[edit]
  1. Category:Demolished buildings and structures in Columbia, Missouri nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Grey Wanderer (talk · contribs) 05:13, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
  2. T. J. McCreight nominated at AfD; notified DontaviousLongArms (talk · contribs) 17:08, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Found during cleanup of CAT:NN as this has now been tagged for over a decade, I could not find any coverage of him that wasn't transactional (McCreight signs with Browns, McCreight signs with Cardinals, etc) in my WP:BEFORE search, fails WP:GNG. SportingFlyer T·C 17:08, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
  3. James Osborne (sport shooter) nominated at AfD; notified Pauly04 (talk · contribs) 17:27, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:GNG, cannot find any coverage of him in a before search, tagged for over a decade. SportingFlyer T·C 17:27, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
  4. The Scholar (journal) nominated at AfD; notified Jennmarie25 (talk · contribs) 18:46, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Discovered during CAT:NN cleanup, this survived an AfD in 2008 but has been tagged with primary sources/notability since December 2008. I looked for secondary coverage and could not find any, and it's still sourced to primary sources. I'd support keeping this if other sources are found, but I can't find any easily and for now it seems to fail WP:GNG.
  5. Coal Bowl (basketball tournament) nominated at AfD; notified Craigmaceachern (talk · contribs) 23:27, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Can't PROD this since it was de-prodded 11 years ago. There is some coverage, but even the coverage on the CBC web site was written locally, and the rest is all routine youth sports coverage. Fails WP:GNG. (Came across this doing CAT:NN cleanup - simple advertisement here, if you have a minute, check to see if there's an article which has been tagged as not passing the GNG for over a decade and see if you can rescue it or nominate it for deletion and help clean up the encyclopaedia.)
  6. Pulaski Park (Omaha) nominated at AfD; notified Dbabb1 (talk · contribs) 18:27, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: A non-notable local neighborhood park, fails WP:GNG.

August 2020

[edit]
  1. Cape Romano Pyramid House nominated at AfD; notified Jgefd (talk · contribs) 01:21, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: The article relies entirely on a single source, and when I went looking for more sources to confirm the demolition and the demolition date (I've been updating demolition category tags) I found absolutely nothing aside from one exceptionally brief mention here. Fails WP:GNG.

October 2020

[edit]
  1. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Japan nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 20:41, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Duplicate, non-definitive category. All of the structures in this category are already in the category structure Category:Former buildings and structures in Japan (if not in that category, they're properly classified in a sub-category), none of these buildings are classified as a "landmark" within the article text, and a "landmark" is generally a subjective definition (excepting certain places which objectively define the term.)

November 2020

[edit]
  1. Attack Vector: Tactical nominated at AfD; notified MRig (talk · contribs) 23:35, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: I cannot find any reliable secondary sources or reviews with secondary coverage for this product apart from the fact it won an award. I did find a brief mention of it in an academic article but I don't think that's enough for WP:GNG. Furthermore, the only comment on the talk page after 13 years is "This seems like nothing more than a commercial for this product," and the article would need to be heavily cleaned up to pass WP:PROMO.
  2. Kellen Gordon nominated at AfD; notified Rpsmith1988 (talk · contribs) 12:12, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Still fails both WP:GNG and WP:NRU. I nominated this a year ago, and it was kept on the mistaken belief that the US league fell under the rugby notability guidelines. It turns out the US league was added without discussion, and after a review it was correctly removed (disclosure: I was involved in the discussion.) The only identified sources now or at the prior AfD are press releases or from sources that are closely tied to the subject, including the subject's former school and the subject's team, or are not independent, such as a US rugby blog, and nothing has changed in the year plus since the last AfD that would make him notable.
  3. Mitch Craft nominated at AfD; notified Onlythetruth4uall (talk · contribs) 21:05, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Came here from the WikiProject page. Craft fails WP:GNG, WP:GRIDIRON and WP:ACTOR. The only significant coverage I could find on his college career was about a suspension having to do with a crime he committed, he never played in the NFL, "Mitch Craft" "Rattlers" brings up no results in a non-Google search, and I also cannot find any coverage of his acting career, which IMDB notes has been mostly uncredited roles to this point.
  4. Category:Basketball players from Shkodër nominated at CfD (CfM); notified Grutness (talk · contribs); merging to: Category:Sportspeople from Shkodër 00:31, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Upmerge back to the city. This fails WP:OCAT/WP:OCLOCATION, an over-diffusion of player by sport and city.
  5. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Italy nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 18:02, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Per previous discussions, "landmark" is subjective and not objective - it is not clear what is eligible for inclusion in this category. All of these were buildings or structures and I have just made sure they have been cross-categorised in Category:Demolished buildings or structures in Italy, making this redundant to boot.
  6. Category:Buildings and structures demolished in the 20th century in Spain nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Marcocapelle (talk · contribs) 22:31, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Overclassification. We categorise buildings by their demolition date and by their demolition city or country, but this is the first time I've seen an "by X and Y" classification. Upmerging will have to be manually done because the 20th century upmerges to specific years and many of these buildings are already subcatted into cities, but the category needs to go.
  7. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Hungary nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 15:21, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: As per other CfDs, a "landmark" is subjective. While it's part of a generally accepted structure it's also only got one entry which is already in the appropriately diffused categories (Demolished buildings and structures in Hungary and Buildings and structures demolished in #year).
  8. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Denmark nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 19:23, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: As per other discussions, "destroyed" and "landmark" are both subjective, and we have other places for things. Only two buildings in this category, both of which are already properly in country-specific demolished or destroyed cats.
  9. Category:Destroyed landmarks in New Zealand nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 19:27, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
  10. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Turkmenistan nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 12:01, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Per others - "destroyed" and especially "landmarks" are subjective, and there's a good question as to whether the single building in this category was actually destroyed (appears to have been moved.)
  11. Category:Destroyed landmarks in the Netherlands nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 12:02, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

December 2020

[edit]
  1. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Croatia nominated at CfD (CfD); notified F382d56d7a18630cf764a5b576ea1b4810467238 (talk · contribs) 20:15, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: A pure container category, per other recent CSDs "landmark" is subjective and shouldn't be used, and the sub-cats are already properly sub-catted elsewhere.
  2. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Romania nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 13:32, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Per prior discussion, "Destroyed landmarks by country" are subjective, and this category is small and superfluous.
  3. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Bulgaria nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 13:33, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: "Landmark" is not only subjective per many recent CfD discussions, this completely duplicates the proper "Demolished buildings and structures in Bulgaria," which while small is part of a proper categorisation scheme.
  4. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Egypt nominated at CfD (CfM); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs); merging to: Category:Demolished buildings and structures in Egypt 13:34, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: "Landmark" is subjective and we have deleted many categories with this naming convention as a result. The two articles in this category should probably be upmerged.
  5. Category:Players of American football from Detroit: nominated at CfD (CfM); merging to Category:Sportspeople from Detroit; notified Namiba (talk · contribs) 20:54, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: An overcategorisation - we only categorise people by their general occupation (sportspeople), not by their specific occupation (see [1] [2], WP:OCLOCATION, and for instance the broad categories at Category:People from St. Louis by occupation). There's currently no consensus on whether a limited exception exists for cities where this might be defining, but after a search, I don't see any reason why Detroit would be eligible for this exception for American football.
  6. Oscar M. Baine odometer tampering scheme: nominated at AfD; notified Elijahandskip (talk · contribs) 01:04, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: I'll be honest to say I found this I was looking through the creator's contributions after they filed an ANI report about an unrelated incident. I was absolutely shocked to see this passed an AfD nine months ago. This clearly fails WP:CRIME as a routine prosecution that nine months later has received absolutely no additional coverage, failing the sustained element of WP:NOTNEWS. There are also clear WP:BLP1E issues with the article. Typically the rule is to wait a year after a keep AfD, but the problems here are so flagrant it's not worth waiting three months.
  7. C. Clements: nominated at AfD; notified Nick mallory (talk · contribs) 15:29, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: Crystal clear WP:GNG fail. WP:NCRIC gives an assumption to umpires oddly but ultimately requires WP:GNG to be met.
  8. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Latvia: nominated at CfD (CfD); notified Funandtrvl (talk · contribs) 00:10, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
  9. Category:Destroyed landmarks in Kyiv: nominated at CfD (CfR); renaming to Category:Demolished buildings and structures in Kyiv; notified Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk · contribs) 15:09, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: "Landmarks" is subjective - a couple of these articles may not have been "demolished" but on the whole the city is probably just large enough for a "demolished buildings and structures in" category and many of these would be eligible for that category, instead of deleting the category completely.
  10. Category:Footballers from Milan: nominated at CfD (CfM); merging to Category:Sportspeople from Milan; notified JTtheOG (talk · contribs) 15:21, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
    • Reason: (adding additional merge category shortly)
Overcategorisation per WP:OCLOCATION, Category:Golfers from Leeds, the numerous discussions linked there, and the advice set out at this essay written to support the creation of WP:OCLOCATION stating Do not replace national categories with state ones or city ones within an article because not all states and cities have occupational groupings. For example, a California writer should be under both Category:American writers (or a subcategory) and Category:California writers. Keep in mind that the goal here isn't to subdivide the occupation, but is simply to subdivide the geographical area. Dual merge to maintain the categorical structure we have for this: specific occupation by country (to categorise occupation), and general occupation by city (to diffuse which city the person is from.)

March 2021

[edit]
  1. United Airlines Flight 1175: nominated at AfD; notified AyaanLamar (talk · contribs) 14:34, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This was undeleted after a recent deletion review, but it should not have been - this failed notability guidelines at the time and still does. It was restored on the grounds that a single local news report from Honolulu, the NTSB report being published (even though having an NTSB report does not make an incident notable), and being very briefly mentioned in articles about the cowling which fell off a United plane in Denver constitute "new significant coverage." At the original AfD, I noted that this might be notable if coverage of the incident continued, but it didn't. Still fails WP:NOTNEWS.
  2. Northern Virginia United FC: nominated at AfD; notified Quidster4040 (talk · contribs) 13:33, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: The only secondary sources I could find mentioning the clubs were one or two paragraph long game recaps from the Baltimore Sun and the Newport News newspaper. I'm not sure this club passes WP:GNG.
  3. 2018 Chesapeake mayoral special election: nominated at AfD; notified SecretName101 (talk · contribs) 01:29, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable mayoral election, the article fails WP:GNG as written and the event of this election was routine.
  4. 2017 Rutland mayoral election: nominated at AfD; notified BM6 (talk · contribs) 01:35, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: A local election with less than 5,000 votes which only received local or blog coverage in a before search (there was one major right-wing blog which reported the result, but I don't think that's enough for notability.)
  5. Timothy Machin: nominated at AfD; notified Bobo192 (talk · contribs) 22:35, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This was nominated last year, but the nomination was poor, and all of the arguments for keep were that he passed WP:NCRIC. Unfortunately, Machin definitively fails WP:GNG. The only two sources in the article are to Cricket Archive and CricInfo, two statistical database sites which don't pass WP:SPORTCRIT for notability purposes. I did a fairly comprehensive BEFORE search in which I found a reprint of the scorecard of the List A match he played in, but the newspaper did nothing except reprint the score of the match, not provide any significant coverage of him, and the only other appearances of his name were in agate (i.e., not SIGCOV). No issue with an ATD if a suitable one is found.
  6. Anthony Hanley: nominated at AfD; notified Lugnuts (talk · contribs) 16:43, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:GNG. This one is sourced to the traditional cricket databases but also to a national archive page about him being a lieutenant, which isn't enough for a military pass, and an ancestry site, which don't count for notability purposes (we all are eligible for an ancestry page.) A WP:BEFORE search brought up no possible sources for improvement.

April 2021

[edit]
  1. Evangeline Beechler: nominated at AfD; notified KidAd (talk · contribs) 00:12, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Discovered this article since the other Idaho Democratic Party chair is up for deletion as well. Chairs of political parties at the state level aren't automatically notable under WP:NPOL, and the only coverage I can find on her not in the article is about her failed city council race (for a town where councillors would not be presumed notable), so also fails WP:GNG.
  2. Portland Fighting Fillies: nominated at AfD; notified Tom Danson (talk · contribs) 19:10, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Tagged for notability since 2009, it appears the team was covered in the Portland newspaper only once (the source in the article) and apart from a couple very short mentions in other newspapers (mostly Fresno) and one local television news spot, I don't think they're notable. One of the newspaper blurbs said the league was amateur. A merge into the league article might be proper.
  3. Basketball Stevenson: nominated at AfD; notified Louieinayr (talk · contribs) 22:08, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I don't think I can PROD this because the PROD was removed in 2011, but this student sports club clearly fails WP:GNG, the only article about them was written by someone affiliated with the team, and I can't find anything else online that's not a wiki-mirror.
  4. Mike Basso: nominated at AfD; notified Alexsautographs (talk · contribs) 09:30, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:NBASE. While minor league baseballers can be notable, and he received lots of piecemeal coverage (as reflected by the last no consensus, which no consensused on the grounds of non-significant coverage), I don't think WP:GNG is met here.
  5. D. J. Baxendale: nominated at AfD; notified Muboshgu (talk · contribs) 09:38, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable minor league player, fails WP:NBASE. Minor league players can be notable but need to demonstrate a level of notability beyond routine coverage. There's lots of routine coverage sourced in the article that you see of minor league players, game reports and prospect reports, and there's lots of hits of mentions claiming he pitched in various minor league games, but I don't think any coverage of him rises beyond routine game reports/prospect reports. He did play in a couple early games of the College World Series which was reported nationally, but I could only find match report coverage of those as well.
  6. Márton Barta: nominated at AfD; notified Savariensis (talk · contribs) 09:46, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:GNG and WP:YOUNGATH - apart from [3] I cannot find significant coverage of him, even when searching in Hungarian for Barta Márton, and all of his accomplishments are at a junior level. Can always refund if this is simply WP:TOOSOON.
  7. Australian Police Rugby League Association: nominated at AfD; notified 59.101.87.221 (talk · contribs) 20:18, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Twinkle aborted my PROD because this already went thru an AfD (I only checked the page history) so here we are again. There's no secondary coverage of this league at all, the only two sources are primary. A WP:BEFORE search brought up very little.
  8. Bryant Austin: nominated at AfD; notified Bryant Austin (talk · contribs) 20:24, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Originally an autobiography, the article unfortunately fails WP:NBASKET, my source search to check for WP:GNG brought up a mention in the NY Times but with only ten games in the D-League I can't find other significant secondary coverage of him.
  9. Alderson Broaddus Battlers women's soccer: nominated at AfD; notified Abwsoc (talk · contribs) 20:28, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Created by someone affiliated with the team in 2011, the page has been little-updated since but more importantly is sourced only to the team's official website. While we can theoretically have articles about sports clubs that play at below a Division I level, they must pass WP:GNG. While some local sports coverage exists (mostly local player signs with A–B) it's not enough to write a properly sourced article with.
  10. Mati Zata: nominated at AfD; notified Scotfootballedits (talk · contribs) 13:12, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Discovered this article while going through articles tagged with the sports notability guideline. Zata played 21 minutes over 3 games in the Scottish League One, which is two divisions below the only fully professional division in Scotland (he did have eight cup appearances with four starts over three years), and has been released by Dumbarton and is currently without a club, failing WP:NFOOTY. There has been some local coverage of him mostly as a pre-debut youngster, so I didn't PROD this in case there's an argument he meets WP:GNG, but I also don't think that's met.
  11. West End AFC: nominated at AfD; notified Parkz155 (talk · contribs) 16:10, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: A PROD was removed in 2017 since the club technically has played in the New Zealand cup. Coverage I found included a local league write up [4] and another local write up featuring their reserve team [5] but both are WP:ROUTINE and so the article fails WP:GNG. SportingFlyer T·C 16:10, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
  12. Tyler Williams (soccer): nominated at AfD; notified UncleTupelo1 (talk · contribs) 16:15, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: The NASL was technically fully professional, but he played only 200 minutes in 8 appearances, mostly as a sub. The only sources are to Soccerway and the team's website, and I can't find any other WP:GNG-qualifying coverage - all I can find is transactional agate.
  13. Khari Waithe-Alexander: nominated at AfD; notified Mexico Ron (talk · contribs) 16:24, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I can't read The Southern articles in the article, but a newspapers.com search brings up precious little and he's not mentioned significantly in any other papers apart from being listed as an underclassman who declared for the draft. Fails WP:GNG, WP:NCOLLATH.
  14. Tom Windle (baseball): nominated at AfD; notified Yankees10 (talk · contribs) 16:28, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: There was some strangeness regarding PRODs and redirects in late 2020, so bringing this to AfD - no issue if this is redirected. I agree with the PROD: non-notable minor league baseball player, fails WP:NBASE/WP:GNG.
  15. Adam Westall: nominated at AfD; notified Jgjsmith006 (talk · contribs) 17:41, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Never played above the third tier in England so appears to fail WP:NRU, the sources in the article apart from the Swindon Advertiser don't look to pass WP:GNG, and a source search brings up local sources like the Swindon Advertiser. Sending to AfD because there are a few sources which come up, I think they're too routine to demonstrate notability (coverage of seventh level sides in any sport is almost always routine.)
  16. Luis Ruiz (footballer, born 1983): nominated at AfD; notified BKReruns (talk · contribs) 20:27, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This one has me baffled - Playing (and scoring seven goals - maybe that's appearances?) for FC Luzern in 2010 or 2011 would have been very notable as they finished second in the Super League that season. The transfer announcement says to Águila linked in the article says he played for Luzern and Kriens, but I can't find anything confirming that he actually appeared for the club online, including in German. If he didn't play for Luzern, he fails WP:NFOOTY based on the information in the article and possibly fails WP:GNG as well.
  17. A.D.C. Sanguedo: nominated at AfD; notified Pumpie (talk · contribs) 23:27, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Unsourced since 2007, PROD removed in 2012, I can't find anything WP:GNG-related on this fifth-division club. They did participate in the (108-team, six group) third division in 1991, so coverage is possible, but I can't find much more than this
(apart from database sites) to help source the article.
  18. SoCal Premier League: nominated at AfD; notified Rgps (talk · contribs) 09:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable amateur league, fails WP:GNG, the only sources in the article are primary/not independent and the only two hits I came up with were describing a USASA team playing in the Open Cup and something about rugby, which was unrelated to the league.
  19. Pacific West Baseball League: nominated at AfD; notified Guitarplayer360 (talk · contribs) 15:20, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Shares a name with a Canadian baseball league, which made searching for sources difficult, but I couldn't find much newspaper reporting on the league beyond this article (which is on a player in the league), this article (which is from the year after the league folded?) and a small amount of agate. Fails WP:GNG.
  20. 2013 Champions Classic: nominated at AfD; notified 76.226.192.204 (talk · contribs) 12:40, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Two regular season college basketball games, not notable enough for a stand-alone article. WP:NOTNEWS.
  21. Georgi Yochev: nominated at AfD; notified Extreme01 (talk · contribs) 12:45, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: There are a couple pieces of coverage of him in Bulgarian sources, though not that much, but he's a youth athlete and his only medals are in youth weightlifting. WP:TOOSOON, WP:GNG.
  22. David Thomson (footballer, born 1988): nominated at AfD; notified Bully Wee (talk · contribs) 20:52, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:GNG and the WP:NFOOTY consensus that you have to have played more than one match in a fully professional league to qualify for a standalone article.
  23. Talgarth Rovers F.C.: nominated at AfD; notified Geebaker92 (talk · contribs) 20:57, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I'd prefer not to lose the information but I can't even really validate it. The single source is a dead link, the article is written in a weird contradiction (are they a reserve team of Talgarth Town? An IP changed the lede a decade ago and it's stuck) and I'm not able to find enough information on the side to reliably change it. Fails WP:GNG.
  24. Tennessee Sting: nominated at AfD; notified TheScottDL (talk · contribs) 12:29, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: After a search in several places, completely fails WP:GNG, does not appear to have been covered in secondary sources.
  25. Marc Sylvester: nominated at AfD; notified Realnfh (talk · contribs) 17:32, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Most of the coverage I can find on him is prep sports coverage, which WP:NYOUNGATH specifically discusses. The college coverage is all similar to [6], brief and not significant, and his award is in a youth competition.
  26. Grimsby Red Wings: nominated at AfD; notified Mcshiny (talk · contribs) 18:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Tagged as unsourced/with notability concerns for almost a decade, my WP:BEFORE search only brought up an obituary claiming the club benefited from Canadian players during the Second World War. I did a historical source search with no hits but that didn't include many English sources. Sending to AfD in case anyone can find sources I haven't been able to, otherwise delete, fails WP:GNG.
  27. Olympic Park Stadium: nominated at RfD; Target: Olympic Park (notified); notified Doncram (talk · contribs) 21:08, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Olympic Park Stadium (Melbourne) was disambiguated for reasons I don't completely understand (are there other Olympic Park Stadiums?). I don't see any discussion regarding the move, and I don't know how to boldly undo a move and redirect, so I'm bringing it to RfD.

There's some coverage of this team, see this article when they were launched, and this five-sentence blurb about their first season, but the local newspaper doesn't even cover their home games, and the majority of the results which come up appear to be from a local softball team. I thought this would be a good source but it mentions their attendance of "about 100" in spite of "next to no advertising." • Reason: A list of squads for a FIFA sanctioned U-21 tournament sourced only to the competition website. I don't mind squad lists for major sanctioned tournaments, but this is too specific/fails WP:GNG.

  1. 2013 Ginetta Junior Championship: nominated at AfD; notified Mharris99 (talk · contribs) 16:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Tagged with a notability guideline since 2013, this article's about a youth sporting event which generally do not pass notability guidelines. Also, the only secondary coverage in the article is from the Checkered Flag, which I'm not sure is a WP:RS.
  2. 2016 South American U-17 Women's Championship squads: nominated at AfD; notified Odair.mx (talk · contribs) 12:09, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

  4. Don Pedro Falcón Perales: nominated at AfD; notified Pedrojportilla (talk · contribs) 13:23, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I don't think the available source here passes WP:GNG, the other source is broken but a quick search shows only a passing mention, and I can't find any sources to save this article. Fails WP:GNG.
  5. R Venugopal: nominated at AfD; notified DMySon (talk · contribs) 14:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I was surprised this didn't have a notability tag after looking through the sources, only to see notability tags have been removed twice. Looking through the sources in the article, I don't think he passes WP:GNG. Possibly promotional considering the image is an "own work."
  6. Halifax Vandals: nominated at AfD; notified Norris cole (talk · contribs) 08:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Very low league rugby club which fails WP:GNG, my WP:BEFORE search brought up very few secondary sources, such as [9] [10] [11], none of which can really support any of the text in the article.
  7. Adelaide United eSports: nominated at AfD; notified FastCube (talk · contribs) 17:00, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Not notable enough for a stand-alone article, sourced only to the organisation, fails WP:GNG. Possibly upmerge?
  8. Basil Bright: nominated at AfD; notified ClearAccuracy (talk · contribs) 16:57, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I thought this would be an easy one to remove the notability tag from, but there's no in-line citations, it's written very close to the subject, possibly by someone associated with the club, and he does appear to fail WP:NFOOTY. A search of the British Newspaper Archives didn't bring up anything obvious. I do not have access to the books listed in the references, so I don't mind if this is kept, but I did want to start a discussion on it.
  9. Wilbur Braithwaite: nominated at AfD; notified Jacobkhed (talk · contribs) 17:16, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Tagged with a notability tag for almost a decade now. Youth sports coaches are generally not inherently notable, so thought I'd start a discussion. The case for keeping is that he was more accomplished than usual for a high school coach, having been elected to a high school coaching hall of fame and being selected to be the torch bearer for his small town for the Olympics, and as a result had several articles written on him, almost all by newspapers in Salt Lake City, but a couple church publications and a USA Today article. The case for deleting is that the vast majority of the coverage on him is routine sports coverage from the local paper, giving the article the feeling as if it's been written by someone close to the subject. It also appears many different Utahans carried the torch due to Salt Lake hosting the Olympics. While you can pass GNG with only local coverage, the only coverage outside of Utah I can find is local coverage from Connecticut and Florida mentioning his attendance at two hall of fame coaching conventions, showing what notability he had was quite local. I'm on the delete side here, as I don't think the extent of the coverage adds up to notability. I think relevant information can be merged into the high school's article, if one exists, but am interested to think what others make of this.
  10. Kurt Wesley: nominated at AfD; notified Jonneysammut (talk · contribs) 09:11, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

  11. Jourdan Serderidis: nominated at AfD; notified Boxingup (talk · contribs) 14:46, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: May have missed something, but the article fails WP:GNG - the only coverage I could find on him was from primary websites such as WRC.com, interviews, or blog posts. I can also not verify the WRC-Trophy results, at least on Wikipedia.
  12. Main St - Hamner Ave - Milliken Ave: nominated at AfD; notified 916crdshn (talk · contribs) 13:27, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I tagged this with notability concerns when reviewing instead of deleting, but the tag was removed quickly. This was just accepted at AfC, but I'm not sure why - the sourcing's nowhere near good enough in order for it to pass WP:GNG. Taking to AfD in order to resolve any conflicts.
  13. College Football Risk: nominated at AfD; notified Tanknight (talk · contribs) 05:51, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: I think this fails WP:GNG - even though there are several sources, most are either primary or fan-run blogs. It looks like there's two non-blog articles which discuss the game (MSN and Fort Worth Star-Telegram) the MSN article simply picked up a Bleacher Report blog post here. The Fort Worth article is also relatively brief. Web searches brought up no additional reliable, secondary, significant coverage.

  15. Zac Saleski: nominated at AfD; notified Chiefs190 (talk · contribs) 10:26, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Fails WP:GNG. None of the sources in the article are what we'd consider reliable and/or independent, and no part of his playing career gives him notability under WP:NCOLLATH or WP:GRIDIRON, and if not an autobio it looks like it was written by someone close to the subject.
  16. Jakub Slavík: nominated at AfD; notified Stereodice (talk · contribs) 11:45, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Clearly fails WP:GNG, and a before search brought up nothing additional to help save the article. While possibly a marginal SNG pass, we usually defer to GNG if it's clearly failed.

    • Reason: Fails WP:NORG and WP:GNG as a youth soccer team. All of the coverage in the article is either about the Washington Spirit or is a primary press release, or an article on a former player which only briefly mentions the organisation. There is a WPSL section, but a third tier soccer team in the USA wouldn't necessarily pass WP:GNG, and I can't find any information on them either.

  1. Boston College–Syracuse football rivalry: nominated at AfD; notified Simmonaa (talk · contribs) 16:51, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
    • Reason: I don't think this is an actual rivalry. In a WP:BEFORE search (to learn more about the rivalry) I couldn't find any article which actually describes a rivalry. For instance this article only mentions that they're one of the protected scheduling games, but nothing about an actual rivalry.
