Lawyer[edit]If you may want to add Category:Lawyer Wikipedians to your user page.(Attorney does sound less scum of the earthy though ;-) Regarding the two cases you were working on, what exactly were you doing, you are an intellectual property attorney, yes? Thanks for responding to my questions regarding my interest in law. Prodego talk 02:58, 11 November 2005 (UTC) P.S. Merging your anon edits[edit]You would need to contact a developer, like User:Tim Starling to combine your anonymous edits in your history. Agree with you about sending them to hell, but aren't they just a particularly virulent form of neologists (particularly when the "position" is impossible?) Things[edit]Hey, BD. Couple of things for ya.
The Literate Engineer 09:17, 12 December 2005 (UTC) NYT article on Seigenthaler vandal[edit]"Mr. Chase also found that he was slowly being cornered in cyberspace, thanks to the sleuthing efforts of Daniel Brandt, 57, of San Antonio, who makes his living as a book indexer. Mr. Brandt has been a frequent critic of Wikipedia and started an anti-Wikipedia Web site www.wikipedia-watch.org] in September after reading what he said was a false entry about himself." Too bad - so am I, I intend to make it as hard as possible for him to find anything out (shouldn't be too hard, I haven't given anything out - I value anonymity). Well, that is not the only site like that. You'll find a whole lot on Criticism of Wikipedia. Banned users often make sites like this. Hamster Sandwich 22:09, 16 December 2005 (UTC) Brandt and Vilerage[edit]I noticed your comments on Vilerage's user page. I'd just like to point you to this: wikipedia-watch.org/perp. Now, if that is true, then Vilerage is not "cool", he is a computer hacker. If its not true, he should make some statement to prove it is false, and perhaps initiate legal action against Brandt. But from what I can gather, it very much is true. As a legal representative, I hope that you are not encouraging criminal actions, as you may be doing by supporting Vilerage in this. It is quite a different level of action to someone just writing that Brandt is a kook. Brandt is an activist and a conspiracy theorist so most people who are not activists/conspiracy theorists themselves are going to think of him as a crackpot. Nelson Mandella, Malcolm X, Mother Theresa - all kooks per what most people who knew them thought. Most people in that situation get called a kook. But that doesn't excuse running Denial of Service attacks against someone or hacking their computers or doing any other illegal actions. I am waiting for Vilerage's response, but if it turns out that he did do it, I will petition that he be stripped from Adminhood and banned from Wikipedia. Supposedly a vandal-hunter who engages in something much worse than vandalism. Zordrac (talk) Wishy Washy Darwikinian Eventualist 13:05, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Your status[edit]I've noticed that you write your status across the top of your user page and your talk page at the same time. But why type it twice when you can do it only once? You can include {{User:BD2412/Status}} at the top of your pages, and then just type your current status once. You could also use it to present longer-term changes in status using a template (such as the ones on my user page). Just an idea... Barnstar[edit]Thanks for the barnstar! Prodego talk 13:33, 12 January 2006 (UTC) Advice[edit]BD: I need your advice. If you have a chance, see the AMA talk page. There is a proposal that, after much discussion and hard work, Izehar and I put forth to revamp and reform the AMA. The vote was 9-7 with a deadline of the 23d when some of the opposers Sam Spade and Wally for example) decided they wanted an alternative proposal heard instead and wanted the voting to be stopped. I opposed that because they were a bunch a people (now 9-10) that wanted the first proposal to be implemented and I didn't think it was right to suspend that without some consensus from them before moving on with a different idea, especially when those same opposers participated in the initial duiscusson and could have put that alternative idea forth then. I am arguing that we finish the first voting first and then move on to other idea if it fails to reach a consensus. I trust your opinion. Am I wrong or missing something here? Also, your vote would be appreciated. Your message[edit]Thanks for your welcome back; I must admit that it was a near thing. If I hadn't started editing again on that day, I'd probably never had restarted. At the time I didn't know where to start, but I have just created [[Category:Wikipedians by alma mater: Florida International University]] which I think is a start. Of course I'm currently the only one there, but it would be nice you added were there as well as any other student/alumni you know. I suppose if it ever gets large enough, someone may even be so inclined to create a userbox for Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/United States. |
