Nationality in lead
[edit]Why is Darchinyan listed in the intro as "an Armenian boxer" when (as is pointed out later in the page) he became an Australian citizen over seven years ago. Surely he should be Australian boxer, Armenian-born Australian boxer, or (if he is a dual citizen) Armenian-Australian boxer. Comments people? Tigerman2005 (talk) 04:03, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Responce to Nationality
[edit]In an interview on 60 minutes, he said he is proud of his Armenian heritage, but he considers himself Australian, his Russian born wife Olga is an Australian Citizen as well, and of course it goes without saying his son Rubin (Aussie born of course). They speak English at home, that sounds pretty bloody Australian to me. Aussie or Aussie/Armenian are valid claims, but to say he's purely 100% Armenian makes 0 sense. I hope this gives you clarity my friend. god bless — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aussieswimmer (talk • contribs) 11:08, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2787151 "A concerned Vic Darchinyan cancelled celebrations after his successful IBF and IBO flyweight titles defences against Victor Burgos, as the stricken Mexican boxer underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. Former IBF junior flyweight champion Burgos was in a medically-induced coma with his wife Claudia, other family and friends at his bedside in a Los Angeles hospital. Darchinyan and his supporters prayed for Burgos and the Australian boxer wanted to visit him in hospital before flying home to Sydney, but was told it wasn't possible."
Fair use rationale for Image:Darchinyan vic2005.jpg
[edit]Image:Darchinyan vic2005.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Enough with the "Chicken Dance"
[edit]There are two separate places which mention "the Chicken Dance" in this article. It is absolutely ridiculous and childish, and is in no way funny at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.166.238.146 (talk) 15:13, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
