No Citation for the Alleged Dormition of Mary
[edit]"The 3rd century Book of John about the Dormition of Mary places her tomb in Gethsemene", thus the article says, but no footnote. If there is such a work, I would dearly love to see the citation. I am aware of a work which has been dated 6th century, part of Tischendorf's collection of apocryphal apocalypses. I have also seen that work dated AD 400. If there is an argument for 3rd century, I would like to read that. (EnochBethany (talk) 05:47, 27 July 2014 (UTC))

Authenticity Section
[edit]There's a mention (...of travels in 560-570 CE, mentions in that valley... which valley?) of a valley in the "authenticity" section, but there's no prior mention of any valley, so this is confusing and the source isn't mentioning any name of the valley as well... please discuss.
Pictures
[edit]I think Jean Zuallart, (see fr:Jean Zuallart) made the first(?) drawing of the plan of the tomb. George Sandys copied him, so did Johannes Cotovicus.. Comments? Huldra (talk) 22:26, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
-
Zuallart, 1587
-
G. Sandys, 1615
-
Van Cootwijck, 1619
- Geoge Sandys wrote a commentary on the Ovidius' Metamoprhoses ([1]) which hasn't inspired Christian authors in the following centuries. The schola palatina instituted by saint Charles the Great forbade Ovidius like other Latin authors. If Sandys also wrote a commentary upon the Song of Solomon and the Book of Psalms, it shall be noted that even Abelardus did something similar. And he had a homosexual relation with Eloisa and he was a worshiper of Satan. Some of the above images can be a false.
Niccacci source: wrong?
[edit]- The link is dead.
- The short text downloadable at Academia.org (or is it .com?) has NOTHING on the Tomb of Mary. Author and title are precisely as indicated here. Maybe there was more on the Christus Rex website, but nut by him, or not under this title.
This is a very serious problem for two reasons:
- All what is now alleged to be sourced on Niccacci might actually be unsourced.
- Even more important paragraphs, now unsourced and until today apparently based on other, actually unrelated sources (fixed that mistake), might possibly be based on the original Christus Rex website, even if not on this particular page.
As of now, large parts of the art. are unsourced, or sourced on a dubious dead-linked text.

Missing topics
[edit]Please check the long list at Talk:Abbey of Saint Mary of the Valley of Jehosaphat#Missing topics. Plus:
- Anything about the Muslim washing facility (bras or bronze vessels, sewage opening) at the Armenian bench?
- Doesn't the Status Quo cover Muslim prayer rights as well? How come the mihrab has been boarded up and put out of use? When did that happen?
