Mystery (Faye Wong album)Mi (Faye Wong album) – Although commonly translated as Mystery by fans alike, "" has multiple meanings. There is no official English title, and, besides one dead source, there are no other sources using Mystery. Adding another term "album" would not help matters. (Mi is a redirect page.) George Ho (talk) 07:48, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - but given only one English source would not object to Mi (Faye Wong album) retained. Super Junior-M also have an album 迷, but that isn't the point, deleting (Faye Wong album) deletes the only identifiable thing about the album. Same with the other albums. • Why is this being rendered into Mandarin without Cantonese also? -- 70.24.250.103 (talk) 04:32, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As the article says, it's Category:Mandopop albums. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:26, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Billboard on 1994 release says "Riddle", evidently no agreed English name. As Teresa Teng Dandan you qing and WP:PINYIN. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:23, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. WP:NAME says 'On the English Wikipedia, article titles are written using the English language.' WP:NAMINGCRITERIA says the guiding principles are recognizability, naturalness, precision, conciseness and consistency. IMHO "Mystery (Faye Wong album)" is good on all these counts, and is actually best for recognizability and naturalness because of usage by fans. WP:COMMONNAME says, 'Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it prefers to use the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources.' English-language sources usually refer to this album by an attempted translation rather than romanization. As for Dandan youqing, I would move it to Light Exquisite Feelings.Fayenatic London 12:51, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Perhaps we can disregard fansites as unreliable. One uses Riddle, while another reliable source uses Mystery. Both are correct, but neither is commonly used (excluding fansites and forums). --George Ho (talk) 03:49, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Note to closing admin - Fayenatic has changed to support per MOS:ALBUM on the other 2 RMs. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:55, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did for those, reluctantly. I'm looking for my copy of a pullout from The Straits Times which I'm pretty sure had a section on this album and called it "Mystery". That still seems to me the natural name to use, if cited. Still, I won't mind too much if it gets moved, as articles & templates can include good-faith translations alongside the pinyin. – Fayenatic London 08:50, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose bit of a conundrum, but I don't like this trend of renaming cantopop albums merely for the paucity of sources for the various 'English titles'. If anything there isn't such a thing as standardised cantonese pinyin, and the sinicised names as proposed look weird, are completely meaningless to the English-speaker, and it has to be said these sinicised names have definitely not passed into English language, and in such a case I would say an approximative yet elegantly translated English title is preferable. -- Ohconfucius ping / poke 09:13, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Which English title is "approximative" yet elegant? --George Ho (talk) 19:54, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
