Picture update

[edit]

Can we get a new picture of Shelly in her Ariel character?

Why did you delete the pic I added it's perfectly appropiate to have her as "Salinas" whom she is portraying right now...There is already a pic of her as "Ariel" just below... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maverrek (talkcontribs) 20:28, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adult model?

[edit]

I found a website online with several (appearently legitimate) nude photographs, confirmed by her shadow tattoo mostly, and i will provide a link if asked for proof, but my question is should she be added to the adult model category because of them (they appear to be professional photographs.

She should at least be included in the models category, however I don't think she's done enough nude shoots to be included in the adult model's.

I've seen those too. I think they're legit photos too. She should definately be in the models category, though I don't think she's done enough adult modeling for that category. --James Duggan 22:04, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If verifiable references to her nude work can be provided within the article, then it would be correct to add her to that category. However, if the article never mentions or verifies her work as an adult model, the category shouldn't be used. Dugwiki 23:02, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Theres also two videos.

Pointless Pictures

[edit]

I deleted those nude pictures that were linked to her Wiki and the line "it can be confirmed she shaves her pussy". It's shouldn't be included, it shouldn't be written in that vile context. If you disagree, put it back. - Jason 13:02 CT

Breast Implants

[edit]

It should mention in the article that she recently had breast implants.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.247.21.121 (talkcontribs)

No. You have to think what would go into an encyclopaedia that you might pick up in the library. Breast implants might gain a mention if there was something especially notable about them, for example Jordan (Katie Price) is famous largely on account of her ever-changing implant size. Lolo Ferrari's implants made her the woman with the biggest breasts in the world.
Shelly Martinez however is just one of many women that have had the operation and as her implants have not been mentioned in the media nor contributed to her success, any mention of her implants is unnecessary. Suriel1981 12:10, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But they did mention them in Chynas article so he has a point.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.247.21.121 (talkcontribs)

Chyna has publicly talked about her implants, including going into some detail in her autobiography about one of them bursting. Suriel1981 11:29, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What about Lita?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.7.130 (talkcontribs)

How is having breast implants relevant or appropriate for an encyclopaedia entry...?? Suriel1981 03:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This site is to find everything to know about a person so it is relevant. You should include all Wwe divas too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.7.130 (talkcontribs)

Nope. That information is personal and has no bearing on the subject's public or professional life in this case. In any case there is probably no acceptable source that any of them have had implants. In Chyna's case she stated in her biography so that can be attributed. And no, fansites and fan-forums are not acceptable sources. Suriel1981 04:12, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Besides, Wikipedia isn't "to find everything to know about a person." It's an encyclopedia. Jeff Silvers 02:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But Playboy playmates are models and in their articles it says that they have breast implants. And sure enough WWE Divas are models. They have measuremennts and have photo shoots too just like Playmates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.68.248.200 (talkcontribs)

Read WP:N. It's not notable if she got breasts implants (which I am not sure she has since she is on TV every week and her breasts look the same as they did when ECW started last year). Can you show notability? If not, then it won't be mentioned. TJ Spyke 04:40, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also there is the issue that currently their occupation is "professional wrestling performer". Any legitimate measurements found from their modelling days would probably be out-of-date and thus incorrect and thus should not appear in the article. Breast enhancements (if they could be proved with a legitimate news source would likewise be irrelevant to their current career and not suitable for inclusion. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹SpeakSign 04:48, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This information is trivial and unnecessary. It's not really relevant unless it was part of a storyline...and storylines are what the divas jobs entail. Just because they take pictures for WWE material and do the occasional fitness or car magazine cover doesn't classify them as models by profession. Why do you think the WWE popularized the term "diva?" Because calling em "wrestlers" would be 1) too manly, 2) too generic (when was the last time you heard em call anyone a "wrestler"...it's "superstar" now), and 3) it's not exactly accurate for all of them, as they really don't do much wrestling...and to top it off, there's no term that really encapsulates what they are and the duties they perform...so, their job title is made-up. Otherwise, they would be called models. So, the arguement that other models have the info isn't relevant...the divas aren't models.

On top of that, as stated before, the examples given where the info is mentioned all include perfectly reasonable cases for the info's inclusion and its relevance. Unless a strong case can be made for the relevance of the info, their chest measurements aren't to be considered significant information. And even if they were, what would a viable source be?

I also like the way 209.247.21.121 tried to sock puppet with the same damn IP address...nice try. Keep it up, great way to get blocked. --JohnDoe0007 09:44, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But you have to think, that 209.247.21.121 could have been two different users on the same computer or network hookup. Buton a different note, I think that we should include the breast inhancement info in the article because it would be wrong to it on Litas page and not Shellys.AD Double J 23:34, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds like WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I've deleted that information on Amy Dumas' article per WP:LIVING "editors should exercise restraint and include only information relevant to their notability" and "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid. It is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives". ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹SpeakSign 14:48, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I started this topic as there seems to be an issue with external links regarding Shelly Martinez. The two websites, Desirelive.com and ShellyMartinez.com, should be left as one is a page of her official sites and the other is her official site. The photo gallery link serves no real purpose in this article because,

1/ it is a fansite, and

2/ it isn't even a fansite for her.

Photos are a nice touch in the actual article provided they are free to use, but links to websites claiming to be "the largest gallery of photos" are frowned upon and will be removed. - Deep Shadow 07:45, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The website doesn't claim to be "the largest gallery of photos", I claimed that. Frown all you want kid, you don't own Wikipedia. You should be glad I don't delete all the content off the page because almost all of it in unsourced and it should be nominated for deletion for that very reason. Wikipedia requires reliable sources. KingOfDaBurbs 08:27, 21 May 2007 (UTC)KingOfDaBurbs[reply]
First of all, I'm not a kid. Secondly, I never claimed to own Wikipedia. I'm just an editor. I don't need to be "glad" that you don't delete the content off the article because you ALSO don't own Wikipedia. Threats like that can help get a user banned.
I understand that you are passionate about this article but there are certain guidelines to follow regarding editing of pages. Please read WP:OWN for more information.
The article is not original research. It does cite its sources where it counts.
The photo gallery is irrelevant to the article. Unless you can provide credible reasons why it should be included, it will remain off the links section. - Deep Shadow 08:43, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tattoos

[edit]

We need some sources about her tattoos. While some of them are obvious, I have never seen the ones on her wrists. In her Desire days she never had those tattoos which may mean she had gotten them done after she left for WWE. But while she was on the ECW brand she always wore gloves. I will add a citation tag for only these two tattoos. - Deep Shadow 01:48, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen her wrist tattoos on a youtube video after she removed her gloves. 68.54.174.43 03:56, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you go to her myspace she has a picture of her on the beach showing a book, and in the picture you can see both wrist tattoos! Sweet Diva 03:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TNA

[edit]

Should it be mentioned that she is booked for Bound for Glory's women title tournament? Dmanofwiki 03:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changed the wording of the TNA section: how can someone have a debut after they they had already debuted? She had already debuted at Bound For Glory and was already in TNA Today interviews before that. Lynx Raven Raide 11:24, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Her Bio Mentions she is an Energy Vampire

[edit]

Should we mention this? [1] Fangz the Wolf 21:01, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's in reference to her character in ECW, Ariel. I did local television there for about a year then started with the main WWE roster and became Ariel of ECW. A psychic vampire. --James Duggan 00:44, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Shelly Martinez

Orphaned references

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Shelly Martinez's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Removed broken citation. Unable to find a canoe.ca article referencing Martinez's participaction in the battle royal. The closest article (probably the intended one) mentioned the match being won by ODB, nada about Shelly. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 11:51, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
