Raphael Shore is not Rabbi Ephraim Shore

[edit]

Although, I think that Rabbi Ephraim Shore is Raphael Shore's father. --John Bahrain (talk) 11:40, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References

Thanks E dog95 for cleaning up.
Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Reliable sources states very clearly: "Self-published books, zines, websites, webforums, and blogs should never be used as a source for material about a living person." Which, without prejudice to the content or the author, disallows the use of Richard's article.[1] -- davidz (talk) 19:05, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If he's not a notable person then yes...let's remove it. E_dog95' Hi ' 19:08, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Blogs from Richard or anyone but the subject are not usable in biographies of living persons. It seems a good guideline. -- davidz (talk) 19:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Israel Lobby?

[edit]

It may sound like some naive question but, if Shore is Canadian-Israeli why is there a reference to the "Israel Lobby" which actually provides information regarding the so-called "pro-Israel Jewish Lobby" in UK and the States? I'm not denying the existence of "lobbies" representing many groups in both countries and even in Canada or any other country, yet it seems "little" biased such inclusion of "Israel Lobby" reference here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.236.108.225 (talk) 08:20, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good point, particularly on a WP:BLP. Fixed. Jayjg (talk) 00:17, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Improve article

[edit]

Came across this article. It could do with a clean-up and update. Going to see what I can do. MaskedSinger (talk) 09:41, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Thismess I see that you reverted some of my edits - twice.
I'm not interested in an edit war so I'm bringing my thoughts here in order to discuss because frankly some of the reverts and thuas what's currently on the article are inaccurate.
First of all he's no longer with the Clarion Project but this new organization called OpenDor Media so I'm not sure why you removed the subsection about OpenDor. What was the reason for doing so? Can it go back?
Second, in the lede, re the Clarion Project you putback whose stated mission is "exposing the dangers of Islamist extremism". The source for this is Clarion's site but I don't see this on their site.
This is why I changed it to nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the threats of Islamist extremism and providing a platform for moderate Muslim voices.
What was wrong with what I put?
If you don't like that, there is also their actual mission statement and also what's currently on Clarion's Wiki article which says to expose and reduce the threats of extremism to create a safer world for all
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

Those parts of your edits should be ok, so I have restored it, albeit the part you cited in the lead in quotation marks since it's a direct quote from his own promotional page. Thismess (talk) 16:48, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. Really appreciate it. MaskedSinger (talk) 17:30, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
