This page does not meet the requirements laid down by Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Unless you rewrite it soon, it will have to be greatly edited. You will need citations for your statements of fact. kju 22:17, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All references of fact came from same book. Article completely factual. Please explain "rule breaks". Hammer1980 22:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The facts aren't in dispute - the writing style was the problem - see WP:BLP#STYLE kju 01:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Read it. I am still missing the problem. Never mind. Hammer1980 00:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Emphasis on the WAS - it now conforms to the following: "Biographies of living people should be written responsibly, conservatively, and in a neutral, encyclopedic tone... The writing style should be neutral, factual, and understated, avoiding both a sympathetic point of view and an advocacy journalism point of view."
The parts where you had a problem were where it went into the more colourful turns of phrase:
"After a two-year lay-off he got back in the saddle in 1960 with Ipswich."
"Len was a great showman on the centre green, always encouraging the Waterden Road faithful to get behind their team."
"He took to the terraces with his hat, scarf and clipboard to support his beloved Hackney Hawks."
Also, there were small things, like the heading:
Name: Len Silver
Birth Date: 2nd February 1932
Place of Birth: East London
which did not conform to the general Wikipedia style of biographical articles. So I cleaned it up. I like seeing a detailed history of British Speedway on Wikipedia - my Dad used to race in England in the 1970s - and I didn't want the article to be killed by one of the admins. kju 13:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
