What kind of billiards?
[edit]The article says "billiards", but does this mean carom billiards (three-cushion, etc.), the game of English billiards, or pocket billiards (pool)? Makes a difference, even for WP category purposes. — SMcCandlish [talk] [contrib] ツ 02:33, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Jim Wych was not the first overseas player to reach the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship. Cliff Thorburn was runner up in 1977, Eddie Charlton reached the final in 1973 and Peter Mans was a quarter-finalist in 1950!

- The operative phrase is "in his debut year."
