When compared to this, his contribution to Hampshire cricket was almost nothing. Had India achieved Test status, 30 years before they did, it is probable that Grieg would have played for them - and probably captained them. So he deserves to be honoured as an Indian cricketer, more than as an English cricketer. Tintin 13:21, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
