Not enough "wrestling is scripted"
[edit]This page should be deleted because it does not include the fact that professional wrestling is "a non-competitive professional sport, where all matches are scripted by the promotion's booking staff, and is also considered an athletic performing art, containing strong elements of catch wrestling, mock combat and theatre." This article might lead people to believe that professional wrestling is not non-competitive, and therefore might make people believe that professional wrestling is not scripted, which might make people believe that professional wrestling is not scripted, and is therefore actually people beating each other up with a competitive edge and that all the matches are not scripted, which may lead little children to practice the "art" of professional wrestling, which may lead to actual injury. I honestly think somebody should fix this or else this will have to be removed from the Professional Wrestling portal, which will lead people to confusion, and brains will explode. Please think of the children, editors. 68.255.75.249 (talk) 21:20, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Michael Hutter → Derrick Bateman – More well known as ring name "Derrick Bateman" compared to "Michael Hutter" because Bateman has appeared on WWE television NXT and SmackDown which have international outreach. Never used Hutter on television, only ring name. Starship.paint (talk) 04:25, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Derrick Bateman → Ethan Carter III – Ethan Carter III is his latest ring name and not Derrick Bateman (WWE days). Someone reverted my move without giving a reasonable explanation -- Marty2Hotty (talk) 07:32, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose nop. I explained the move. Bateman is the common name due to his major exposition in WWE. Hutter used the name EC3 in tna a few months, we dont know if " he will be known as this going forward".(crystal ball) --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:42, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- He wasn't a "major competitor" in WWE. He is being pushed significantly on TNA as Ethan Carter III and it seems this is a long term deal. Derrick Bateman was his ring name in WWE. I say this article should be renamed. Marty2Hotty (talk) 20:50, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- "it seems this is a long term deal" Again, Crystal Ball. When EC3 becomes the common name, we'll renamed. until then, we can't predict the future. He spent two years in the world's major company. Two months in TNA isn't enought. Also, he only had matches against jobbers, not a major storyline or championship. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:28, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose For now. He wasn't given the spotlight as Derreck Bateman in WWE but he was there for quite some time and they are the big leagues so I think a better case could be made that Bateman is his WP:COMMONNAME. He is more prominently featured in TNA, but I don't think he's been there long enough to be known more commonly as Carter.LM2000 (talk) 19:51, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Ethan Carter III
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ethan Carter III's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 08:42, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

EC3 first Opponent information from on WWE.com is Cezar Bononi Resolved
[edit]Information on EC3 Wikipedia page "After a public vote, fans wanted to see EC3 face Cezar Bononi as his first NXT opponent." It believe the the poll its not just a poll, but worthy information to be posted on Wikipedia page. As long it has a source, However due Wikipedia editors reverting it back and forth. There must some clearficaition allowing the information or not to be posted even if the guideline stated or not. Need contributor or person who crated this page to review the issue. BusriderSF2015 (talk) 5:17PM, 7 February 2018 (PT)
- Just coming in, I don't really have a dog in this fight but came across it because an IP was removing information and/or being disruptive so was fixing up their edits. They reverted me saying it was just a poll so I changed the wording to better match that, I'm ok with it staying or going. Just was here because of the IPs edits. NZFC(talk) 01:27, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Just a issue needed to be review by other editors. For now it remains at "NXT Future Star of Year 2017 Cezar Bononi being EC3 first NXT opponent from his 2nd return to NXT. You think this guy with many matches to be in the NXT Year End - Future Stars Awards 2017, not part of a information, just look this guy Matches https://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=16194&page=4 BusriderSF2015 (talk) 5:38PM, 7 February 2018 (PT)
- I don't see how this is in any way relevant. Polls occur all the time, and like the IP said, they're not definitive booking decisions. Alexa Bliss is leading in a WWE poll for fans to vote for who they would like their valentine to be. Should that be added to her page? JTP (talk • contribs) 22:29, 14 February 2018 (UTC)

Ethan Carter III → EC3 or EC3 (wrestler) – He hasn't used the "Ethan Carter III" ringname in quite sometime. Most sources nowadays mostly refer to him as EC3 which warrants the name change per WP:NAMECHANGES. ♡RAFAEL♡(talk) 19:00, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- Technical oppose, EC3 is an occupied title. BD2412 T 21:57, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose No sources cited, and the current title is good natural disambiguation. 162 etc. (talk) 22:09, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose It would need a disambigulator if we simplified it to EC3 and I'm not sure if that's warranted.LM2000 (talk) 08:24, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support, but to EC3 (wrestler) to avoid issues with the disambig page. — Czello 09:12, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Strong oppose target is a dab page. I see no reason to merge the dab page into a hatnote on this article -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 06:29, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support moving to EC3 (wrestler). JellyMan9001 (talk) 01:02, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
