There have been 19 Davis Cup captains since Australia's first participation in the event in 1905 (as Australasia). The country's first captain was player-captain Norman Brookes. The current captain of the national team is Lleyton Hewitt. Harry Hopman is the most successful captain, leading the country to 22 Davis Cup titles. Neale Fraser was the longest serving captain over a 25 year spell.

Australia Davis Cup team is the Australian men's national tennis team. The team first represented the country independently in 1923 after previously competing as Australasia from 1905 alongside players from New Zealand. However, Anthony Wilding was the only New Zealander to play for the unified team.
