Fair use rationale for Image:Red Storm Entertainment (logo).gif

[edit]

Image:Red Storm Entertainment (logo).gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent additions and encyclopedic writing style

[edit]

Some of the recent expansions of the article seem to have been made by people who are more familiar with the opinionated writing style of advertisements or company self-descriptions than with the factual, neutral style expected in an encyclopedia.

Example:

"A pillar of the vibrant and growing game development in the Research Triangle area, Red Storm remains committed to quality gameplay, innovation, and upholding the traditions of excellence it has maintained in its eleven-plus years of top-notch game development."

I would recommend reading WP:NPOV, WP:PEACOCK and generally to be aware of the fact that this website is a collaborative effort to create an encyclopedia - not a free advertising space, have a look at Wikipedia:FAQ/Business (especially the section "May I advertise my organization or its campaigns, products, services or leading individuals on Wikipedia?").

A general encyclopedia is also the wrong place to list employee parties, an internal company wiki would be more appropriat for that.

Ubisoft Red StormRed Storm Entertainment – The official name of the studio is "Red Storm Entertainment", not "Ubisoft Red Storm". The full legal name being "Red Storm Entertainment, Inc." The page was incorrectly moved in 2010 and should be moved back under it's previous title. You can read Ubisoft's official studio's description here: https://www.ubisoftgroup.com/en-US/about_ubisoft/world_presence/studio_redstorm.aspx as well as Red Storm Entertainment's own self reference on their webpage: http://redstorm.com. Names the studio has been historically referred to, both officially and unofficially include "Red Storm", "RSE", "Ubisoft Red Storm", and "Red Storm Entertainment, A Ubisoft Studio" --Relisted. Gaming platforms chart and chronology

[edit]

In the interest of utility and clarity, I'm going to revamp the game chart. There are too many "No" boxes, not because the game wasn't made for whatever console, but because the console did not coexist with the game. MSJapan (talk) 06:14, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So I ended up redoing both the PC and console sections as a bullet list, but I think it could take up less space if the date was incorporated into the bullet line for each game, but I don't want to make too many changes at once. Thoughts and feedback appreciated. MSJapan (talk) 06:49, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Themageling, thanks for the heads-up! This seemingly wasn't updated in ten years. I've corrected the article. Regards, Lordtobi () 12:04, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
